    I'm finding that last story a bit odd. A mother dies in a tragic accident and the son doesn't find out until he returns from deployment? And between those two points, a third party had the time to forge up documents, complete land transactions, and hire builders? For the first part, I call BS. There's no way that the police wouldn't be able to find the OP as next of kin, and would have notified him through his command. That command would have immediately given the OP an emergency leave and they would have been home within about 72 hours.

      I agree totally. A simple title search plus a look at bank records to see if any money had changed hands would have been enough evidence. That eye witness stuff is complete BS and inadmissible in court. Anyone who waves a bit of paper and says "I have the deeds" should be laughed at and so should any story that claims someone forged the documents. The title deed documents you have of your house are simply your copy of the real deeds that are held by your town hall or county recorder's office and they would be alot harder to change.

    In regard to the last story about the veteran, here in the US there are federal laws protecting the assets (land, houses, cars, trucks, and so forth) of all active-duty personnel from all kinds of actions. Not only huge fines are involved, but also jail time depending on what the offender did, value of the asset(s) and so-on. Over the years this has tripped up many greedy parties, from landlords, to spouses or other family members, as you can imagine. Most active duty are aware of these laws, as they are usually briefed on them not only when deployed but also on rotating back State-side with briefing paperwork containing details of whatever legal service that member has available to them. Depending on their branch of service and where they were activated from, this legal service could be run by their branch of service; or - if for example they were in a reserve unit - lawyers in their area may volunteer for their service. Civilian lawyers do qualify for a reasonable payment from the federal gov., usually tied again back to the value of the asset(s) involved; but many will often refuse even that as they take pride in helping a service member subjected to an illegal and unfair action. Don't mess with veterans!

      @@MarLin.- It is odd for sure. When my hubby's grandmother died while we were in Italy, the red Cross had someone there to notify him the very next day. A few years later it was his Uncle and we were Stateside at the time assigned to White Sands in AZ; so no excuse for being overseas. His parents (all happening in OH, so not exactly next door) reached out to us by phone the same day (a traffic accident). But the "official" notification didn't happen until almost 2 weeks later when we'd returned from his emergency leave for the funeral. He did ask as to why the late notice but never got a straight answer. The "funny" part of it was his captain asked him if wanted more emergency leave to go home for the funeral, and an advance on his pay to cover plane tickets! He passed on that as we'd just gotten back 2 days earlier.

    Yeah the first story, I get it’s their land and can do anything they want with it, but these neighbors were willing to pay and fix any damage caused.
    I get they want to be alone, I get it’s their land, and they can celebrate the holidays however they want to but it just seems a bit assholish to say no even when upfront offered compensation. OP loses nothing.

    • @Animeaddiction
      @Animeaddiction 3 месяца назад +2

      As the narrator said, it was OP's land and it's none of the neighbor's business as to what he does or does not do with his property. Furthermore, how it upset the plans of the neighbor's relatives is none of OP's business. Trying to guilt-trip OP due to the holidays that he doesn't celebrate is just being desperate. She should have accepted it. And there's no guarantee the neighbor would have kept her promise to pay for damages. Best not to let them park in the first place

      @@Animeaddiction just because hes in the right legally, doesn't mean hes in the right morally.
      Helping your neighbors when you can is one of the most basic of basics in terms of morals. It's on the far end of his property, so he wouldn't be disturbed and they were willing to pay him on top of promising to fix any damage. OP was just being meiserly.

    • @Ragetiger1
      @Ragetiger1 3 месяца назад +2

      There's also the off chance of something happening to the vehicles while on OP's land, making them responsible for it Since rain was mentioned, they could have also gotten stuck in the mud and needing to be towed - again at OP's cost.

    • @Ser_Matticus
      @Ser_Matticus 3 месяца назад +4

      @@Ragetiger1 presumably if they were willing to pay and even make repairs then they would brush off any towing, even still it was indicated the yard was being maintained and the parking just tore up the neighbors yard no one got stuck.

    • @Animeaddiction
      @Animeaddiction 3 месяца назад +2

      @@TheMightySceptile you saw what happened to the neighbor's yard. OP knew that would happen to his yard if he let them park there. Again, he has no guarantee that the neighbors would pay. Again, the moral dilemma is none of OP's business. Why not have the relatives park their cars in a nearby paid parking lot and carpool to the neighbor's home? Using the 'have a heart' is nothing but a guilt-trip tactic.
      The reason why OP bought the two lots was to keep things quiet. Having several cars park there and people going back and forth is going to ruin that, not to mention ruin the yard.
      You might see it as being an a-hole, but you have to be more pragmatic and respect his boundaries.

    Op’s grandpa died and gave op the huge property. Op lived in another country. Couldn’t go to properly for years (like around 20). He gets a letter from hoa to stop staking claim to it. They took it, paid property taxes and built 100 homes…aka an enter community
    Op went there and saw it was true. Been there for years. Families, kids, streets
    Took more years to get land back (proven hoa bribed people to get land). Op got millions, 100 households lost their homes (most got compensated) and hoa got prison and to demolish entire community

      Just remember that the house was in the mother's name, not OP's at the time. Now, naturally when the parent dies, if there is no will, then all assets and properties would have automatically been granted to the child. Since OP was out of the country at the time, so it was difficult for the attorney to contact him. What Karen did was completely illegal and I was not surprised that she had some corrupted officials who sanctioned the buyout.
      As for being notified of his mother's death, that can take days or even weeks. Now if the service member dies overseas, then the immediate family is contacted very quickly.

The property they wanted to park on wasn't going to increase the noise level by one decibel but you just wanted to be an ass. Congratulations! Now everybody knows.

    First story: OP is, in fact, a nasty neighbour. I have an acreage at the edge of a rural community where the neighbours are closer together and there are few parking spots. With the ditch on my side of the road, parking can be difficult. I also have a second driveway that is only used by my tractor when I want to mow the fields.
    I am happy to let people park there for overflow situations, and have never had any damage or inconvenience. What I do have is a bunch of neighbours who share venison, elk, prawns, salmon and all kinds of other things they catch, not to mention the number of great parties I have been welcomed to.
    Sorry, OP, but this old lady thinks you are a complete doofus. If there is ever a fire I wonder if the Volunteer Fire Department will show up in time to save your house?

      Wow that's nice that you would let people completely destroy your lawn.. and I'm sure that their offer of paying you for it you know even though they're complete strangers you've never really talked to them before and you have no idea if they're actually going to repair your damaged lawn which they probably wouldn't is such a good reason to let them do it . AND WTF DOES THE FIRE DEPT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS? (Unless the neighbors are INDEED THE FIRE DEPT...THIS COMMENT IS JUST A LEFT FIELD JUSTIFICATION THAT MAKES NO SENSE IN HELL..STOP IT )
      IT'S THE OP'S LAND PLAIN AND SIMPLE,
      JUST BECAUSE YOU'RE SUCH A SAINTLY NEIGHBOR ,DON'T PUT OTHER PEOPLE ON YOUR LEVEL OF WHAT YOU THINK IS "RIGHT".
      IF YOU WANT TO LET OTHER PEOPLE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU THAT'S FINE AND GOOD, BUT OTHER PEOPLE'S PROBLEMS ARE NOT OP'S PROBLEMS. HE LITERALLY SAID THEY DESTROYED THEIR LAWN COMPLETELY AND THEY WANTED MORE PEOPLE TO COME THEN THEY HAD FOR THANKSGIVING SO WE DON'T KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE GOING TO SHOW UP AND COMPLETELY DESTROY HIS PROPERTY AND JUST A LITTLE VERBAL "OH WE'LL FIX IT"???
      JUST A BIT OF ADVICE "OLD LADY" , IF YOU CAN'T FIND THE ENTITLED " WELL ITS NOT LIKE YOUR EVEN USING YOUR LAND, SO YOU SHOULD JUST LET ME USE IT" KAREN IN THE ROOM ..... IT'S YOU.

      Bet he has lots of friends, being such a good person and all. If he goes away for vaca/job & a break in occurs, neighbors will see and do nothing. House smoking? Water leaking out front door? Nope, not helping.
      Considerate neighbors can benefit both sides, this was a small ask.

    Wow, that first story the Op is a dick.So are you Redwheel for the way you answered. What would it hurt to allow them to park on land you're not using for a couple of weeks during the holidays. And they're even willing to pay. Does the Op have to allow it? No. But for God's sake, be a human being.

      While the title says "EntitledPeople" and there are lots of those. Clearly, the script writer is incompetent. The title is unusually correct this time. Quite often, have to squint to see the title story or title story just isn't there. This time, the title story is quite clearly the last one.

      If you watch the very beginning of the video when the hand draws out what kind of stories will be in this video, it clearly says malicious compliance. 0:04
