Star Citizen is an open development, crowd funded project from Cloud Imperium. Consisting of 2 games, Squadron 42 a single player, story driven campaign putting you in the middle of the Vanduul attacks as an up and coming UEE Navy pilot, and Star Citizen, a highly detailed
first person MMO set within a persistent universe where there are no limits. This includes, space, and ground aspects, massive spaceships with full interiors and interactions, a full dynamic economy which reacts to the players actions allowing for anything you can imagine.
It is all being built on the StarEngine (a modified version of Amazon's Lumberyard Engine).
Please bare in mind that this is heavily WIP and in an alpha state in which much of the foundational tech to make it a reality is still being developed. Both games do not have set release dates yet but you can play the alpha build for the PU MMO which makes consistent progress
with quarterly patch releases throughout the year.
I am an independent content creator and a fan of the game, I am not paid by Cloud Imperium however I do accept ships from them to giveaway to my community but this will by no means influence my opinion or what I say and believe about the project.

Looks like Star Citizens take on the ORCA from EvE Online. I used to wonder what it would feel like to walk around in a huge mining ship, what it would feel like to pilot one. SC is going to make it a reality
Nah that's the Orion. Way more storage for ore.
I think the Orion would be closer to the Rorqual in EvE Online.@@MastaSquidge
A large mining ship with on board refinery. Imagine if a mining operation could go on for days? This I would love to see.
Too bad servers can't last more than 2 hours without crashing.
aint gunna happen, they have a dock for ROCs for ground vehichles for some reason. thats over half the total size of the ship lost alone.
@@NORKIE afaik the ROCs are optional, also the new document show 64 scu internal cargo, and 512 external.
Torn between the arrastra and the reclaimer for which ship is the best of the show. Mining seems more fleshed out, but salvage is looking great as well.
also the hull munching was already incoming for salvage.
Considering that I will assume that mining will always be a (relatively) safe way of making money, this ship looks like it's going to be a banger. A crew of five is easily made, maybe even 3 with the rest being NPC's, so it'll allow this ship to just go out and do its thing without having to worry about crewing a capital ship like the Orion. It also looks well-armored enough to defend itself from at least the occassional pirate with a big enough storage haul to just, go directly to a place to sell off your mined items, instead of having to store it all in a station first and THEN move it to a cargo ship!
Looks like an interesting ship, and yeah modern RSI design looks great.
I am extremely excited for this ship and the future of RSI. Loving their design language
Thank you SuperMacBrother for your videos and streams!
For smaller groups it is helpful as it is easier to gather and manage needs with five people. Example another person drop in when someone has to leave as we all have busy schedules sadly.
With this newer RSI design language I hope to see a single seat ship, Prospector has been great and has some of the best cockpit visibility, having variety would be nice with other manufacturers. : )
I hope CIG is less aggressive on raising pricing as the Arrastra is pretty focused, it could though do some hauling and has a nice wide back gate for vehicles. Also you can see on the floor designation like in the Spirit and other ships where the cargo grid will be located, leaves the center line for walking.
Speaking of value and pricing - The Spirit series for value so far has been better, this shows promise for the other ships that CIG will add to it.
I thought I'd be done after the F8C, but this ship has me intrigued. I guess the final price will dictate if I pick one up.
Lol, at first I was thinking "I thought it would be bigger", then I looked up how big the Orion was and thought "yeah, that is about as big as it should be!"
I like the looks of Arrastra, waiting to see the price and more details about the refining gameplay.
I am looking forward to this new RSI Mining Ship .. I am using a mole now, … an it’s is a pain having to constantly move between pilot set an mining arm when you don’t have a full crew..
Hopefully this will alleviate some of that headache with a more centralized Bridge/Mining seat structure.
Love the look of this ship, builds on the MOLE for sure in terms of not having to constantly move - great video Mac
Originally wasn’t thinking about getting into mining…. The Arrastra might have changed that. Good looking ship.
Nice, i like the concept. players sitting around bored in different corners of the ship has always been my biggest problem with the Mole. Now they will get something to do while waiting for the next rock or repositioning too and can even decide between ship mining and dropping rocs/ hand miners.
But there is still one more ship on my anticipation list. It would be amazing if the Apollo would go live tomorrow
You know, the ship that made me really happy to fly this iae was the vanguard. I know it’s been around for a while but I never got the chance to fly one around until yesterday. Something about the shape makes it feel reminiscent of the pelican from halo. And of course I always wanted to fly one of those as a young kid.
Also I’ve been watching your videos for at least over a year now. You have been my main SC channel to go to ❤
I'm very glad that I was turned toward this ship. I had the Orion, but unfortunately don't have many people I play the game with to crew it and operate it efficiently. I think the Arrastra will make a much better fit to my playstyle and circle. Thanks for making this video! Always appreciate your content
I love the look and purpose of this! I hope the ship delivers upon release.
I really love the new RSI design philosophy. I wonder where this ship will get slotted in the RSI ship sprint they're doing next year.
Definitely an interesting addition. When ships like this offer multiple capabilities, it makes me wonder how they will compete against ships that can support those same capabilities. Presumably ships that focus on one job as opposed to multiple will have the leg up on those types of jobs, so the flexible ships like the Arrastra must offer a more advantageous position in areas where job types overlap.
The Odyssey, Arrastra, and Orion can all refine the minerals they mine. The first seemingly to support extended exploration and discovery, while the later two being able to extend their mining time operations in more remote locations. But similar to fighting ships, the higher up the size chain we go for industrial ships, the more support a ship will likely need. It makes me wonder how much maintenance and support will limit larger ships and to what point do the largest ships become a liability.
I did end up buying one of these today. I just really love the design directions RSI are going in and how things mesh with these ships. I also have a Polaris from some years back and more recently the Galaxy; I expect to get a lot of use from all of them with my org.
I'm not a miner, but have been looking forward to seeing what the Arrastra was like. It's turned out to be such a cool looking ship.
I am most excited for the retaliator bomber rework. It was the first ship that gave me the wow factor.
I know it isn't IAE specific but I'm definitely most excited for the Zeus Mk II lineup. From IAE my favorite ship that I've explored so far was the Glaive- maybe it's not my cup of tea exactly, but after renting one I found a new appreciation for it, though it made me realize that HUDs need contrasting display colors because I couldn't parse out when I was being told "no" on an all red display.
Looks pretty good. Other than the Apollo for medical, I still have to choose a second profession and this one ticks a lot of checkboxes!
This will be a CCU chain target for me as the near 600 dollar price is a bit steep at the moment but with the ability to refine the ores you mine and store up to 512 SCU of refined materials externally leaves plenty of time out in the dark. Or you couple it with a few freighters with ship tractor beams to just keep going as you offload product while continuing to mine. For now I am just going to have fun getting used to how the C1 flies and how to best use the tractor beam.
I added a few ships to my hangar at this IAE - C1, Santok, Syulen, and X1, but I'm most excited for the Arrastra - it'll be a very useful ship, and looks great too!
The Arrastra looks cool, Personally i'm still waiting for the Perseus as that should be great fun!
Great roundup of the ship. I bought a CCU but I don't know whether it'll ever get used.
Loved the IAE, but the most exciting thing happened on day 1. I love the Syulen. It's become my daily driver over the last week or so. So much so that both my Cutter and Cutlass black are being melted.
Really looking forward to the Arrastra now, I wasn't at first as I don't really do mining but some of my org do so though I may not do too much myself I can have one to support the org especially when base building comes in and materials are needed.
the ship looks amazing. i hope the pilot gets to mine to give some fun for the pilot
Use a prospector? lol
Great summary, Ryan! Really looking forward to it. I'm hoping they talk about ship-based refining soon!
I love the look of the Arrestra, RSI design language has really come into its own over the last few years. Now all we need is for CIG to go back and update/redo the older RSI ships like the Connie and Aurora. That said I am excited to pick up an arrestra ccu for my org, I think it will really make a difference on the mining gameplay compared to my current Mole.
Never seen your content before this IAE. Very solid content, easy to listen to, and without all of the inane "reaction" trappings that so many other SC youtubers resort to. Keep on keeping on.
Very excited to see more about RSI going forward - love the ship design. Also, would love to see more about the 600i rework soon!
An Arrastra; who knows but the Spirit series are a lovely group. They're well thought out as are all the newer ships. CIG seem to be understanding what we want from our ships, more and more.
I haven't really delved into mining in SC, but I do like the direction we seem to be going in.
Great report out as usual, excited to ultimately see this one in game. Big rsi fan, 1st irl ship upgrade was the Connie andro.
The Areastra concept is very interesting. Thank you for your insights. It will need to have a reasonable starting price to really catch on with players.
Love the Arrastra, that RSI style is getting more refined than ever!
This year the IAE have so much to offer. It feels like Star Citizen have just sky rocketed into the next universe with so much more to offer. The Zeuse, Arrastra, A1, C1 and the list go on. With one card you can control them all. Hehe ouch...
looks quite nice indeed, but i'm with you when it comes to "those ships that are already implemented"
just secure some cheap ccu to it and don't apply till its flight ready until some bold loaner would be given. that's how i usually do.
This ship might be exactly what I've been waiting for. Depending how far it can travel could make it my new favorite.
It looks cool i ponder how she will fly as i like how Connies have the veto vents
I love the RSI design language, and the new Arrastra looks great. But I’m still eagerly awaiting the Apollo and I’m a little disappointed that we still don’t have that ship in game.
Not planning to get one, but I really like how she looks. I hope they use same kind of design language for smaller ships as well
This will a great addition to the collection. I think it’s going to be the best mining ship by far. The orion is too bulky for me and it needs a really big org to take advantage of it. But this one seems to have the same amount of stations than the mole + refining, but that can be done while in route and not necessarily at the same time, so not necessarily that many people needed to operate it.
I'm waiting for the Galaxy, that seems more suitable for my type of gameplay, but the ship does look good and has a lot of possibilities.
I really like the Arrastra. It has everything you could want to do in mining. Amazing concept
I am excited for this ship and actually just got it today. Can't wait for it to become flyable along with the refining mechanic being implemented with ships and such. It'll be interesting to know where they want to take the minerals in the game. Building ships would be awesome, but I know that would be quite a task for the devs and if it even was on the radar it would be way out there. But still, a fantastic ship in my opinion!
definitely looking to upgrade to this from the mole - even though its much bigger i think this may actually be easier to solo than the mole as all of the mining stations are right there on the bridge - alongside the pilot seat - thanks for the great content , keep up the good work :)
This ship is the one I've been waiting for. A ship that can handle both ship minables and carry ROCs for ground mining in one place.
Got an endeavor today hoping it will be amazing. Very exciting! Thanks for the videos.
I love the exterior, and was really hoping after the Galaxy and Odyssey that we might see more ships with crew quarters, especially at this scale. The 5 bunk room is a really tough sell for me as far as roleplay and letting friends have their own personal space onboard.
I could see myself picking it up as a money maker in-game, but really it's nothing I'd want to spend extra time aboard while playing. At this point it's just a Mole with some functionality added, but still not a live-aboard ship.
I am most excited for the Arrastra. Ive recently started mining and find it very enjoyable, as well as quite relaxing.
I am super exited about this ship! It looks so sweet - awesome for a crew of miners, and I love the fact that it can fit ROCs.
I love the Crusader Spirit series, I set my desktop background to the original concept art the first time I ever saw the concept. I'm so glad that it's already in game. I'm also hyped about the Syulen. I wonder if it will be able to compete with the king of the starters ships, the Avenger Titan.
This IAE I was most excited for the Supermax Caterpillar that was rumored in leaks but it never materialized. My runner up and current is the Arrastra! That thing looks amazing. As an Orion owner it breaks my heart a little bit but still least we’ll have something shiny to play with while we wait for the Orion!
in the last few days i really fell in love with crusader ships so most excited for spirit c1 i would say they should make some combat focus variant with bounty cells or something like that
That Arrastra looks like a ship that is going to play a huge role in the verse. The Gatac is one of the ships I was anticipating the most. Great video.
Excited for the introduction of this ship. Hopefully it will be what I originally hoped the Odyssey was capable of but wasn't.
Great value and play mechanics in this ship. Would like to see a medbed for this type of utility gameplay but otherwise great design…highly looking forward to picking one up. Great video bud keep it up!
Always appreciate your videos, I'm holding out hope that CIG will surprise
d us with the Apollo Medivac being flight ready this year but I know that is highly unlikely.
The Arrastra looks so good! I'd love to have one :D
Its funny, I melted my mining fleet for this ship and got them back as loaner ships with an arrow. Hopefully this ship with space base building would add to a mining outpost with player orgs just enjoying a game play function.
Also, you may not even need the base to be able to refine at all and could focus it to mining or production which could free up base space. Depending on how they do base that may be at a premium for players
I am very excited for the new mining ship!
The C1 Spirit is a lovely ship, flies like a dream!
Can't wait for these huge ships to come online, perfect for a mobile RV/Home, its a toss up, might use my Pioneer as my home base, but gonna get this for sure, love the white/black colour scheme very pretty.
Everything I ever wanted from the Orion minus drones! not gonna lie I'm kinda in love with the idea of it. Hopefully they do a small RSI mining ship that can fit inside.
I am super interested in this ship. I have been saying for years we need a mining ship that can bring Rocs along. The refinery station is an added bonus. I expect a lot of Mole owners to upgrade to this ship.
The ship I was most excited about was the Carrack - I know, well-known ship by now but I had to pick that one up... The Arrastra also looks kinda great...
I'll definitely buy a CCU to one, but no reason to apply said CCU till it comes out and we see how it actually works in game.
Loving your content as always! I'm most excited to see more info on the Galaxy base building.
Looks like a great ship! Industrial game play is a lot fun! Good step towards the Orion as well!
Definintly trading in my reclaimed for this. I basically never fly it and the arastra looks more soloable than a mole. Because the crew stations are all in the same room. Instead of running up and down multiple floors.
I really like the way each brand has a very specific and unique design. Each one has quirks that make them well loved depending which style you like. I’d like to see one of these from each of the companies to see each ones take on it.
I'm loving the c1. It's a cool little ship.
Thanks for the update, super excited for the Odyssey!
I'm excited for the C1 to replace the Freelancer MAX I used to drive, now that it takes two people to fly it. I traded up to a Prospector but I still want to have a medium space-truck for hauling.
Hey Mac, thanks for the video. I’m going to grab an Arrastra if the stats check out. Think i’m
Learning not to buy on the spur but rather to sit back and investigate the ships first m, big boy buying 😂. I owned a Mole but I really don’t like it, I find that like the Raft it’s claustrophobic and a bit unloved. I’ll be keeping my Prospector though and plan on getting an Expanse this afternoon. I’m interested to see what they intend with ore and salvage refining!
Love the idea of the ship, hate that CIG saw a gap inbetween the MOLE and Orion - but end up increasing the price of the Orion and slide the Arrastra into its spot...
I was really hoping RSI would surprise us with an ambulance version of the Ursa.
Really looking forward to picking up a Galaxy after they announced it will be able to construct small to large buildings!
hey mate, you have won the RSI C1 LTI game package giveaway, please DM me with your RSI handle and email associated with your RSI account and I will send that over to you. congrats :)
The Arrastra is the what I need. Or what I expected from the MOLE but not get from the MOLE.
Great video 👍🏻 if those guns are size 5s, the Arrastra might be the best all around multi role ship as well as an awesome mining ship! 😮
I'm just looking forward to a dedicated ship for crafting gameplay! Searching out high value items and minerals in dangerous locations, creating something rare and selling it for the big bucks would be superb.
I’m so excited for this ship. My org will be using this very regularly.
I plan on getting one but I need to see the Q&A first! Great content Super Mac!
I'm likely going to pick this one up. I am pretty excited about all of the mining ships in the game.
Great insight! I can't wait until we have a full economy and science game play is revealed. The Endeavor I have my eyes on.
The RSI Arrastra. A dreams come true. Such a massive declaration of love to us miners.
CIG "We saw a gap between the Mole & the Orion". So lets up the price on the Orion so we can easier stick the Arrastra in there.
But I really like the Arrastra, my ccu's have changed direction
I am currently building a CCU chain to the Arrastra, for the very purpose of supporting base building in my Org.
All these developments are really getting me leaning to joining an org. Industrial work will be critical for any org that wants to be viable. My personal sweet spot for mining ship would be a mole if I had to pick one. The aesthetics look great and it works well for the asteroids in Stanton.
Just dropped the $400 pledge on this ship which seems insane. Then again i have 28 ships, so am well past the point of no return. However, i have got anyone them quite like these beast. So am stoked that this in in the pipleline here.
Excited about the new RSI ship and the C1 looks like a great ship to have ! Good video Mac!
Great design! Won’t pick one up but certainly very interesting gameplay loop whenever it’s in game
I’m very keen for the Zeus CL and I hope we get some solid specs for the lineup.
I melted some ground vehicles and then did a store credit CCU on my Mule (LTI) for one.
The loaner ship is the Spirit A1 (bomber) with exactly zero cargo capacity, but I expect CIG will change that to the C1 (cargo) variant when that comes into the game.
Not really into mining, but with Pyro coming, I’m going to join a few larger ships as crew - salvage, combat, cargo hauling and mining.
I mean, it’s a dirty job, but someone has to do it.
I got my loaner C1 already, huh
I'm not planning to get one but I like the design. Unfortunately it might be a while before we see it in-game as 4 other RSI ships + variants, modules were already announced to be made.
If this ship is able to refine material gathered by others, as it seems to suggest by showing ROC's in the hanger, then I feel like the ultimate mining expedition might become an Arrastra and a Liberator working in tandem. Arrastra mines and refines, carries a couple ROC's, and the Liberator brings additional ROC's and transports a few escort fighters to protect the expedition in the field. Seems like a great way to have 10 or 12 people all active at once enjoying different gameplay loops.
But how does it stack up against just bringing a few Prospectors, an Expanse, and a couple long range fighters?
I am most excited for the Zeus. The different models pack a lot of utility in a little space.
