Among the two friends, the one who pretended to be conscientious ran away after seeing the prison environment, but only the friend who said he would not go will testify and go to prison. However, the situation was twisted again, and the friend in prison was unable to avoid hanging, and eventually was dragged away and executed. At that very moment, the friend imprisoned in prison witnesses the scene of another friend being hanged through the bars. Another friend shouts at the shivering friend standing on the gallows.
"Here I am! I am here! I am here!"
For those 10 minutes, or less than 5 minutes,
he says that she could spend 3 years in prison.

Even the trailer to this movie made me cry. I remember when this movie came out, I didn't give much attention to it. When I saw it on television for the first time I didn't know Joaquin Phoenix was in it. At the end of this film, I could not for the life of me get it out of my head. Truly, Joaquin is one of the greatest actors of all time. People should have payed attention to his work long before he made films like Walk the Line or Joker. Dude can really act, so much so that it's like when he cries I start crying (and I'm not sure if it's for him or with him) too. It's as if he has the ability to share his pain with everyone through the screen.

In the eyes of the judge, she disrespected their laws and was trying to push western values on them. It angered him, so instead of possibly accepting Vaughn's appearance to accept his portion of the punishment and save Phoenix's life, the judge decided to set an example and kill him anyway. Pinkett's character had no business going against Heche's character's explicit directions to not publish. IMO, she caused his death.

I have traveled a lot and there are some countries I refuse to travel to anymore, Mexico being one. I used to drive from Los Angeles to Rosarito Beach to visit an expatriate friend who lived there. Once my tires were over the white line indicating I was back in the US, I wanted to jump out of my car and kiss the ground. Being pulled over and searched by the Mexican federales or local cops looking for bribes to not take you to jail when you did nothing wrong ... so scary. Tourists are at the mercy of the corrupt government. Killers and rapists (e.g., cop killer Armando Garcia) flee to Mexico and the government refuses to extradite them. Eventually some are returned (thank you Duane "Dog" Chapman for capturing multi-rapist Andrew Luster) but so many more are still over there ... as if Mexico is a giant "Get Out of Jail Free" card. Add Africa and Soviet Union to the list of "been there, done that" and not going back.
I think US citizens that travel have more of an appreciation for the US and although I have been to some amazing countries, I'm so happy to have been born in the United States of America!
By the by, India, the second most populated country with much poverty, has some of the most (internally) beautiful people.

+Valorie Pandak We are so fortunate to be a principal destination for the world's burnouts to sample the dope trade. I feel so distinguished to live in a country that continues to make concessions to people in remote corners of society. When I think of rights I consider fundamental, drug abuse isn't among them.

I think this film misrepresent Malaysia and owe an apology to country when the narrator mentioned it is a land of rum, girls and cheap hash. The performance of actors are quite good but the film is not even filmed in Malaysia. It is filmed in Macau, Hong Kong and Thailand. Hence, I hope audience who watched this film with a pinch of salt and visit the real Malaysia to appreciate the real country and cultures.
