I live in the heart of downtown Toronto. Right in the financial district. Our traffic is LEGENDARY.

I never understood people's complaints about manual and traffic. I've been driving manual cars since forever and I have never had an issue. Wouldn't trade manual for anything as long as I am healthy enough I will forever drive manual. Now if your talking about tractor trucks which I also drive then I can agree with traffic issues, but a little tiny light weight car with a wimpy clutch is a cake walk in traffic.

  • @TheSlvrGR86

I have a steel GR86 Premium in a manual, and I commute from where I live to downtown every day for college, and while it does suck in traffic, it became second nature to me. For anyone who is considering both I would say get what you want to drive, not because of what type of driving you will be doing, but because of what you want to drive.

Both manual and auto are cool imo, it's just whatever the buyer prefers. Me, since I live in an area filled with traffic the auto is not a bad choice. Albeit, it may not be as fun as manual. It is something to consider if you live in an area with traffic. I have the 2023 GR86 trueno blue in auto, and I'm definitely glad since the traffic in my area is insane. The manual is only fun if you have no traffic.

@@braetonwilson4296 I still love it lol. Much more fun than the previous car I used to drive which was a super old toyota corolla. These people make it sound like auto is the end of the world and it sucks. I cannot say for manual which my mother strictly forbidden me from getting a manual car. Overall, the car is really nice, my two downsides with that car is that the engine is louder than the exhaust and Apple CarPlay crashes sometimes while you’re driving. It’s exhaust is too quiet for a sports car. Other than that I really love this car for the low price you can get it at instead of spending ludicrous amounts for a 911 instead.

I can drive manual and did own a Toyota MR2 sports car years ago with a manual tranny. This car with twice the HP of that car does the job just fine. 228 vs 112HP.

All you kids with NO experience having to drive back and forth to work stuck in traffic in your daily of course wouldn't have A CLUE on why you would want an automatic. If the car was just a toy to you, then fine. Get the stick. If you drive in a lot of traffic and get the stick, you like punishing yourself and will probably be the first on the street to roadrage. Oh yes kids, that's the way it works.

Coming from a manual owner that traded in for an auto, you didn’t use the auto properly. Too many reviews like this where they just drive it around the block and say “it sucks”. The beauty of the auto 86 is that it is comfortable and calmer to drive on public roads compared to the manual but becomes a fiery mad man on track. Better/faster than the manual in fact! So unless you take an auto on track or drive it properly in manual mode, your review is pretty pointless….

I have a Fiat 124 Spider abarth automatic and I have been told I made a mistake getting it but you know what I've been having a blast drive with the automatic because it's not that bad.
Have her to get rid of it so I was looking at the Toyota gr86 automatic version so I'm glad you wanted the detail about it I don't think it's going to be that bad of an experience the look looks great the interior is fine the driving part doesn't look bad at all so thank you for going to the detail to take the time

I could be wrong here, but I think they chose to add backseats due to the fact that it would lower the insurance costs even though it has barely any leg room, it can help with insurance costs. Another thing is, the rear seats really aren't as bad as the car reviewers say it is. I have one and I can fit my friends in the back seat just fine. For height, they are around 5'5 - 6'0, so the backseat isn't a huge problem seating-wise. Most of the time, I drive with the seats folded down since I am not driving with more than one person.
