- There was a weird cracking and popping noise coming from the bottom of my 2000 Ford Excursion. looked everywhere for it and finally found and fixed it. Easy and fast fix. This problem is the same for many of the Ford F-series trucks and Ford SUVs. Enjoy the video and hope it helped.
No way.!! I’ve been trying to find where that noise is coming from as well !! Right under the brake pedals thumping /clunking sound !! Already swap front suspension !! Shocks !! Links and the Noise doesn’t go away.!! I will go and look in to this later on.!! Thanks for the vid!!!
Some people put a big nylon washer in between the body and mount for a long term solution.
Thank you! You help solve my popping and creaking on my 2000 Excursion!
Am in the process of changing the body mounts will try this first cz man mine still look good maybe a bit of cracking but not bad at all especially the ones in the back, you might save me a few bucks if that’s what it is
So it has been 3 years now. Did the noise come back? I have been having same issue now for a few years. Thought it was the Sway Bar drop links which have been problematic continuously, having to replace every year. Did the energy suspension bushing mod and still they fail. Especially the one next to the header pipes. Just found a new heavy duty drop link from Autozone that seems might be the solution for that issue, but each time I replaced the drop links, the floor popping would go away. Mostly does it only when body/engine very hot a trip and when towing 10K load. But, now does it constantly. I didn't loosen the mounts yet to flood with lube, but just sprayed around top and bottom. Hope to see on next trip if this is enough or not. The 2002 model has the red color bushings in this same location, but the rubber in the very front and mid frame location. Not sure why Ford thought it prudent to make this one different, but if need to change, I wish could do just the one without too much trouble. Hate to remove carpet and loosen all the others.
I have that same popping on my Excursion. It’s very annoying and made me think something was seriously wrong with my suspension.
To shut the key noise just turn key switch to the on position 2...
Thats what I was thinking too. Ill check body mount bolts. Everything suspension wise is brand new
Same issue here. Felt it right under my driver floorboard.
Take that key out. Damn!!!!
