    As someone born in 1960 and grew up loving Led Zepplin and FM Radio it’s hard to imagine anyone who hasn’t herd this song. It’s the most played song in the history of FM radio. It would take over 22 yrs if you played it back to back all the times this song had been played.

    That guy on guitar is JIMMY PAGE. The mastermind behind Led Zeppelin. He wrote mostly all their songs and produced ALL of their albums. He’s the GOAT. Oh, also he’s a legendary guitarist.

      @@GrimeDiesel did you know that John Bonham didn’t receive his first drum kit until he was 15 years old? He joined Led Zeppelin when he was 19. Died at age 31. Voted greatest rock drummer of all time in many separate polls, but that is all subjective. Neil Peart is great too

      @@GrimeDiesel Interesting. I really would like to know more about Neil Peart. I bought a bunch of Rush albums, but they just didn't do it for me. I also watched a documentary on them and that was really good. Neil seemed to have some tragedy and demons to work through, but it was very good. Funny, I couldn't take Geddy's voice for too long, but he seemed like a super nice guy and I could have listened to Neil play all day and he was not very sociable at all.

      What an ignorant statement...Zep were heavily, heavily influenced by the blues. Great music is great music, and people who love music and have good taste recognize what they love in any genre of music, regardless of race. Jimi Hendrix would also like a word with you...rock and roll is by no means a white thing.. I will agree that it's great to see any person being introduced to quality music they had previously been unfamiliar with.

That and plant literally said he felt 'a hand write out the first lyric of the song' and also the numerous musicians throughout history, Bob Dylan, Robert Johnson, many other blues and rock artists, arguably even Anthony from chillis (although I love chillis, don't get me wrong) when he writes 'under the bridge downtown, I gave my life away' it's so bloody blatant its just people are so blind

    I recommend always going studio version first when it's an iconic song. Live is great, but it's best to first experience the song in the format that originally forged its success, imho.

      I think since a lot of reaction videos get blocked when using original video, most people have just switched to doing live recordings so they don't have to deal with label blocking their video.

    Jimmy Page is the guitarist, Robert Plant is lead singer, John Bonham (RIP) is (was) the drummer and John Paul Jones is the Bassist/Organist. One of if not THE greatest band EVER.

    I prefer this version than the studio version. Everything from the instrumentation to Plant's vocals were magnified beyond explanation.

      I think of the studio version as the "director's cut". When they had all the time they wanted to make it perfect, there's no "I've played this a million times" factor. Everything is dialed in exactly as intended for a studio version.
      If I want the live version (I do), it's because I'm watching it live.

      It is one of the greatest all time Rock songs. I have listened to it a million times. Sometimes I leave it alone for months, then I come back an revisit and always you realize how amazing the song is, not to mention how great the artistry of this band once was.

      Actually ALL of their songs LIVE are badass. Not to say the studio versions are not great, but LZ wrote all of their songs to be performed live. They actually released their Albums to promote their Tours...instead of touring to support their Albums. TOTALLY the opposite of every other Band. They felt that seeing them play live was the best way to hear their music, which is why they never wanted to release any singles. They only did release singles because of major pressure from their record label.

Led Zeppelin, or their representatives, will have the video blocked or pulled down if you used the commercial studio version. Which is kind of silly, because they also sell DVD's of the live version.     According to Page, he designed this song to be like a lotus flower slowly opening up.. starting ever so softly and slowly and then gradually increasing the tempo and intensity.. never has their been a song like this that incrementaly increases in tempo..
