Colt’s struck GOLD on this pick, also picked up draft picks 142 and 155 by trading back and luckily still having him available.
And, they struck GOLD and possibly DIAMOND with the potential best defensive player in the draft in Laiatu Latu, A monumental day in Colts history. They are building the perfect team around Richardson. Now it's up to the coaching staff to get the most out of the roster and develop Richardson into a winning NFL qb. A qb who can win the big games and take them all the way. That part remains to be seen. (Giants fan btw, but super excited about the future of IND)
@@TheBerninatorHawk84 A Giants fan following the Colts. How sweet is that! Many Colts fan followed the Giants when we both had Mannings…. 😉
This is my favorite receiver in the draft.
maybe 5th
@@TheDennzio Favorite doesn't mean best but ass usual time will tell...
Favorites gotta be Keon Coleman, seems hilarious. Happy colts got AD though
Best case scenario he’s around 4th or 5th. The top 3 are well clear of everyone else. After the top 3 he’s competing with Brian Thomas & Ladd McConkey who I think are better receivers than him. I do think he’ll be a better pro than Xavier Worthy, Keon Coleman, & Roman Wilson. The college star WRs that made a living off purely their speed then rise in draft ratings into the 1st rd bc of their 40 time like Worthy has almost always bust out. Just in the last 10 years there’ve been over 10 of them that’ve all been busts. Worthy has practically zero chance of being able to beat press coverage; he’s not strong like a Tyreke Hill.
He has route pacing that doesn’t always mean going full speed but that doesn’t mean it’s just not in his arsenal anymore. There was a clip were he lulled the safety to sleep and blew by him full speed with like 5 yards of cushion for a TD. And plenty of other clips showing he’s still winning when he accelerates at the last moment and shields the ball for the jump ball win despite an easier pace at first. I’ve seen plenty of speedy NFL receivers who lack that ball shielding trait and can’t really slow down for the catch well. Mitchell is only getting better and will expand on his body control to use going full speed once in the league. His only real criticism is that he could finish his routes with more intensity/physicality and not go for easier going finishes just because he got the early separation quickly. He’s got all the polish and ability to frame guys off. Just needs to add that new dimension to his game.
This almost perfectly articulates how I feel about AD. People are overreacting to the whole "effort issues" idea.
Slowing down theoretically improves control, and its important to run with control rather than full speed all the time which can be reckless and impair vision. Kinda like kamara's running pace. he can vary his speeds and then burst when lanes open up
@@user-zv3hz4dy7g yeah more composure allows for more micro adjustments at the catch point. 4.3 speed means he can do that and hit that extra gear if still needed. I think that’s a part of why he is such a red zone threat because he knows how to maintain and release that intensity to win at critical times.
Exactly bro, they don’t understand that part because they go solely off what they see and measurables!
Deebo has the same reputation for taking plays off and he used that reputation to absolutely walk in for a touchdown after a fake sweep. Having a changeup in your bag can be an asset if it's used correctly. Time will tell.
I laughed so hard when the Chiefs chose Worthy over Mitchell. They only focused on the speed, but Adonai has some crisp route running! He's gonna outshine Worthy in every department.
AD Mitchell is the 4th best receiver in the draft and closer to 3rd rather than 5th. Colts killed it with this pick!
Love this pick by the colts! And now he’s got a chip on his shoulder so he’ll be even more hungry to prove himself….
Title was updated fast!
AD Mitchell has two of the biggest catches in UGA history... CFB history even
Almost had the biggest one in Texas history, too.
Congrats on 100k!
Let's be honest here. Adonai's production would have been a lot better if his QB was better. Ewers is good, but he doesn't have great anticipation or accuracy. He doesn't need to see his guy wide open, but he does wait until he sees the window opening. This limits YAC, and has him move off reads to early. It also means he doesn't let his guys just make plays, except in "have to have it" situations. It also seems like Quinn doesn't practice these things a lot, especially the goal-to-go one-on-one type situations. If Quinn had been comfortable throwing more back shoulders and jump balls, Michell would have had a lot more yards and touchdowns. That's all the stuff before we get to all the other weapons the ball was going to. None of the other round one receivers had a situation he did. Every one of the non-qb skill position starters around him were drafted this year.
WELCOME TO THE COLTS MAN!!
Great analysis and you nailed the slide into the 2nd round as well.
I think he’ll end up a top 3 reciver in the class and is probably the best route runner other than Marvin he is great at using diffrent speeds to create sepperation and runs some of the best slant routes I’ve ever seen
bro predicted the future
When I hear body control I immediately think of Nuk, same build too. AD may have faster 40 but not play speed.
He faster than Nuk bro
I've had to resubscribe to your channel 3 times now. I don't know why
i see justin jefferson more than anybody when i watch him. not as explosive off the line or as physical but the fluidity and body control looks identical. i can see bust factor for a few reasons but if he’s coached well i think he can be a number 1 for many teams
Raven
Reggie Wayne is his coach
Is there a place where we can look at all the charts you guys make or are you pulling those from PFF?
🤠Reception🤠
That was funny 😂
I think I might draft a few of these rookie receivers. Hopefully snag a gem like Puka became last year. Might as well if you can't get a teams WR1.
I agree I feel like something is missing
Damn and we got our guy yessir
He’ll be a great Chief
4:50 lol
His wr coach, hall of famer Reggie Wayne, will make him a lot better.
6:19 like Deebo Samuel, but all season Deebo was blatantly lazy and much worse with the effort when he knows he’s not getting the ball. As a Niners fan it’s crazy how few people call him out on it. I only see QB School/JT O’Sullivan call him out every week in his Purdy analysis videos.
Watch the Texas 2023 spring game. Adonai has an incredible catch
Kinda sounds like George Pickens
My bet would be AD over BTJ
Minneapolis - Down in the Valley and Electric Fetus. Check them out!
My favorite receiver in the draft. And in the air, he is silky, smooth, like CeeDee Lamb!
Can’t believe the colts snagged him
I need a Troy Franklin video
Deciding between AD, Troy Franklin, and Ladd… tough choice imo.
AD has the highest ceiling and Ladd is the best route runner by far. Troy is just fast, nothing special.
Anyone notice the combine grades have changed since some of these videos
The Tyler Lockett comparison isn't bad. Lockett is smaller, but they both have some sweet shifty moves.
Am I crazy; he reminds me of Diggs with his great route running but lack of YAC. Diggs slides or goes OOB asap on most routes but he runs smooth routes and has good hands in tight windows. AD plays a similar way. Does anyone else see it? 🧐
Adonai has blazing timed 40 but don't see it on film. Got a little Davante Adams in him with his route running. Will be a nice #2 WR in an offense
i think if he falls enough and goes to a team like the Panthers he can immediately be super high upside guy with a chance to become a WR1 very quickly
@@luckymango1963or he could go to the Panthers and never get developed lol.
AD or Ladd are going to be in KC mark my words
That’s my top two guys for them as well but it’s gonna come down to if they are still there at 32. It doesn’t seem like anyone is willing to trade with KC at this point.
@@cjboyer4355 that’s fine somebody is going to fall and corners and qbs are going to go higher than ever based on the wages these guys cost in free agency. 6 qbs in the first round 5 dbs, 5 tackles, 2 guards, 1 center, some random reach as always, that leaves 10wrs with first and high 2nd round grades chiefs will get somebody at 32 and if they’re smart they’ll find a way to go up to like 37 on day 2 and go get another. Rice is going to be gone for half the season maybe more you have to get 2 studs in this class. You’ll have Ross, the rugby flier, a practice squad dude maybe bring back Powell to fight it out in camp and two studs. Ladd is probably our guy and a lot of mocks have him falling out of the first all together. He’s the type of kid that you take in the first to secure that fifth year.
@@dereksmidl8352 ehh idk if 6 QB’s are going in the first I could see Penix and Nix falling out of the first similar to Levis last year. These corners are not that great this year either. I agree about tackles though. The draft is a crap shoot and Veach is a wildcard all I’m saying is don’t be surprised if we just take BPA and draft a D lineman or DB if a top guy falls. Would love to see AD or Ladd be there at 32 and we snag them but wouldn’t put it past Veach to wait till the second and move up for a guy like Pearsal or Polk.
@@cjboyer4355 okay I decided on getting Ladd and going back up and securing Javon Baker 🤘
Josh Allen is gonna love him.
You predicting this was crazy 🔥
they didnt predict anything lmao
lol they changed the title……
No YAC if it’s caught in the endzone !
I mean, aside from the fact that you guys did this video pre draft and now we know he's a colt, he is not a josh Palmer type player. Palmer lineup more in the slot and replaced Allen in the chargers offense. The way Mitchell was used and now with the colts the player he will replace is Alec pierce. Low target, run down the field, and get it. This ruins his stock considering Pittman holds the #1 and downs the underneath slot position in a very low target offense with an imo unproven arm of AR who is inaccurate.
We'll see if watching Pitt on film every week teaches him how to block.
Adonai B itchell
Brett technical said, ceedee without the yac
🤠
WR 4.
Yeah, I can't imagine NFL teams are real thrilled with the doesn't give a shit attitude, especially from a guy that isn't otherwise gamebreaking.
Buffalo Bills 1st pick
He never said he ran 70%. All receivers run 80% you can't cut at 100% 90 degrees that is
I'm a Colts fan so I hope for the best. I'm seeing several things that concern me though.
I'm thinking he may bend towards being a diva and one who has more attitude than talent.
Hope he doesn't bust but I'm seeing hotdog tendencies.
The Bills drafted the bust known as Sammy Watkins, and now you want us to take Watkins 2.0?!?
Not sure you want to use a first round pick, if your say Buffalo, on a receiver with a injury history.
Why is he falling?
Diva Attitude
@oohgeesilk6634 lol that is all NFL Wide outs
@@oohgeesilk6634Just what the Colts WR group is missing. ATTITUDE!
@@frontrowatthefight2531 im here for it
CeeDee Lamb 2.0
lets see if he can keep his blood sugar in check. maybe the millions will change his attitude for the better
No team wants to hear a player tell the truth!😂 However, to almost completely devalue AD’s impact on a game is extremely immature, especially considering he’s not getting the ball on EVERY PLAY OF THE GAME!…This was a little hard to listen to, but I made it to the end..😩😤
Next Chase Claypool to me. Is he going to run clean routes or take a play off?!
brainwashed
koolaid is still for his jockstrap is all I know
I'd take Worthy over him
Go home RUclips you're drunk! Why does this video say 3 weeks ago??
Guy in the right talking smack dude needs to go find something better to do
AD will be WR2 of the class after Marv
Lmfao. No
That’s WILD WR4
4 at best
@@ianmichael3912 at best. I could see a team taking Coleman ahead of him as well.
He seems like he lulls the defender to sleep in his pacing of his routes, it's weird he doesn't look that fast but he's just a strider I guess.
-
He's a baller though, I'd rather have a guy who does alright against decent teams and then explodes vs. the best teams on the biggest stages. I think that would be one of the many reasons why the Chiefs would take him.
Colts won the draft.
I'll stick to Steve Smith's breakdown of this guy over you guys. Underdog fantasy. I tend to believe a player that's actually played in the NFL instead of armchair GMS. LMAO
Why did you even watch this
I'm on the he's being over rated by a lot side. I see him as a round 3 talent. I don't think he comes down strong enough with the ball and often gets off balance. His cuts that are being compared to Devante are no where near as smooth as him that I find it hard to really compare the 2. I think both his balance and his hands will get exposed by NFL corners which is why I would not invest much draft capital on gamble. But obviously 6'2 with speed and can cut sounds appealing so he will be worth taking a chance on.
He barely drops passes, he had under a 2% drop rate in 2023
@@robbie5010 Yes but you can't always just go by the numbers with college players. To me the eye test is more important cause you can imagine what it would look like vs an NFL player instead of just seeing inflated numbers from being at a good school. And to me he's a risky player to take too high but fine to gamble on if the team can afford to for the upside potential.
@@NOFOCKYOU don't get me wrong i agree, i've seen wrs with low drop rates not turn out good like duvernay , i just think ad will be good he produced with texas and while he didn't with Georgia he made important plays for then.
He’s moo o dt talented player in dra
