  • S&K Purple Martin House, that I tore out interior Center Wall, making the Nesting Cavity Bigger. Added Improved Ventilation on Sides, Roof, and the Backs of Nesting Cavity. Makes the house more Martin friendly - giving them more room, inside.

Thank you. S&K and others need to look at their design. The birds need room, especially when their are large families. It becomes a huge issue a week or so, before they fledge. The babies are so big, the parents have a hard time feeding the ones that really need it.

Venting the houses works great, here in Texas. The birds get too hot, especially the late bloomers. I keep them plugged until the nights are in the mid 70s.

You buy the Tri Adapter from S&k. Pound the thing over the 2" round pole. Buttons push into the house part.

Looks great! I have the same model and can't figure out how to mount it on a pole.

Good modification by making the rooms deeper. I would suggest that you stagger the front entrances instead of making all 3 entrances side by side. "Male porch dominance" causes the male martins to defend their territory against other martins nesting too close. This video explains it: ruclips.net/video/ERNa4HXaS74/видео.htmlm56s
