I think my favorite foundation for this year is the Revlon Illuminance. For my very dry skin, especially living in an arid environment, this one was really good. I also found an excellent shade match for my skin tone (not easy to find). It was a real win.
I keep hearing about this. I have dry skin and live in northern New England where it is raw and cold. Plus the salt air can be even more drying. My face eats rich moisturizers like they are nothing. I picked up the Physicians Formula Butter foundation and I have to start wearing it. I tried the L’Oréal Balm, and no good.

I really think you might like the Revlon. ❤️ Just for reference I find it to be a lot more moisturizing than the Physicians Formula Butter Foundation (not that the PF is a bad one.... just thought it might help to have a comparison.) The Revlon is probably one of the more dewy and moisturizing foundations I have seen come out in quite a while. I hope this helps! 🤗

My skin is so dry but I remember being in my 20s n loving double wear so I tried it again not long ago and omg it looked horrid I literally looked 80 😂😂 but my fave foundation (minus the fragrance) was the guerlain! My skin looks freaking flawless it smooths like a primer!!!!!! Also love the revlon illuminance mixed w dbronzi drops…, and for light cov I use the lumi glotion as skin tint BEAUTIFUL when paired w givenchy powder!

Another good cream foundation also from Covergirl is the Simply Ageless, it comes in a larger shade range. I get more coverage by applying with a brush

I have to say the Revlon Illuminance has been my foundation of the year ! It does not irritate my dry skin sensitive skin. I love the elf camo powder foundation. I wear it over an oil. I wrote this before I watched it all. It won Viewer’s choice!

I had a surprise favorite that I bought this month. The Fenty stick foundation tint. It’s so skin like and pretty! I love it. And I’ve repurchased the Bobbi Brown Long wear foundation in my proper tone and the EL double wear too!

The Estée Lauder double wear foundation may be great but I have a hard time finding my shade. I have a light olive complexion with dark brown hair and eyes.

Based on your review I went out and purchased the Covergirl Aqua Smooth cream foundation and I CANNOT believe how amazing this foundation is! I have spent most my life looking for the perfect foundation , mostly from highend brands and I really cannot believe how AMAZING this foundation is! So easy to use and great lasting coverage, what a diamond in the rough! I will say though that based on your review I will try the Polite Society one but I cannot imagine liking it better than this one (but you know, I simply HAVE to try it haha) Thank you for the great content, so helpful!

That's a great question Esther! ❤️ I'd love to make a video on that some day! But off the top of my head, for weddings, I like full coverage, long wear formulas that hold up to tears, sweat, and lots of touching (i.e. hugging people...) In particular, I love the Estée Lauder Doublewear, Revlon ColorStay (The oily skin version only) and the L'oreal Hyaluronic tinted serum (which looks so lovely in photos).If I were getting married again though, and could choose my foundation over, I would probably go with the MAC Mineralize SkinFinish Natural, because it can be built up so beautifully to a full coverage without getting cakey, and additionally has a slight "skin-like" sheen to it! 🥰 I hope this helps! Oh also, please make sure to always test your foundation WITH all of the skin care, primer, powders, you plan to use on that day, and take some sample FLASH photos!! Its so important to make sure there isn't a sunscreen or other hidden ingredient that can cause flashback. (I've seen pictures where the bride's face is completely white and washed out, while the neck is a completely different color. So I always like to make sure I share that tip!) ❤️🤗❤️
Great question! 🙂 I am actually a neutral undertone. (I have a mixture of pink and yellow undertones.) And I'm guessing from your comment above, where you mentioned that you like Cool Vanilla from No 7 that you are probably a neutral undertone gal as well. Of course the only way I could know for sure would be to see your face. But if you feel like Cool Vanilla is a good match for you, and doesn't look too "grey" on your skin, then I'm guessing you're neutral. Also, are you able to get away with wearing both gold and silver jewelry fairly easy without them looking like they clash against your skin? If so, probably neutral. I hope this helps! Wonderful choices, I’m sure! My skin is so picky, I’m sticking with the Missha Perfect Cover. I’ve recently added the Revlon Colorstay Oily/ Combo. I always tried the Dry version, and found it good but overrated (terrific shade match for me though, so I wore it til a reformulation). The Oily/ Combo is so much better! Also almost finished with my Physician’s Formula mineral powder- I looked for it and couldn’t find it at Walmart. 😔 I’d planned to send your package a little after Xmas (the Post Office lost my sister’s birthday package and I’m still angry) and forgot I needed to send your Xmas card BEFORE Xmas. I’m a dork. 🤦🏼♀️

@@foundationlady We are doing a big move soon! We pushed it, though, because our open area paint color cured PINK on us, and I can’t live with it. Behr paint can be so durable, but I’ve had bad experiences with it in the past, and I should’ve known better. It looked beautiful for about 1.5 weeks, then turned blushy taupe. 🤦🏼♀️ And that was after trying about 30 wall samples (my husband has never painted before, and didn’t know about undertones: it’s been quite the education 😆).

You are so right Loretta! ❤️ I noticed when I was putting together my end of year videos that I barely did any tints... I think I think I did more medium to full coverage this year because I was having such a difficult time with my skin breaking out, and I gravitated more towards those formulas that would give me more coverage. But thanks to my dermatologist, I'm starting to work that out, and have already ordered some new lighter coverage tints and serums for 2024! If you're interested in past tints, I really enjoy the Glossier skin Tint, and the Neutrogena Healthy Skin serum Foundation. I like the maybelline skin tint I think it leaves a beautiful finish on the skin I’m 67 years old so a lot of foundations don’t look great on me …wishing you a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year Year
The Revlon Colorstay foundation for normal to oily skin is much better than the Almay! I think the Maybelline dream mousse is a fabulous cream foundation. Serum foundation winner is still Perricone, tho I hate the price.

@@foundationlady Perricone is the OG serum no make up make up. It is the best *serum. As make up, it's meh. I prefer medium coverage at minimum. I use primer with the Maybelline serum, and it lasts. 👍
Love Estée Lauder foundations they have the closest to my skintone. I love double wear , hydra rescue , light wear so sad they discontinued it . And love armani , I tried L’Oréal didn’t look as good and went away fast . Armani has a mini . I have dry skin I like Jane Iredale powder one .

My skin is so dry but I remember being in my 20s n loving double wear so I tried it again not long ago and omg it looked horrid I literally looked 80 😂😂 but my fave foundation (minus the fragrance) was the guerlain! My skin looks freaking flawless it smooths like a primer!!!!!! Also love the revlon illuminance mixed w dbronzi drops…, and for light cov I use the lumi glotion as skin tint BEAUTIFUL when paired w givenchy powder!

I have to say the Revlon Illuminance has been my foundation of the year ! It does not irritate my dry skin sensitive skin. I love the elf camo powder foundation. I wear it over an oil. I wrote this before I watched it all. It won Viewer’s choice!

I had a surprise favorite that I bought this month. The Fenty stick foundation tint. It’s so skin like and pretty! I love it. And I’ve repurchased the Bobbi Brown Long wear foundation in my proper tone and the EL double wear too!

The Estée Lauder double wear foundation may be great but I have a hard time finding my shade. I have a light olive complexion with dark brown hair and eyes.

Based on your review I went out and purchased the Covergirl Aqua Smooth cream foundation and I CANNOT believe how amazing this foundation is! I have spent most my life looking for the perfect foundation , mostly from highend brands and I really cannot believe how AMAZING this foundation is! So easy to use and great lasting coverage, what a diamond in the rough! I will say though that based on your review I will try the Polite Society one but I cannot imagine liking it better than this one (but you know, I simply HAVE to try it haha) Thank you for the great content, so helpful!

You also introduce foundations that I never knew existed! I have to say that the foundation I liked best on you was the air brushed foundation. And, I am definitely picking up the Relove foundation, as I love to mix matte foundations with BB creams.

What foundation do you love for photographs/wedding day?
That's a great question Esther! ❤️ I'd love to make a video on that some day! But off the top of my head, for weddings, I like full coverage, long wear formulas that hold up to tears, sweat, and lots of touching (i.e. hugging people...) In particular, I love the Estée Lauder Doublewear, Revlon ColorStay (The oily skin version only) and the L'oreal Hyaluronic tinted serum (which looks so lovely in photos).If I were getting married again though, and could choose my foundation over, I would probably go with the MAC Mineralize SkinFinish Natural, because it can be built up so beautifully to a full coverage without getting cakey, and additionally has a slight "skin-like" sheen to it! 🥰 I hope this helps! Oh also, please make sure to always test your foundation WITH all of the skin care, primer, powders, you plan to use on that day, and take some sample FLASH photos!! Its so important to make sure there isn't a sunscreen or other hidden ingredient that can cause flashback. (I've seen pictures where the bride's face is completely white and washed out, while the neck is a completely different color. So I always like to make sure I share that tip!) ❤️🤗❤️

Great question! 🙂 I am actually a neutral undertone. (I have a mixture of pink and yellow undertones.) And I'm guessing from your comment above, where you mentioned that you like Cool Vanilla from No 7 that you are probably a neutral undertone gal as well. Of course the only way I could know for sure would be to see your face. But if you feel like Cool Vanilla is a good match for you, and doesn't look too "grey" on your skin, then I'm guessing you're neutral. Also, are you able to get away with wearing both gold and silver jewelry fairly easy without them looking like they clash against your skin? If so, probably neutral. I hope this helps! Wonderful choices, I’m sure! My skin is so picky, I’m sticking with the Missha Perfect Cover. I’ve recently added the Revlon Colorstay Oily/ Combo. I always tried the Dry version, and found it good but overrated (terrific shade match for me though, so I wore it til a reformulation). The Oily/ Combo is so much better! Also almost finished with my Physician’s Formula mineral powder- I looked for it and couldn’t find it at Walmart. 😔 I’d planned to send your package a little after Xmas (the Post Office lost my sister’s birthday package and I’m still angry) and forgot I needed to send your Xmas card BEFORE Xmas. I’m a dork. 🤦🏼♀️

Also, I'm in TOTAL agreement with you on the Revlon ColorStay oily version being so much better than the dry skin version! To me, it's almost like they are two completely different foundations! So I just buy the oily/ combo and slap on the hydrating primer first. 😂

@@foundationlady We are doing a big move soon! We pushed it, though, because our open area paint color cured PINK on us, and I can’t live with it. Behr paint can be so durable, but I’ve had bad experiences with it in the past, and I should’ve known better. It looked beautiful for about 1.5 weeks, then turned blushy taupe. 🤦🏼♀️ And that was after trying about 30 wall samples (my husband has never painted before, and didn’t know about undertones: it’s been quite the education 😆).

You are so right Loretta! ❤️ I noticed when I was putting together my end of year videos that I barely did any tints... I think I think I did more medium to full coverage this year because I was having such a difficult time with my skin breaking out, and I gravitated more towards those formulas that would give me more coverage. But thanks to my dermatologist, I'm starting to work that out, and have already ordered some new lighter coverage tints and serums for 2024! If you're interested in past tints, I really enjoy the Glossier skin Tint, and the Neutrogena Healthy Skin serum Foundation. Both offer a very light coverage, with a healthy looking finish! ❤️ Happy Holidays to you and yours! 🎄💕⭐️

The Revlon Colorstay foundation for normal to oily skin is much better than the Almay! I think the Maybelline dream mousse is a fabulous cream foundation.
Serum foundation winner is still Perricone, tho I hate the price.

Perricone is the OG serum no make up make up. It is the best *serum. As make up, it's meh. I prefer medium coverage at minimum. I use primer with the Maybelline serum, and it lasts. 👍

Love Estée Lauder foundations they have the closest to my skintone. I love double wear , hydra rescue , light wear so sad they discontinued it . And love armani , I tried L’Oréal didn’t look as good and went away fast . Armani has a mini . I have dry skin I like Jane Iredale powder one .
