Growing in containers is pretty much the only way I will do carrots, any more. My only difference is I plant them using a plastic grid and plant individual seed in each spot.
Perfect man, you and me both!! Do you have to transplant after a certain stage? Do you grow the bigger varieties to make it more worthwhile for the extra time?
@@TheRipeTomatoFarms I’ve found they dont grow big in pots… no matter the type. Imperators, for example just stop adding length once the tip feeder roots hit solid bottom. So I stick with Nantes, Chantenay, and the more “stumpy” varieties. I have tried them as sprouts started on damp tissue, then transplanting. It works, but it’s fiddly. So I just use the grid and plant one or two per space. I learned it from a guy in the UK - “Home Grown Veg,” aka, Jim. Tell him I sent you…. ruclips.net/video/8pvCwJaKUu8/видео.html
i did that, made a raised bed for carrots, three weeks and i don't think they are coming up. i think morning glories is what's coming up. got potting soil, some natural dirt and composted top soil. aaarrrrggghhhh. you grew some beauties.
I did carrots for the first time and I forgot to thin them. But I did get a lot of tiny carrots. They were delicious and now I know what I did wrong. 😂🥕
Hi. I am a new subscriber. I think you are one of those who explain details and beginner friendly!! This is my very first time trying to start vegetable garden. I watched your zucchini video. And they are now germinating in seedling tray. 🤞🏻🤞🏻 For carrots seeds, can we do the same as zucchini?? Plant seeds in seedling tray with lid? You mentioned carrots like warm. But temperature where I live is still questionable... still in 40 f - 50 f outdoor. (Zone 6a in US) I am trying to grow my vegetables in containers also. Thank you in advance.
Is this the same guy that used to paint his face green and hide behind bud plants while giving “garden” tips? I loved that channel. This is a great video looking forward to growing carrots.

im a year late watching this video… was just thinking of this method today!! thank you
Hey right on! You going to try them this year?
@@TheRipeTomatoFarms yes!! most definitely after watching this!!
BLESSINGS 💖
Cheers Carolyn!
Thank you
Cheers Eve, thanks for watching! :-)
Great video.
Thanks Maurice! :-)

Nice content 👍 informative
Nice idea harvest big carrots first.
Thanks, it really does work too! Beets as well! 🙂
Upspeak is strong with one
i did that, made a raised bed for carrots, three weeks and i don't think they are coming up. i think morning glories is what's coming up. got potting soil, some natural dirt and composted top soil. aaarrrrggghhhh. you grew some beauties.
Carrots can take a notoriously long time to sprout... They look like little grass plants when they first come up.
I did carrots for the first time and I forgot to thin them. But I did get a lot of tiny carrots. They were delicious and now I know what I did wrong. 😂🥕
But those little ones really are tasty hey?!
Great information Jeff!!! Hopefully this year I can actually have some carrots. Definitely don’t want carrots misshapen and/or hairy!!! 😂🤓😂
Hi. I am a new subscriber. I think you are one of those who explain details and beginner friendly!! This is my very first time trying to start vegetable garden. I watched your zucchini video. And they are now germinating in seedling tray. 🤞🏻🤞🏻
For carrots seeds, can we do the same as zucchini?? Plant seeds in seedling tray with lid? You mentioned carrots like warm. But temperature where I live is still questionable... still in 40 f - 50 f outdoor. (Zone 6a in US) I am trying to grow my vegetables in containers also.
Thank you in advance.
Thank you!
I couldn't help but rofl @3:45 "Misshapen and hairy" followed by the meaningful nod 😂
Heh heh! ;)
Love the idea of thinning carrots to use baby carrots rather than just letting baby plants go to waste.
It works for beets too! But carrots is just a perfect fit!
Is this the same guy that used to paint his face green and hide behind bud plants while giving “garden” tips? I loved that channel. This is a great video looking forward to growing carrots.
Ha ha never painted my face before..but now I kinda want to!!
