Pro Tip: If you make subtitled vertical content often and don't want to have to customize the subtitles to look the same, you can click the three dots in the inspector tab near the top right, and save the captions as a preset/default. Now when you create the captions and choose "default captions" your saved style will populate

The processing behind this is fantastic. I have a pretty low quality sound recording of an interview of an old man (in his 80s) with a very pronounced broad (UK West-country) accent talking about his WW1 service as a stretcher-bearer. The interviewer found it hard to understand his answers, and kept asking for him to clarify and to repeat things. The transcript shows that DV had "understood" it all first time, and almost perfectly. It even managed obscure English and Italian country place names with surprising accuracy. And the speed with which it does it is just unbelievable.

This question has been bothering me for a long time. When I change the speed of a video, the corresponding subtitles fail to adjust accordingly, resulting in subtitles being out of sync with the video. This issue is especially problematic for long videos, such as one-hour clips. After speeding them up, it’s impossible to manually adjust every single subtitle. In Final Cut Pro, synchronizing changes seems to work perfectly. I’ve also tried putting the video and subtitles into a compound clip, but it still doesn’t work. Am I doing something wrong, or is this simply not possible in DaVinci Resolve Studio?

Hey Knit (I'm just going to pretend like thats your first name). It does kind of feel that way for sure. However the question is… WHO is saying “do this or suffer views”? Because when you think about it, IG YT TT and all the social media platforms couldn’t care less whether you have captions or not, they just push the most popular types of content and the content that “works” to more people. So really, what you’re fighting against is human nature. Enough people have unintentionally decided that they like on screen text that it caused the algorithm to respond. @@dunnadidit I'm saying because I have been seeing videos in the RUclips studio dashboard with titles that say "you're losing views" and it goes onto say how your videos will get pushed more if the content system recognizes manual subtitles in videos and over using the CC.
Does anyone actually want these subtitles like this across entire videos or is that just what the focus group said? 🤔
