I can't even really explain how impressive this guy is. It's almost inhuman the way he thrashes on the drums with such poise and precision. He's the kind of musician that can single-handedly make his group better and more confident in their own playing just by the way he kills it

I love how his timing fluctuations actually add more aggression to the parts!!! This guy is fucking nuts, has endurance, power, groove, detail, great choices of sounds, creativity.....absolutely amazing!
Because human time is not as perfect as a metronome or a drum machine, and that adds character. Being sloppy and unable to play is one thing, but what you mention is a whole other thing, and it's true what it adds; the human factor. Most "extreme" metal drummers these days are so busy trying to achieve the elusive 300 BPM that they are losing the groove and human feel in their playing and relying on triggers to the point where you may as well have a drum machine ticking away in the background. Couldn't agree with you more, here.
Cara, o brasileiro é muito de babar ovo de gringo e vendo o Eloy tocar, temos que reconhecer, que na atualidade, ele é o melhor. Eu vi este vídeo a primeira vez quando foi postado e estou vendo de nov hoje. Ressuscitou o SEPULTURA em grande estilo e força. Pena que o pessoal é chato e fica perdendo o tempo comparando isso e aquilo. Este é o ponto negativo de assumir o posto de outro músico em banda renomada.

This is the best drummer that Sepultura ever had, and even thou, it's even better than Igor.
He was better than Igor at age 10. Eloy is on a whole different level.

I watched this guy less than a month ago and he broke his snare, multiple sticks and I think he trashed a symbol all-in-one show. Power, performance and precision all-in-one! I went in being a Sepultura fan and I came out an Eloy fan.

Playing at that intensity, CONSISTENTLY ...is AMAZING. it's not just hitting hard and being in shape..just hitting hard doesn't make drums sound good.. its how you hit em (and tuning).. but ya, being able to finesse everything (like this guy does) while basically being in the boxing ring (drumming like this is like all out brawling).. it's no joke. Obviously his chops, ability, musicality on drumkit is top notch..
But honestly.. I've never seen this guy lose a smidgen of the intensity during songs/sets. Consistently hitting each drum/cymbal just right, ALL WHILE BLAZING SADDLES.

I remember a shy, slight young man walking out on the stage at Modern Drummer festival at like 15 years old, playing a very nice drum solo...and now he is this mega-beast on the drums playing with ultimate ferocity and fire providing major baterista to fuel Sepultura...one of my very favorite groups! I would never have predicted that...but what a perfect match for Sepultura!
And now he is going to Slipknot! So good to see his journey and his evolution

Broh......I had NO IDEA... that the newest incarnation of Sepultura had brought a beast on board to this degree. I admit I haven't listened to Sepultura for awhile, but I'm going to go back and give attention to every record this drummer is on. Automatically slid into my current top 5 in just one video. Dude hits SO hard! Beats are so tasty. Just.. beast. Dude is ILL!

Merece ser o baterista da maior banda brasileira de Rock. Apesar de vez ou outra ouvir Os Mutantes e Secos E Molhados, tá pra aparecer uma banda brasileira em qualquer vertente do Rock com o nome, penetração, relevância, respeito, reconhecimento, fãs devotos etc. etc. internacionalmente igual ao Sepultura. I love how his speed actually shows, namely on the double kickers. Heel toe double strokes are very useful and energy saving forsure but it’s nice to see someone reach those speeds and put in the workmanship with his technique.
