The Preset is just like the memory button on a calculator. All it does is save the soldier configuration of your currently selected soldier so that you can paste it to another soldier. It's useful if you want to vary the looks or equipment of soldiers within the squad, but there's no reason to save a preset if you click on the Copy to Entire Squad button. What you and many people want, is an option to squad configurations per squad, rather than by template. Or perhaps to be able to lock specific squads using a padlock icon, or something. Or at least give us the ability to create more unit templates. Actually I'd like to be able to create more squad templates regardless.
Yes I'm just saying a different word I wasn't talking about the save preset button for the game. In just calling the unit a preset, but it would be more like a template and yeah there being just 1 per unit type is beyond terrible more squad templates are a must
Thanks for this video! Even though this game is in EA there are a lot of cool concepts and mechanics to experiment with. I'm still loving this game a lot since I bought it on EA release day.
It shouldn't be called 'Squad Editor' it should be called 'Unit Editor'. Because it it saving a preset that is then applied to each recruited soldier, not being applied to each squad as made. It makes sense you just have to think about it.
How does it work justify war goal?. Do you need to justify war goal to an enemy and then declare war or you need to justify war goal to allies and then declare war to an Enemy?
Could you talk some about what effects the different weapon mods have on AI soldiers (yours or the enemy)? I haven't been able to find any information on that.
noticed a spelling error ''aviable'' lol no its available. hmm also is it just me or the tooltips are way too small. (this error is found when you was lookin at the resource management difficulty settings)
So, how do I assign certain vehicles to squads? I just have to manually do it one at a time in squad load out? Given that it's been about a year and these basic problems haven't been fixed I feel about ready to give up on the game
Unless they did an update you assign vehicles to squad types if I remember right but what I'm hearing from others is they pretty much didn't change anything that we have asked them to so
Can you undermine the economy of your enemy or does this work like Mount&Blade where the enemy AI cheats you into oblivion? EDIT: oh, my question was answered at 11:30 and the answer is YES, AI cheats.
Alliances are all that matters the ai doesn’t honor treaties I like to conquer half the map ally with the remaining ai to build a Cold War scenario build up
Absolutely, the present thing is horrible because as soon as you change it your already existing units are going to change too if you ever rearm an army it makes no sense
In tactical you just buy units with money and have so much research points you can spend or save up after each battle. There is no over world map to do or resources to manage besides the money and supplies. And there are no territories to capture you just do battle after battle and resupply and buy more Troops on a menu between battles. I believe a full campaign for tactical is 25 battle
@@Its_Steeeve thanks I appreciate it! Tactical campaigns are fun to learn some guns and vehicles. If you do a 2024 campaign I recommend changing your resource management to easy or medium especially for the first play. They have some work to do for sure on the over world of the campaign map but the battles and stuff are great. So if you want it harder battles and getting attacked more and stuff put the difficulty up to realistic and keep the resource difficultly down because the convoys and stuff is realistic but it's very tedious and can be annoying then just playing and having fun and building a country with the resources you make
@@Its_Steeeve yes police squads will make you have more stability if you have enough in the cities to maintain law and order which will stop rebels from spawning. If you hover over your cities with your mouse it will either say law and order established or police squads needed to maintain law and order. Just add squads as needed. Also they are cheat to make uniforms for if you need more soliders fast to give them. You could also make them armored type in the squad editor and make them drive your vehicles in a small squad of just 2 to operate the vehicle instead of wasting regular soliders to do it
I appreciate you being honest about the problems this game has, I still want to play it but I know there are some issues

Yeah everyone always needs to remember it's in EA and things will change lol
Man, this game would be absolutely incredible if all of their ideas were fleshed out. Clearly some work to be done. Lots of potential, though.
@@JonathanMWhite-tx4ym yeah the devs have made some questionable decisions, I like the game though

War goal on enemies, allies won't join you even when I get attacked allies do literally nothing

Needing to have the factory in the same city as the supply defetes the immersion of having a modern day network where goods can travel freely
The more construction sites u have the faster u build each takes about 5-6 days off all building
Yes the same with research building and whatever the ministry buildings are called. They all have different rates
On unit type preset: Have you tried this with a new name? (Were they namable when you made this video?)
how would you say the game is now compared to the release of this video? theyve had alot of updates since then
@@SirFetus1 I haven't played it much recently so I wouldn't be able to give and honest opinion on its current state

The AI cheats so mf hard lmao
excellent, just started playing this cool game, is there a way to see which faction is allied to which, cause I started a war and they got allies
It doesn’t tell u that in game u have figure that out everyone starts with 1 ally
Andrew is correct
Great guide bro! Thanks!
Alliances are all that matters the ai doesn’t honor treaties I like to conquer half the map ally with the remaining ai to build a Cold War scenario build up
That sounds fun lol
Be nice if you could ambush convoys
you forgot the production section wich is one of the most crucial sections for new players 🙂
Nice tutorial
What do garrisons do?
Defend your settlements, also police units in garrisons increase law and order
@@camco1197 ok I figured that but I wasn’t fully sure
thx bro
👍
thx a lot! to bad the game has no tutorial yet
how can you make more money in bribe I only have 250 $ how can I have more
we need to be able to actively edit the kit of each unit, not via the preset that shit is annoying

I will definitely subscribe and watch your videos.
Thank you

uninstalled early acces in a very bad way lol
Why would any one in their right mind play a game to spend the whole time in menus just doing stupid food management in a war game!!!!
Ya neva played HOI, have you?
why they didnt use real countries
No clue lol
Takes real world bias out of it.
To make it more original and allow greater possibility for world building.
Maybe to keep the forum flame wars to a minimum?
