yes all arcade cartridges are perfect for the alpha and maybe some 3d games because of the 3d arcade stick too like glover which is not so easy to play with the normal evercade controller, they even add a coinbutton for credits sadly on the wrong position, the fakecoinslot with on/off buttons will be more perfect for the coin button so it feels like putting a coin in a coinslot, i was also writing them a email about this
Sanwa make very well known and regarded arcade stick assys for custom and high end arcade cabinets. People buy them to upgrade the ones fitted to preassembled arcade sticks too, buy a cheap stick deck then rip out the cheap parts for Sanwas to create a posh stick on the cheap.
Nice job on the quick reaction video! Glad I didn't read all the comments before we caught up for our podcast chat. Personally, I can see a place in the market for the Alpha. Maybe not the existing community but as a new entry point for new players. On price, if people are happy to spend hundreds of pounds on LEGO Star Wars, why not an arcade cabinet? There are people out there who will always find the cash for something they want, even if it seems eye-watering if you have already invested in an EXP or VS.
Some very high quality games. Fighter heavy though. I'd definitely would've preferred all games on 1 cabinet. Splitting them into 2 seems a bit crazy. 2nd cabinet couldve been another publisher
These look solid, tonnes of games that will lend themselves so well to either of these. To be honest the built in games are great but it's the evercade cart option that got me. I'm in. (Just one though!)
It's nice to see an option with an arcade stick and 6 buttons we can reach. Also great that you can plug in a USB Arcade stick for 2-player gaming. Huge miss that the Alpha doesn't have HDMI out. Would have been super cool if you could link two Alpha's and play together, each person with their own screen and control panel. I'm also really tired of games only being built into hardware and not on cartridges. This is really starting to hurt Evercade. Alpha is too expensive for me but I am happy with my Evercade VS.
BTW, with Arcade One Up tripling and quadrupling their prices on their cabinets people looking for something similar might well be tempted at these prices, £200 doesn't seem too much compared to £800. The ability to expand the system is an added benefit. If it has an HDMI out so that player 2 can use a separate screen would make this a bit neat IMO.

Yeah, I'll be getting the SFII unit. I don't necessarily think it's worth the money, but I'm a collector of these faux arcade cabs and having it be compatible with all my Evercade carts is a nice bonus.
Would never buy 2 of these but could be tempted with the Megaman Deluxe. £250 is expensive but paid more than that for 90 minutes watching Scotland at the Euros!
I just measured an Evercade cart box diagonally across the face and they are 7 inches top left corner to bottom right corner. The alpha screens will be 8 inch so imagine the Evercade cart box being just a bit bigger and your get an idea of the screen size.
I’m very disappointed with this announcement. I will not be getting one of these. First of all, price point is way outside of anything Evercade has offered over its lifespan. I get there has been a vocal community asking for arcade product. Well here you go. A bar top arcade for retro-whale spenders full of games that have been readily available via Capcom Arcade collections for a decade. For the last few years Evercade has been giving us affordable, niche, indie collections and devices. I was totally stoked for Tomb Raider and would pay extra for bigger carts in that direction. And then we get this…huge overshoot. If HyperMegaTech needed to be its own brand, how is this even “Evercade.” Hopefully the trend doesn’t continue and they don’t give people all of the achievements and leaderboards they ask for too, because at that point we’d have jumped the shark twice. This is a niche device, but there have been people wondering, what would it be like to have an arcade cabinet powered by Evercade hardware. I was one of them and I feel intriqued. This will never attract massive audience, but I see some niche market for it.
Nice, non essential and I couldn't justify getting both. The price is pretty much what I'd expect for the type of device. Don't think it's aimed at the regular evercade folks, more for drawing in new folks.

Don't know if I'd be interested, but it has given me an idea to make an evercade arcade cabinet. It wouldn't even cost me anything, already have an arcade stick and a monitor. I even have plenty of scrap material, making countertops for a living.
8 inch screen is about the size of a lenovo legion go,so it's pretty big to be fair..and Sanwa parts upped the price I guess..not for me personally, but a pretty cool way to play your arcade carts.
All I seen there before I opened this comment up was " 8 inch screen is about the size of..." thankfully you didn't go where my head was going with this lol
It's a well put together midi bartop at a reasonable price in what is already an oversaturated market. I like the SNK NeoGeo MVS style approach with the inbuilt games, two carts you can swap out and changeable marquee art but it would have been nice if they could have secured a licence for the NeoGeo games instead of Capcom. There's just too many ways to play Capcom arcade games already with the Arcade 1UP range, Capcom Home Arcade, Capcom Arcade Stadium, Super Retrocade and even the EXP and Super Pocket. I just feel this needed a new license but it's still a cool product. I suspect that TATE games will prove to be a bit of an issue with the 4:3 aspect ratio they've gone for but it makes sense for most games. Will I be getting one? ... Probably not as I have all of the above ways to play Capcom Arcade games already and also suspect that I don't even have the room for another bartop :-) I really hope it does well for Blaze as they'll be needing a success to fund the next gen Evercade console. Keep up the awesome work!
I guessed right! 😀 Wish the screen was bigger, 12" is just about comfortable for games in 4:3 ratio. Not forgetting 14" CRT's were perfect for the likes of Megadrive and PS1 back in those bedroom days lol. For the life of me I do not understand the thinking behind the Megaman unit. It should of had 1942,1943, Commando, Mercs, Ghosts'n Goblins & Ghouls'n Ghosts. Street Fighter version for me. Gutted the screen isn't bigger though. The Aplha pad is a joke though, it should of had 6 face buttons to match the arcade stick and should of just kept to the new gray colour. Cheers Crazy!
* sad trombone * I really want to get into Evercade but it just keeps missing the mark for me. If only they focused all, or at least most, of their energy on high quality indie titles that are typically only available digitally.
i will probably pass on this, but i do think its pretty cool and will get more people interested in evercade. im hoping this means more arcade carts in the future?
QUESTION FOR EVERYONE! Does this mean that the NAMCO COllection 1 and 2 will now work for multiplayer? Website says ALL cartridges work on it. This is technically a portable form factor, so that would enable Blaze to use the namco games here. Just a matter of plugging in the two controllers in the slots and now we would have...multiplayer Namco (NES roms) games running on the Alpha! Let me know if I'm right or if I'm wrong!
I'm not sure who was asking for this. The trailer did a poor job getting across the scale to the point that the price took me by surprise as I assumed it was a mini. Do they even have a prototype at this point? Is Hyper Mega Tech already dead?
Yes and....damn yesss. 😅 it gets now interesting because i dont have the evercade home console. Only problem is: i own the capcom arcade1up with some streetfighter and other capcom titles. Ofc without streetfighter alpha 2 and 3 which are probably the best 2d beatem ups ever made. The other one has knights of the round. Too bad they only have one stick.
Anyone that thinks these are over priced... They are pretty much spot on and around the going rate when compared to arcade1up versions, and your also getting a VS built-in. The days of getting arcade1up bartop Pac-man for £120 at Argos are long gone thanks to COVID, £200 is normal now and standup arcade1up's that were £299 are now £599.
Not really interested in having an arcade machine in my home, but it does look nice enough. I am happy with my Super Pocket for now. Might get a VS-R one day. Focused on getting a few more carts before I think about new hardware.
I made a guess a few weeks ago it would be an arcade type system with cart slot. I'm too clever 😂 we'll I got close. This is nothing like the hypermegatech branding. Its a good size and as the arcade controls can be upgrade you can put in your own parts. Personally its not too expensive for the size of it and the included screen, customisable arcade controls and changable marquee banners. Good value id say. I will be getting one. Only have an EXP and thought about the VS but this will suit me better. Yes it has 2 usb ports included for controller connection for 2p gaming. The deluxe is well worth it for the upgraded sanwa buttons and stick, you also get all 6 marquee banners instead of the 3 in the standsrd one and also the controller.
It is really, really cool. However, I don't have a use for it, and my money would better be spent on car repairs or something. I could see a large retro gaming channel buy one to show off. And finally, I think it's too high end for this brand and don't see it selling too well. And I hope that doesn't end up hurting the company, because just recently they were bragging about how good they're doing. This looks like a risky investment on their part.
Is it actually known which emulators and frontend they use? And i always wondered…If it’s capcom licensed, where does the rom come from? Directly given by Capcom, or just downloaded from the internet?
Not everyone is a Street Fighter fan and those other Capcom games are getting a bit stale these days. Whatever happened to the Super Retrocade, and why hasnt any Chinese firm bunged out a clone console that can play Evercade carts by now?
Again. I think this is not really needed at the moment. You basically are buying it for these built in games. So I think it’s marketed at targeting a new audience?! Also you basically can achieve what this does with the other systems! Minus the authentic Arcade feel and playability to it! Again. HARD pass for me. Will save my money to buy NEW carts instead. 🤔
Clearly, they're taking a dig at My Arcade. Will most likely get one but why restrict the premium version to one reseller? Give official resellers in other countries a chance to sell the premium version. I can imagine the freight fee from the UK to Australia on this.
The size proportions are confusing to me. It shows the controller to be wider than the system, but it also shows that it can fit two cartridges in the front. That doesn't make that much sense to me.
For the price one cabinet, you can buy the latest Capcom collections and more? I guess the issue is that the evercade can't handle CPS2 games, but I'm a fan Evercade for games that haven't been in millions of collections before. Don't we already have Strider on the EXP? I guess they have some deal with Capcom and they just don't want physical carts? Either way the EXP has more Capcom games and is a better deal? This is for people who only play Street Fighter with an arcade stick.
The screen on this is 4:3. They mentioned it in one of their tweets. I haven't seen anything saying the screen can rotate but why would it matter if it's 4:3?
It looks nice but dont think i need any more hardware. I can remnent listening to a podcast and they said the largest margin is on hardware which is why they keep pumping out revisions. Mini arcades on aliexpress are around £150 but come with thousands of games, possibly not the same build quality but its a niche market
The 8" screen is way to small for this type of device for me... I'm in my fourties now, and my eyesight isn't what it used to be! Between 13" and 19" would be perfect for me! Basically an iPad Pro 12,9" screen size! As it stands I have an Evercade VS connected to an 27" screen and two 8bitdo Arcade sticks, so I think that will be enough for me.
If it was £200 for both then fine, but for each one, then stuff that. I want to new Blaze to the hilt, but they are really going down the route their old iteration did. Given the screen is smaller than a 10'' tablet and the fact they have a changeable marquee, but the sides are slapped with decals, I see no point here. Only thing I can see as a plus is if you can hack them and find some way to add extras, but still play your carts.
If they had one with the same games as The Street Fighter Collection, I may have got one. For how much space this takes up, it's not worth it being this limited.
who has the space in their house for this kind of thing? it has an aesthetic that only fits the most hardcore gaming nerds. i can't imagine most people will be in the market for one
If they made a full sized cabinet, they'll probably give arcade1up some competition. Arcade1up is locked with the games it comes with unless you mod it yourself. This can swap out games with carts. I care for neither one because I use roms on a PC. This product would win the battle if was full sized with swapping carts.
write a email about the evercade arcade joystick to the blaze evercade support, i did this already and they seem open to this idea, so with more Votes they will maybe deliver it atleast it makes also sense for player 2 on the alpha so both players have same fair chances and controls.
thats the reason why it has no hdmi.... because of the namco guys outthere....atleast by selling namco 1+2 collection you can get 1 evercade alpha for the earned money
They sell full size arcade machines for £300 and they come with like 3 games so £200 for a mini arcade that can play cartridges this seems great but I need to see more
Wow.... Pretty much called this feature by feature in your last vid wahat will the Alpa be?... Pretty cool, but it needs to incorporate tate mode for those games that need it. Wish it had two sticks mind but nether the less still very cool. And definitely with the ability to add carts ... Suppose this means they never release a dedicated arcade stick for the VS now.
To expensive for what it is I would rather they just did this cabinet with the basic free games you can unlock and just play the cartridges you already have .
get your 799,99 euro ps5pro without stand, game, disc drive.... atleast the evercade alpha has a IPS(they could also get a cheaper weaker LCD for a lower price but i am glad they choose IPS for better viewing angle when playing 2 player mode) screen, arcade controls and build in games so its basicaly a evercade VS 100$ plus IPS screen 50$ and arcade stick 100$ and 6 licensed games 30$ pretty artwork and 3 changeable marquees and wooden art = 50$ = 280$ value
Well that wasn't what I was expecting, and it also isn't what I need in my life. I collect the Numskull Quarter Arcades but I have no desire, nor a need for the Alpha. It also seems a bit overpriced in honesty. I won't be buying.
I think the Street Fighter one is pointless because all of those games are EASILY accessible on modern consoles in similar collections that Capcom themselves have put together. The Mega Man one though with Power Battle & Power Battle 2 I don't believe has ever been included in any recent compilations so I think that's the one to go for. A little pricey for what they are but it's good that you can still use the other cartridges to get a more authentic arcade experience if wanted
I think its sold under the Evercade brand because Evercade sells better then Hyper mega tech. I own a original, a vs and a EXP plus all the cartridges. Butt i wasnt interestted in one.
No, just a waste of space. And I think Evercade is done. I collected all the devices and cartridges and now I see them all as garbage. Not all cartridges work properly (bugs?), not all games are really worth buying, not all games work smoothly on those hardware, weird OS updates that breake games, poor logisitc in Poland (two pockets arrived damaged and funstock didn't give a crap), and so on. For context, I got more than 20 real consoles and about a thousand of real cartridges. Thus I have enough ways to play original games and don't see any value of Evercade. So my opinion is a bit biased here.
Deff be ordering the megaman one , not interested in the street fighter one Still awaiting more arcade carts though, feel they been neglected lately but for me they are the only carts generally I now buy Be fun to play all the other carts on this
Why the fuck is Evercade splitting this in two? Makes no damn sense. Just include all the games being offered here in one barcade. This is just stupid.
Not for me firstly the cost way expensive , the games not very appealing has I don’t like fighting games and mega man games not that appealing either , great idea but No 👍
An interesting idea but I have no room for such a big device. 16” tall with an 8” screen is just not practical for many of us. Make them 7”-8” tall with a 4”-5” screen (like the Sega Astro City Mini’s and the Taito Egret II Mini) and knock $50 off the price and these would be much more attractive.
It's not for me. I've already got a couple of arcade1up cabinets a pacman one and the street fighter big blue one. And the neogeo one aslo, and that's already modified to hold way more games including capcoms entire arcade back catalogue. Don't have room for more, don't have a need for more
This is a big no from me. I've never been into these mini arcade table tops. Blaze are going down that Sega road by releasing to many pieces of hardware. They should put it's money and resources into fully fixing these update issues and getting more games out. I love the evercade but this is getting to much now regarding the hardware side of things.
I would have been interested if you could connect both machines and play multi-player across 2 screens.
I like that the cartridges are compatible. Finally, I can play Rod-Land as intended!

Probably not as I have all of the above ways to play Capcom Arcade games already and also suspect that I don't even have the room for another bartop :-) I really hope it does well for Blaze as they'll be needing a success to fund the next gen Evercade console. Keep up the awesome work!
I guessed right! 😀
Wish the screen was bigger, 12" is just about comfortable for games in 4:3 ratio.
Probably should have been just one cabinet version with all the Capcom games from the EXP collection :-(
@@jayme69 Yeah I agree. While the price is not overly expensive, space in the home is a premium when your into retro so 1 unit for me.
Looks like it’s the VS -R for me and the next mini console from retrogames ltd. Two consoles for the price of one Alpha.
i like the look but a bit pricy big issue is whats the screen like
* sad trombone *
I really want to get into Evercade but it just keeps missing the mark for me. If only they focused all, or at least most, of their energy on high quality indie titles that are typically only available digitally.
i will probably pass on this, but i do think its pretty cool and will get more people interested in evercade. im hoping this means more arcade carts in the future?
Surely more arcade are due. Could be cool playing arcade games for sure on these devices.
I was wondering the same thing! I *HOPE* these Alpha machines will allow us to play the Namco carts.🤞
Mmm I'd say yes. It's not a console or for TV purposes.
They have listed Namco 1 & 2 working on Alpha on the website..., I hope these don't have batteries in them!!
@@OriginalGrasshopper If so, Id be tempted JUST to play some of those Namco games multiplayer with some friends. fingers crossed!
Bloody heck.. pricing is going bananas. I might sell my cabinet at that price. Double my money. Try to get rich. Lol that sounds familiar..
@@CrazyBurger Yep, my arcade1up bartop Pac-man is worth more second hand these days lol. I think most people mod them with a pi tho.
@@MIKandJEAN I was tempted but can't find the time
I think I'm going to get the Megaman one.
Im getting one for sure : Mega man alpha . Cool video!
Might indulge.
Is it actually known which emulators and frontend they use? And i always wondered…If it’s capcom licensed, where does the rom come from? Directly given by Capcom, or just downloaded from the internet?
It's Mame I'm sure. Or at least a modified version.
I look forward to the Street Fighter Deluxe Edition review John 😁😁
Positive is it’ll be on sale on bfriday, if not sold well it’ll be on sale deeper
Ain't no body buying it for the built in games, there's like 5 version of Street Fighters for $229, they must be insane.
So i am just going to wait for your review of one of these. Until then, its a maybe at most for me.
Think i get one just to play the arcade carts...plus i think this is a hint we be getting lots more arcade carts down the line.
Not sure about lots more.. but I'm sure more will be coming.
Evercade said in the comments section of their RUclips video for these that there WILL BE more arcade carts coming this year.
No hdmi output is the killer here. Still no way to play those Capcom gems on the big screen…
Most likely very deliberate.. so you can't do this.
You can play the Capcom games on the big screen via the HDMI Out on the OG EXP :-)
@@jayme69 you sure?
@@CrazyBurger Yes, I've been playing Ghouls n' Ghosts via my EXP HDMI Out and it works great :-)
@@jayme69 lol thought you said OG evercade!
Bit of a cop out that there's two models. I feel that they could have bundled all of the games together on one machine.
Yeah I thought that too. Churning out 2 is unnecessarily complicated.
If you compare it for the price against other bartop arcades, the game selection is fairly generous!
The screen on this is 4:3. They mentioned it in one of their tweets. I haven't seen anything saying the screen can rotate but why would it matter if it's 4:3?
Na I don't think it rotates
if it include capcom action games just like predictor vs alien ,spike out , 刑, final fight 2/3, i will buy it immedicately
A nope from me Evercade has already given me better options
i dont think i will bother, you can get arcade 1up machines for 300
If it was £200 for both then fine, but for each one, then stuff that.
If it had Street Fighter 3 I'd pull the trigger.
I definitely don't have space.. I'll need a clear out if I buy one.
If they made a full sized cabinet, they'll probably give arcade1up some competition. Arcade1up is locked with the games it comes with unless you mod it yourself. This can swap out games with carts. I care for neither one because I use roms on a PC. This product would win the battle if was full sized with swapping carts.
& online Vs mode
Nope. But I am hopeful for more purple because of this.
Passin' on up 🎶 cartridge slot on an aracde cab is great but minus an arcade screen results in missed opportunity. Evercade joystick please.
write a email about the evercade arcade joystick to the blaze evercade support, i did this already and they seem open to this idea, so with more Votes they will maybe deliver it atleast it makes also sense for player 2 on the alpha so both players have same fair chances and controls.
Are the Namco carts compatible with this?
I believe so
thats the reason why it has no hdmi.... because of the namco guys outthere....atleast by selling namco 1+2 collection you can get 1 evercade alpha for the earned money
They sell full size arcade machines for £300 and they come with like 3 games
so £200 for a mini arcade that can play cartridges
this seems great but I need to see more
The Arcade 1up cabs have jumped in price in Argos. Was £299 now £499. You might still get a "bargain" somewhere. Think either way it's a novelty buy.
To expensive for what it is I would rather they just did this cabinet with the basic free games you can unlock and just play the cartridges you already have .
get your 799,99 euro ps5pro without stand, game, disc drive.... atleast the evercade alpha has a IPS(they could also get a cheaper weaker LCD for a lower price but i am glad they choose IPS for better viewing angle when playing 2 player mode) screen, arcade controls and build in games so its basicaly
a evercade VS 100$
plus IPS screen 50$
and arcade stick 100$
and 6 licensed games 30$
pretty artwork and 3 changeable marquees and wooden art = 50$
= 280$ value
My crystal ball is visualising you buying both 🕹🕹
Lol your ball is needing a good wipe!
@CrazyBurger 🤣. I think these look cool. I already have a bar top though, so I'm doubtful I'll get one.
@@the_lynx_cader I'll probably get 1. Or 2. But don't Need one or have space for 2!
I'm going to pre-order the Mega Man one just for shits and giggles... 😆
😏
There’s no way the post pre order price is going to be 2 to 3 times the price, more likely an extra 50 on top 🤷🏻♂️
1:48 The post pre-order prices have already been announced. £230 / €250 / $250
@@OriginalGrasshopper I wasn’t far off then lol 👍🏻
Deff be ordering the megaman one , not interested in the street fighter one
Still awaiting more arcade carts though, feel they been neglected lately but for me they are the only carts generally I now buy
Be fun to play all the other carts on this
Not for me. With three ways to play already I’ve got no need and nowhere to put it anyway!
Why the fuck is Evercade splitting this in two? Makes no damn sense. Just include all the games being offered here in one barcade. This is just stupid.
Great idea, but way overpriced and the artwork on the Street fighter cabinet version is pretty terrible.
Or you can buy an arcade stick plus an emulation device and put 2000 games on it for a fraction of the price.
Too not to.
