- How to Harley Davidson Sportster Bleeding Rear Brake. We recommendation to replace and flush your brake fluid every two years. When just bleeding your brakes to get rid of air, you just add fluid to the master cylinder until you get the air out. You are mixing the new fluid with the old. When you are flushing, You are replacing your brake fluid. You suck the master cylinder dry and then put new fluid in and bleed the brake system until all the old fluid is out, This will work on all Non ABS motorcycles.
That’s awesome, look forward to full restoration. I have a 2015 XLC and your videos are tremendously beneficial.
Excellent video Rocco. I’ve always had Japanese metric bikes. Watching these vids as I’m about to buy my first Harley Davidson and will be servicing it myself.
Thank you for everything and helping me do my own repairs on my 2003 883 sporster,I'm disabled and not able to pay high shop prices to work on the bike, but your great video's are very educational and informative and correct, have a great day, and again thank you very much for helping me save money with working on my sporster...🤝🤝🤝👍👍👍🎯🎯🎯🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🏁🏁🏁
Good information for riding safe. Thanks Roc
Thank you. It's pretty easy to do. Appreciate you video.
Nice! SPORTSTER4LIFE here. Just because the last guy used certain fluids and parts doesn't mean you have to, I noticed u kind of him and haw about the brake fluid, just use the best bro, it's like the cheapest fluid u can buy for a vehicle, just get DOT5 and synthetic. Give that Sportster a chance! Keep.up the great work.
i have the same bike. this is awesome. love your videos.
Nice work. Nice, slow and easy.
great video as always. Be safe
Thanks again Rocco !
Great man great knowledge
Great video
Great video. Lucid, complete, thorough and generous !! I'd like to see that done on the front disc brake of something comparable to my 2006 RKC sometime if it be your will to.
Great advice, thank you very much. One video if I could recommend is how's to rain proof your bike. I like to ride all year round here in Australia, we don't get snow in Perth.. since you mentioned bikes don't like to sit outside, is there a general routine to keeping a bike that gets wet a lot in ship shape?
hello roco do you have any bleeding vids for rear master cylinder? i think i got air trapped in it as she spits back fluid to the reservoir. thanks alot for every video you do
Rocco can I use a vacuum pump at the caliper bleed screw and pull the fluid through adding new fluid at the reservoir ?
Hey Rocco I have a question for you I have a 1999 sportster 883 about 27,000 km on I had a carburetter rebuild by a reputable shop in Toronto within the first 5 to 10 minutes of warming the bike up and I’m trying to drive with it I get popping as I’m accelerating. after the bike warms up it drives perfectly. so it only happens the first 5 or so minutes. the shop says it needs to warm up more what do you think
Will you ever do a video on throttle by wire syptoms and replacement. Thought it might make for a good video.
Hello, Sir, Just a FYI. I did a flush for my 2006 Sportster 883 custom to the rear brake tonight. I did notice that the color for the old one was a little different after I added DOT 5 as recommended from the service manual. I stopped after consistently seeing the color of the fluid coming out was good. It lets me wonder if the old one was DOT 5 or not?
Why no tube to drain the old fluid?
