With the silicone covers, a quick tip for easy battery charging: get some usb rechargeable 1.5v AA batteries with the USB port in the side. You can then recharge the batteries inside the controllers.
Thats what I did - total game changer in convinience. I had some grip covers for my quest 2 that included a battery and usb socket on the bottom to recharge - they were excelent but don't seem to exist for the quest 3.
Nice review and comparison. I opted for the white ones at the end and I really love them. I like the fact you basically keep the same stock form and size. With the Quest 2, I had knuckle grips that act like cups you put the controllers inside of. While it worked fine, it made them bigger and less ergonomic.
I'm glad you mentioned the hard rivet, I personally find them fairly uncomfortable as it pushes into/rubs against my hand. I found I had to wear them really loose to avoid this. I'm assuming it's because I have above average sized hands, they might be fine for most people. (This is the white battery-door replacement one, but they both do have the rivet in the same place) I loved AMVR's Quest 2 grips with their elasticated straps. They didn't look as elegant but they were really comfortable. I actually tried to modify them so they'd fit the Q3 controllers but they never quite felt secure enough.
Thanks for watching. The AMVR Q3 grips are my go to. If you liked their stretch knuckle straps from Q2, check out my review for the apexinno active straps. Similar feel and cheaper than Meta’s own similar straps
Hows the longevity of the knuckles one ? I cant imagine putting extra strain on the plastic battery enclosure lasting long. Or am I being too sceptical ?
The plastic is the same feel, and the clips look identical, so I am sure they will last as long as the official ones do as I think they use the same mechanism.
Haptics seem ok to me. It’s like putting a case on a mobile phone, you still get the feel of haptics as it is vibrating through all the material. The silicone is thin enough.
What’s the difference between the normal and upgraded version and does the upgraded version have everything the normal one has but better and extra features?
Thank you for this video. I have only one concern, and I would really appreciate your thoughts on this matter - the silicon strap. Those controllers has a silicon or leather straps, that can prevent your hand from “breathing” and from cooling down properly. While on Meta Quest Active grips there are some fabric strap and potentially can “breath” better. Aspecially if we are talking about long sessions in active games, like Beat Saber… Could you please comment on this matter? And for wich Straps would feels better on skin in long sessions? Thank you in advance :)
Personally, I feel the PU leather straps to be the best overall. The fabric ones, although breathable, will eventually expand enough to require constant adjustment each time you put them on, where as the leather-type ones will feel more sturdy and require less adjustment, more so when it comes to fitness. The fabric ones will get sweaty quickly, can't be wiped down as well as leather ones. As for rubber silicone ones, I would avoid them. They don't feel great and they are more prone to breaking over time.
I like this product a lot, coming from a cover that you had to take the whole controller out each time. But the one thing I dislike a lot is the plastic tab for the battery. It's too short and extremely slippery. I find it doesn't pull the battery out at all. The batteries are quite tight really and these tabs don't have the oomph to get them out. I have to use something to pop them out manually. Shame really. The devs should of thought this through a little better. Unless you could maybe use an alternative.. like a tie wrap or something similar????
I don’t have the dock but I guess they have some kind of charging pins on the sides of the grips. The silicone grips would cover them, and I guess the pins would be on the battery door side which the white knuckle strap covers replace, so that might not work either.
@@OQPlayThanks, this is what I need to know before I invest in the grips. Deal breaker for me if they prevent wireless charging. There are no visible pins on the charge dock, it seems to be done by induction but the extra thickness added by the grip might be enough to stop it working.
Oh I didn’t know this. In that case it might work then. I assume the charge part is on the batteries you replace so it just has to reach them which might be ok seeing as the silicone is very thing. Amazon has easy returns if you buy them from there and they don’t work with it.
The AMVR straps are extremely uncomfortable after 10min of playing. Hope this isn't a sponsored video. Imagine the dismay your viewers will be in when they realize you've shilled a terrible product to them
Never had a problem with them. So must be personal taste. Hand size. It could be many things that make it not work best for them. My go to are the white cover ones and they’ve been just fine for me. Never got paid to review them. They just supplied them for free for review. Not sponsored. Views are my own. Experiences will vary between hand sizes, as I mentioned earlier. We’re not all made the same! 😂
Must have bigger hands like me. I couldnt use the quest 2 controllers without getting a silicone grip that extended the controllers. Looking for something similar for the quest 3 controllers that doesnt block the ir lights

Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
No, some of these batteries can damage your controllers by outputing high voltage when charging

Thanks for the idea..I'm going to get some of these batteries 👍

Great choice, they are the ones I would go for, for the same reason as you.
I got the silicone ones a few days ago. I like them.
Good choice. They are great!

Nvm. Product page on Amazon says not compatible with official dock
Thanks for sharing. I thought if they were induction charging they might be. Especially the white knuckle strap one.

How are the Haptics? Specially with the Silicone one do you lose the sensation of the haptics?

I’m guessing they have made some refinements to the fit and comfort of these straps.
Does this leave the IR light free near the bottom of the controller? 🤔
There is a cut out on the black silicone cover grips, and the white knuckle strap doesn't cover it at all as it just replaces the battery door.
Thank you for this video.

@@OQPlay Okay.
Thank you very much :)
I just make sure you don't tighten it it too much. Just enough to slip your hand through but also have a little looseness.
Thanks! nicely done! I put my new grippers on while watching . I agree that they seem to be good ones. I have the full skins set.
Good choice. Enjoy
Does this work with official charging dock
I don’t think they do. I think someone mentions it’s in the Amazon description that they don’t.
@@OQPlay yea I mentioned it. I researched and found it after I wrote this comment
Does the Knuckle Saps fit inside the original Meta Quest 3 bag ?
I don't have the case for the Quest 3, but the strap folds flat enough to compress down enough to fit in a case.
is the knuckle strap compatible with the quest pro controller
I don’t know. Seems unlikely if the controllers are any different in shape or size. Same for the tracking cameras on the pro
@@OQPlayyeah, I want to upgrade to the pro controller but I want a strap that just be able to put on with the battery cover only
I just don’t know if the pro shares the same battery door design and shape as the Q3 🤔

Maybe a fabric one would have been better.
Do the straps work with the official dock???
I don’t think they well due to the thicker padding in the rubber material.
Do these work with the official Meta charging dock?

Can you please review x-Super ergonomic quest 3 grip
Do you mean these? amzn.to/4ah9pvm
@@OQPlay yes those exactly. Planning on buying them because my hands feel uncomfortable holding the controller due to how small it is
I’ve reached out to them to see if I can cover them. 🤞🏻
