Only Colts fans know about Dayo Odeyingbo but dude is a monster. I think he has 10 sacks this year and that is only playing part time. Also, don’t forget about Alec Pierce. I know everyone is excited about AD but Pierce is a great deep ball receiver and couldn’t really show that off much with Minshew as our QB last year..
Don’t forget about Drew Ogletree at TE. Watch the game-tying drive against the Rams last season, dude’s a gamer.

Alec Pierce is a solid deep threat also. Last year we didn't have a QB that could really get it down the field
Wrong Pittman and downs caught deep balls and pierce was never open
Whenever pitman and downs were open. Downfield they were thrown ball all’s pierce was terrible in the 4 games Richardson played

You got two things wrong in this brotha. First Jaylon Jones college stats were pretty dang good but beyond that you might be surprised to learn that he was statistically the Colts’ best corner last season. Look it up.
Second, the DID have a receiver that consistently (almost every snap) get behind secondaries and stretch the field. Pierce. In fact, he ran more yards from scrimmage than ANY other receiver in the league last season. By FAR.
The problem was Minshew couldn’t get it to him between anticipation and arm strength.
Wrong problem is he was never open he ranked 138th in separation rate

@@AlexRosner-v8tseparation comes from breaks in the route numbnuts, literally any wide receiver aside from Tyreek Hill, Calvin Johnson, and Randy Moss would have terrible separation numbers if they were literally told every single snap "hey, you don't get a chance to separate at anywhere on the route aside from the release off the line of scrimmage."

Pierce caught one too. That doesn’t change that Gardener doesn’t really have the arm to throw them and when he does try it’s often off target or poorly timed

Didnt they hype up alex pierce just like this when he was drafted?While Mitchell might end up being great it isnt usually until uear 2 when they finally take off. So we will have to be patient and wait and see. I thinh they should trade pierce before the season and try to get better at cb or safety.

Steichen loved running spread empty in Philadelphia and would have done the same on the Colts if we had a competent WR4. Expect to see Pitt or AD slide into the slot and have all 4 of them out there frequently on 3rd downs.
