Damn, this looks awesome. I'm imagining for backstory a WW3 scenario that didn't go nuclear but did basically tear down big government and large countries, leaving huge power vacuums and tons of small successor states, armed with a hodge-podge of old and new gear from the various old countries
Yeah, it really would be the best scenario, but tbh it would still be very bloody for all sides involved. But, no nuclear weapons = civilian casualties kept on the lower side (hopefully)
You could also include Private Military Companies (like Blackwater) being found to have helped orchestrate this event for personal gain- simply waiting for the most opportune time to establish a coup in their country of operation (or nearby, smaller ones that wouldn’t offer as much resistance). So now you have the PMCs promising to save the people from the tyranny of government as “vigilante heroes” even though they were for a large part, responsible for it. @@andreasmuller2437 well we also probably would love to get rid of all nukes but then ww3 would almost certainly happen, and also that's never gonna happen
Definitely looks like a really good game! I'm glad I was finally able to catch a premier of yours again, Shack! It's been a long time since I had the time to be around for a stream or premier, hopefully I can be around more in the future! The game definitely looks really good, a mix of Wargame Red Dragon, Arma 3 Zeusing, and Mount and Blade. @ricelover118 a new team took over and are working on updates for Freeman but this seems like what the original concept for it was and I’m holding out hope for freeman but this looks promising and like just what I think a lot of us wanted
This game is a massive mix between Total War, Mount and Blade, Hearts of Iron, and Battlefield games put together to make a massive immersion game that wants you to fight an enemy that you won't always see on the battlefield clearly. That is amazing actually.
The overall concept is awesome. With some fine tuning ..this could be a diamond in the rough. - Medics/Medevac ( allows you to possibly save some soldiers for latter battles) kind of XCOM with extract and wounded timelines. -CAS - Air insertions i.e. fries with UH-60 or have CH-47 carrying troops. -The ability to retrograde and fight another day - more movement options/orders.
yea! air and sea warfare added as DLC or something would be absolutely perfect... though the scaling would be hard to do. air and sea have much larger combat zones than strictly ground
I played this game during its Next Fest demo which was only a month ago and the game already has improved a lot, I can't wait to see how it continues to grow
looks interesting, needs some kind of fog of war as the tactical view lets you see too much of the enemy. Maybe make the enemy turn invisible if you don't have line of sight
@@Wadser there are some instances where the game did not account for hills and distance. It mostly only takes into account buildings and sometimes trees.

Reminds me one pretty old game name of which I always constantly forget, similar idea of RTS + FPS hybrid (not FPS, but vehicle sim). You manage resource operations on resource lines then production on production islands, delivery to logistics and fortress island and vehicle designs are up to the player to decided (in terms of hull and weapons)
If this RTS-FPS game ran on UE5+, then even low-end PCs can handle its high-quality large maps (thanks to UE5+'s Nanite Foliage that further optimizing topology/polygons enough to boost performance)

Freeman: Guerrilla Warfare is another game like this though it's more like Mount and Blade with guns than RTS, though still have a top down tactical screen you can use in battle like Starsector. My only problem with it is development is really slow, taking enough time between updates you start to wonder if the last update really was the last update.
This was my first thought. I was sad the game slowly lose traction in development, I played hours in it before the removing of features to refine them phase. This game will probably take Freemans spot in my library lol
Since I don't want to be a spammer, this is my last attempt at suggesting/requesting this ;-;. You should return to Executive Assault 2, it's got tons of new content to the point of being a new game! As this is an FPS/RTS hybrid, it seems perfectly appropriate.
This game reminds me of the men of war series games but with better graphics and modern instead of ww2. Call to arms is modern and allows first person like this where gates of hell ostfront was third person with first person mods and the original men of war games being kind of top down control it's reallllly nice to see more games like them though I can't wait to see how this game progresses!
there are SOME gripes i have with the game rn: 1.) No leveling system for your "main character" - in fact, there is no "main character". Which is good and bad at the same time, because you will be able to respawn at any point during combat, but you won't feel a sense of progression. 2.) AI has Aimbot and will spot you from miles away. Once they've locked in on you, you're pretty much dead. They have far better ability in spotting you than you spotting them until you smack on a 8x or 10x scope - which sadly means that automatic weapons not mounted on vehicles are useless. 3.) Economy is questionable at best. During the global campaign you can only ever build one building at a time, which makes NO sense whatsoever and forces you into a standstill for several months when you've conquered a neighbouring country. You also have no oversight over what gets actually produced in a day/week/month and what gets taken out because all the productions are on seperate timers with seperate ressources required with seperate outputs (and you will never know how much output there is too!) - this needs desperate fixing. 4.) Fog of war makes about no sense. You're telling me satellite imaging is not available in 2024? Or that people have... oh, i dunno, a map of the area they live in? Imagine being in actual war and you ask your superior "sir, what's over that hill" and he goes: "Well gee, son, i have no idea. We need to go there and see it with our own eyes, no other way of finding out!" That being said, it's still a fun game, and i enjoy playing it. it has HUGE potential and I hope the devs expand on what they have.
I recommend this to anyone whos looking for a good RTS, i would totally dump my money into it if i could preorder it now. Raytracing looks really cool too!

this is cool! will definitely give this a look but also hope you will make this into a short series (or not, you are already very busy so no pressure).
Would be Super cool if you could bring 5-80 of your real world friends to play each battle (on both sides). players can control each NPC in just one squad and you can use squad tactics OR each player can take control of one squad of NPC. or Any combination depending on the situation. While the Main Player (YOU) can give overall orders and play any NPC as well. So instead of one afternoon moving chess pieces around a board for one player there are months of Strategy with weekends with your friends. Where you can choose to place the players into a cool combat situation that you create while NPCs (or you offline) handle the other battles all the way to players handling every battle as it comes up. OR you can play solo like now.
The one thing that hurts me is the hitpoints mechanic. And don't get me wrong, hitpoints are OKAY, as long as you only lose hitpoints when shot by something that can pierce your armor. I tried playing and my Stryker was taking damage from what I believe was only small arms fire. Otherwise pretty good
It'd be interesting to see a game with a procurement system. Interesting for me at least. Ideally you'd have a large set of parts with resource inputs. Then a class of players could be equipment designers. The equipment armies use is inseperable from their parent country's culture and economy.
More fun if you use cheat engine to extend your playtime. I love playing one sided 80v300 battles where I have 3 M109s, 1 M270, 2 LAVs sitting on a hillside in a perimeter, absolutely destroying the enemy that has barely any armoured vehicles.
