Disappointing really, it's a waste of labor to keep using so outdated equipment in a developed country. It's a solid bet the workers earn poorly and the company is just barely ticking along. It's a nature of a legacy industry though, there are no growth opportunities so justifying new investment is very difficult, it's just not anyone's first choice on where to put their money. If you find yourself working in a industry like this, you better be looking for your next job all the time.
@@aleksandersuur9475 if I become the owner of the company, i would not invest on automatic machine, while it cuts my budget to hire manual labor at the same time the community will probably suffer because they have no job or money for living. by working with the company they earn a living. i think those kind of owner did a great job to not thinking of them self at least a little bit. obviously, in this world of led and lightbulbs, i think it's not a wise choice to invest on fully automatic candle maker machine because they required high yield production to even break even, which the demand would probably won't cover for that machine in 5 years, so why not giving it to the community.

Isn't it that it is expensive to make candles in Japan, considering the high cost of labor and energy? Most work can be done by PWD (people with disabilities). This company can supply all the countries in the world, especially third world countries where reliable power is still in premature stage. Also, the birthday candles will be a perpetual products since there are 7 million birthdays a day is happening all over the world. Would the company consider to move to a lower labor cost country and still retain their ownership? You did not mention the materials used for candles, I believe it's paraffin.
@@YaoiMastah Thank you. I thought of paraffin as in liquid form which is usually used for heating oil etc. Didn't know it came in hardened slabs and candles are made from it.
Liquid paraffin flowing in pips above their heads, old cardboard and paper everywhere, stored paper packing materials and cellophane, electrical equipment, and paraffin particles covering everything, this workplace is a potential fire bomb waiting to happen.
Almost amazing video, because there is no safety at all. And also the process of the packaging should be more careful. But thanks for let us know how those people make this candles
I noticed that each one of the workers does their own quality control, unlike here in the States where a Quality Assurance Specialist would oversee the whole operation. This is how they cut costs and manufacture the product for less.

こういう動かし方するから不良品が多くて、検品時に弾く前提なんだ

Industrial paraffin is a byproduct of oil refinery. Refineries produce these in large slabs (continuous plates that are cut in 1 - 10kg slabs)
