    Other concert violinists who have played piano rather decently are Arthur Grumiaux, Andor Toth, Fritz Kreisler, Jascha Heifetz, and Louis Persinger. I don't know any concert pianists who play violin decently, except Mozart. Good job Maestro Hadelich!!!

      Julia Fischer plays concerts with piano but I think she's a violinist foremost. There's recording of Grieg Piano concerto on youtube.
      Playing more than one instrument is the best thing a musician can do and I think the piano gives the most joy and benefit.

    This is simply wonderful (and welcome, since it is on my stand right now. I was practicing it yesterday). Did you record the violin part first, and then the piano part? I think there might be some audio wizardry in addition to musical wizardry here.

    • @AugustinHadelichViolin
      @AugustinHadelichViolin  4 года назад +6

      I did the piano part first, imagining the violin line (and after practicing the violin part). I had to do it a few times until it worked, this one has more rubati ;-)

    • @violynnkuo
      @violynnkuo 4 года назад

      Oh, I find that interesting that you recorded the piano part first! I had thought about it for my video and definitely recorded the violin 🎻 part before the piano 🎹 part. (And found that I was challenging to follow! 😂)
      It definitely was fun to put together though!

  • @nat57ural

    Super! This displays 2 equally important facets of musicianship: the soloist/melody and the "accompaniment"/harmony. I wonder which you recorded first, the accompaniment or the melody?? It might be easier to record the accompaniment first to set the tempo, but typically accompanists adjust to the solo line so perhaps you recorded the solo line first, that would be my guess for this performance. Did you use a click track with 2 measures of to start each one and a silent clicking light to stay in tempo?

    • @AugustinHadelichViolin
      @AugustinHadelichViolin  4 года назад +4

      This time I tried recording the violin part first, but it just did not really work so well. So after practicing the violin part a lot (and knowing what I wanted to do), I recorded the piano part and then played the violin part to it. I didn't use a clicktrack but played some notes on the piano before the piece started (that you can't hear) so I would know when to start the violin part.
