Brilliant! From thought-provoking selection of a time-whirl text to test, to your eloquent crescendo to apocalypse! Factual, calmly insane -- Kudos! Even stumping Ai -- Long live humanity!
Nice work, Jesse. An interesting review. I saw Sarah D's review on Resolve and she teased that it might replace Descript in her tech stack. It makes sense that Resolve has the better captioning tech with Blackmagic being the last to market. They had more time to perfect it.
I hadn't used Premiere's auto-subtitling tool in ages so I was a bit surprised at how little it's grown. It feels only slightly more accurate than it did when I started to move away from Premiere a year ago. RUclips's results bummed me out a bit; I feel like there's a lot of untapped potential there. That platform not only runs the most computations but also gets the most feedback as users correct subtitles prior to publishing. It seems like they're in the best position to perfect this technology and they're barely limping along. Thanks for the comment! I'm hoping to jump back on panel soon. There have been some really good episodes recently that gave me severe rear-view FOMO.
I am considering dropping Premiere because I have been using it basically because FCPX doesn't have autosubtitles even though literally the TikTok app does... This information is worth a lot since Resolve is significantly cheaper in the long term. Thanks for the video. Your wonky ending made me laugh. Have a good one sir.
Thanks for the kind words! The good news is that these tools are only getting better. Resolve is so far ahead of the pack though, it'll be tough to catch up (as is common with Blackmagic products...).
