Last story. Gather the evidence of trespass, harassment, bad mouthing, etc. and file for a restraining order. Violating the order will be criminal and civil. Sue him until you own his house. Evict him. Problem solved!
Last story. Call the sheriff and have the neighbor and his family formally with a trespass notice not to enter your property. Put up game cameras to monitor. Illegally parked vehicles can be towed at owner's expense. The cost to tow a semi if very expensive. Fifty cars? Call a tow company and tell him to bring is friends for some easy money. Use the system against him at every turn until he starts acting right.
Last story: your neighbor only understands one thing: matched intimidation. Make sure you “bring a friend” with you when outside tending your property. He’ll get the message.
As to the first story the manager handled that perfectly and the jerk learned the world doesnt revolve around him. The jerk in the second story got whatbhe deserved. A criminal record. As to the third she got what she deserved. Nothing. And she had to pay two thousand dollars. As to the last story that op is smart to install cameras and a fence. The idiot neighbor is going to learn a very expensive lesson.
Story 3: That's why you ALWAYS provide clear documentation regarding change orders and payment! You always have a contract that states payment terms if they are excessive in their changes! OP goofed in not specifying that any delay due to changes THEY request outside the original specifications require immediate full or 75% partial payment, with additional charges for the requested changes!
a fence is not gonna do much. he'll likely knock it down and park. I know OP cant afford much but he needs to at least have police come over and have the neighbor at least officially trespassed. meaning he had been warned to stay off and next time will be trespassing. set up any kind of security cameras (hiding). these are the cheapest routes at first. expensive route...get security cameras, put up signs saying "no trespassing" facing his property. then next time he does stuff...get a lawyer. just getting a lawyer wont be helpful. op needs to create a paper trail or at least proof. without proof, he could argue "he never was told" then becomes a he said/he said argument
The last story, as it has been said far too many times. *NEVER* confront trespassers, *IMMEDIATELY* call the police und let them do their job. Und no matter what they try to claim, trespassing is a criminal und *NOT* a "civil matter."
Last story; are there laws in your state regarding planting land mines in your own property. Be sure to post adequate signage warning your neighbors regarding the fact along with no trespassing signs. Should a mine be triggered it will obviously be his fault.
Happy Independence Day to all of us who are in the U.S. Have a great day everyone. Remember this: if your urine isn't clear, you are not drinking enough water. Water and beer mix perfectly, one after another.
1-Bravo on the manager. I feel bad for the son as he will become the brunt of bullying and, since his dad doesn't approve of fighting his son is going to come home worse for wear on a regular basis OR... the son will be the bully and dad will blame the bar. 2-Good on you. 3-Did you draw up a contract and did they sign the contract for what you were doing? Did you get a signature on the CO? and the second one? ad-infinitem? While I didn't hear anything about a signed contract I'm glad the judge saw that you were being played. 4-You should have had the cars towed. The cop can say what ever he wants, you need to make a formal complaint about the incident, at the police station, so it's in the police record should something more serious come up.
Neighbor keeps trespassing? That's when you leave a 3/4 full bottle of vodka on your patio table... but have it 3/4 full of gasline antifreeze ( methyl hydrate).
The sports bar should have never changed the program on the TV. Regardless of how entitled the father acted, waiting until the order was in before putting the fights back on makes him the asshole.
Last story: Arrange for car pickups on call with a towing company. Then put up signs... "PARKING: $100 PER HOUR" I would think that the police could help you then.
Sports bar story: If you don't want your kid(s) exposed to inappropriate things, don't take them to places that are inappropriate for them. Property story: Talk to your solicitor about a fence along your actual property lines. Be sure to pull any required permits and follow all pertinent laws/regulations when building it. MARK-1 story: Always get a contract and ensure that any requested changes cost THEM! I hope that check didn't bounce. Bad neighbor story: I think a shotgun could be useful.
The first story, how much do you want to bet if the OP had taken the family to Hooters, or someplace similar. That the father would complain about the uniforms und demand that they be changed.
Oh yeah be sure to put such contingencies your contract in such a situation. With out a clear map of how changes are to be billed you won't get payed for them. Even though they're a corporation they still are cheapskates in the end.
The North Carolina story sounds of a little made up or law enforcement just doesn't want to do their job. I live in North Carolina and as long as you post no trespassing signs trespassing or formally have them trespassed it then becomes a criminal matter and if they're being caught on CCTV have them arrested. I know this is factual because I have had a similar problem in the past. Also cars being parked on your property you do have the authority to have them towed at the owner's expense. I've been there and done that as well
About the sports bar story, i thought children were not allowed in bars or anywhere alcohol is served. But maybe that was in some other country where that is allowed, but i think it should not be allowed.
young boys like to watch Boxing/Wrestling its common and expected in a sports bar those parents are way over protective I remember watching Wrestling highlights on Saturday morning when I was that age as younger brother was a major wrestling fan at one point my parents wanted to take him and my cousin Joey to a match when WWF came to Boston but Uncle Joe said no Joey was too young at age 10 to go to a wrestling match then my Brother played JV Football his freshman year of high school as a left tackle though he was released from the team for poor grades at the end of the season
Database Story: OP was foolish, when he was forced to Sue to get Paid, he should have Sued for the original Contractual $2,000.00 AND the money he's owed for all the Change Requests... Each CR is a Legal Amendment to the Original Contract and increases the money the Client Legally Owes OP for his work...
I think the problem there would be in proving to the court that those changes were ever requested. Without any documentation (which he should have asked for after each request and obtained before fulfulling the request), the court would, effectively, say "you don't have evidence that these changes were requested, so you get nothing for them." The OP was actually smart not to even mention these, since the courts hate what they see as time-wasters who make claims which they have no evidence to support.
@@melkiorwiseman5234 OP mentioned in the story that each time they asked for something new, he would create a Change Request so he had the Documentation to prove his Case in Court...
@@HappilyHomicidalHooligan In real life, it would be difficult to prove that those changes had been requested and approved by the client unless he also got signatures, which he doesn't mention. But most of the stories taken off reddit are fiction anyway, so it's likely this story is fiction too.
I feel like the owner of the sports bar was a tad bit in the wrong as well. Intentionally waiting until they placed an order to switch the tv back is kinda a dick move since he was going to force them to pay for it even before it came out. Even if hte family was being unreasonable with the tv.
No he wasn't. The dad was inconveniencing EVERYONE else at the bar! OP, any other customers, the servers, the manager/owner ... it was only right that the dad PAY for it! And it wasn't like they weren't getting the food!
This guy want everyone 🛑 watching UFC fight and trying his kids an excuse but I think he just UFC fight or sports. If this not like sports why to sports bar

Last story, NC check your "castle doctrine" laws.
Last story. If OP's having trouble figuring out what to do, I have an idea.
It involves a crowbar, a blanket and some severe wall-to-wall counseling.
Man takes a child to a Sports Bar and doesn't want the kid exposed to ( violent ) sports ... I am going to guess that kid has never seen a NFL game.
Last story: your neighbor only understands one thing: matched intimidation. Make sure you “bring a friend” with you when outside tending your property.

Probably Buffalo Wild Wings or something like that. Not a true bar.

I would have him pay to remove anything he place on the land at his own expense and the lawyer fees and the cost of the security cameras
He brought his child to a bar… He doesn’t care about his kids.

What part of "bar" was he not getting about "sports bar"? Was the bar not family friendly enough?
First story. The father was in the wrong.
"invading my yard by 50 cars"? Ummm. OK. I take English is your editor's 16th language?
It was "invading my yard by over 50 yards." Only later in the story did the OP talk about "50 cars parked on my lawn."
