Basic Police and Military training is having 2 hands on the gun, one hand on the side supporting the gun, one on the bottom to steady the aim, no finger on the trigger unless you know you're going to shoot, etc etc. Holding a gun sideways is not only inefficient, but dangerous to injure the wrist/hand.

This is exactly why it’s illegal to impersonate a cop or a doctor or an EMT or a firefighter or a lawyer or anything to that affect. Real people need help and will come to you expecting it and you can’t provide it. That’s why in movies and TV shows they either create a set where they know civilians can’t get in, or they block off entire sections of towns and inform every resident what’s going on.

I have served with real soldiers and police officers who actually did heroic deeds everyday. Mayo is a wanna be who doesn't have the guts to actually enlist in the military or police force so he fakes it.
