I sure loved this year, '76 was a good year growing up.
Wow! The bicentennial year... 1976. Great memories. Thank you for posting this!
Thanks David ... all the best ! - JB
@@Johnnyboy792 this one was great but honestly I have enjoyed all your videos thanks for taking the time and putting in the effort for all of them !
@@sickofthestupid1067 Thank you. I was kicking myself for leaving so much out. I'd forgotten about Mark Fydrich & Disco Duck ( Although some things are left forgotten ) LOL but I just had to change it. Thanks again :)
Memories get clearer from about 75/76 ' I was 9 this year.
I've so enjoyed the memory trip through my youth. This, your final update, was the year that I graduated from high school and the end of my childhood. Thank you for reminding me that I grew up during a wonderfully innocent time.
Thank you for taking me back to this special year. Memories I will never forget.
Thank you !!!! - JB
I was 14 in 1976 and remember that year well I went to the Gateway Arch and that was fun. We went to St. Louis to get my Aunt. I have found memories of that time.
One of the best years for movies I thought :)
What a great great year! I remember it well. I was 11
1976 thru 1978, the best 3 consecutive years of my life. (born in '69)
Glad to see u back. Such wonderful memories of my childhood thanks for sharing
11:45 Dino DeLaurentis' King Kong is one of my absolute Favorite Adaptations. I was 11yrs old when it came out, I remember sitting in the theater all day on a Saturday watching it over and over til the sun when down.
Whenever I think about the past it just brings back so many memories.
Whenever I recollect my memories, they're always in the past too :):):)
I was 17 years old in 1976. Thank you so much for all the great memories. So happy that some of these shows are still on cable. Now it’s time to go to store and get some lifesavers. Wintergreen is still my favorite. Happy New Year JohnnyBoy
The Bicentennial was such a huge thing, it really made a big impression on me. I still talk about it. I want to live to be 109 so I can see the Tricentennial! (It could happen. My oldest living aunt was almost 105 when she died)
I love it i was 5 years old and remember all most everything on this video, good memories, good times
1975 had Jaws and 1977 had Star Wars . Nothing really dominated the "Summer Movie" slot in 1976 . Logan's Run, Silent Movie and The Omen were big hits - as was Murder By Death and Eat My Dust . The song Afternoon Delight dominated that year .
I was lucky enough to be at several Mark Fidrych starts in the summer of '76 as an 11 year old. He was truly one of a kind, and it was a magical summer.
Same with me.
That Lifesavers commercial I forgot about the display rack that used to sit at the counter
I was 12 in '76 I remember all of this and CPO Sharky was my favorite TV show i wish I could find a copy of all the episodes.
I was 7, remember the bicentennial so well, our church buried a time capsule... my little brother and I never missed the Bionic Woman, it was our favorite show. My mother loved Rich Man, Poor Man
Thanks for watching Joel :)
I was 5 years old & turned 6 years old in June of 1976 and I am amazed at how much of this stuff I remember.
Me too, I turned 5 in the summer of 1976 and the next year Elvis died and I remember being in first grade and star wars was the most popular movie at
Wow....amazing how much you forget and then BAM! Something like this comes up to bring all those memories flooding back.
Subbing to your channel recently was one of the best subs i've made in a very very long time.
Thanks for all the look back vids!!!
Many thanks !!!!!
I graduated from grade school in Brooklyn, N.Y. on June 26, 1976. What great memories I posses, thanks for the re-enforcement of such fond moment's , I will treasure them til my last breath!!
Thank you Ed. Big happenings in New York at the that time for sure. Thank you for tuning in :) - JB

Hi Tammy ! Thank you so much for watching them. I enjoy making these vides that takes our generation back like a time machine. I'll be starting to work on 1982 next month. Have a great weekend :):):) - JB
The Bicentennial year in America ' and a long hot Summer here in the UK with a drought and hosepipe bans due to water rationing ' my first vacation in the Greek Islands with my folks ' my mum and dad holding garden parties at weekends in the scorching heat ' happy memories indeed from age 9.
Excellent work Johnny!
Thanks Troy !!!!
Good ole 1976...Americas 200th B’day - big celebrations here in NYC!
Excellent reboot guys 👍👌😎✌🏻

What a great year!!! Thanks for the memories!
I thought so too Debs... many thanks to you :)
I was 14 in 7th grade and a major Queen fan.Crushing over freddie mercury and playing Bohemian Rhapsody a million times over
14 myself Tracy... our memories are the same :):):)
Bicentennial! I was 12. Loved Alice, Charlie's Angels. Everyone was obsessed with Red White and Blue. Great music. Did a LOT of Patriotic shows for band. The Olympics were epic! Dorothy Hamil, Nadia Comaneci. Every girl was sporting a Dorothy cut or pigtails. Baseball was life. My family were Reds fans.My Dad's furniture company made a peanut shaped couch for President Carter. Great music, great times.
REDS ??? So you were the guys who pasted us huh Wendi ? LMAO !!!!
Another great one, filled with nostalgia. Your vids always bring back my childhood memories... where I was, who I saw that movie with, that song that seemed outrageous at the time, the news, etc. Thank you again, Johnny.
Mission Accomplished my friend... thank you :)
Thanks so much for your time and effort ! Much appreciated ❤️
Back at you Vegas !!! :):):) - JB
1976 was one of the best years of my youth. Such great memories! Thanks for this.
And thank you Brett ! I'm glad I could transport you back into a time machine... if only for 30 minutes :):):) - JB
I can't believe you did a 1976 retrospective and didn't include all those bi-centennial commercials that played relentlessly leading up to July 4th. I also can't believe I used to think so much of this was THE pinnacle. And thanks a lot for reminding me about the Big Fig Newton. lol
16 that year....fantastic time to be a teen...and I forgot about Fidrych...got strangled to death by a dump truck in 09, very weird
16 with a car.... ah memories :):):)
We in Detroit, loved "The Bird." He was awesome!
1976 the start of our marriage that lasted 41 years. 🌟💕🌟
Awesome !!!! So happy with you both :):):)
Those were my best years I ever had. And what's more is that even though I Was only 6 at the time. I knew they were as good as it was gonna get. Thanks again, it must have Taken you a long! Time to edit this piece and finally put it all together.... Again it's awesome....!
Thank you so so much! I loved it!
My pleasure Pam :):):)
1976 I turned 18 years old I started working voluntarily at a nursing home. Also that year I was accepted to a nursing aide course at Fremantle Hospital.
Amazing thanks so much. I was 14 in '76. God how innocent those times seem compared to what came after. I love the fact that all the TV Shows had actual theme songs, the radio had jingles & commercials had songs & jingles as well.
I was either in my mom's womb swimming around, being born or a new born baby. July 9th 1976
my favorite year as a kid, I was six. Buttermaker,, Rocky, Big Red Machine, and my parents being okay with me seeing rated r movies at the drive in
Ah yes, back before the illegal alien problem. Back when V8 Vegas and V8 Chevy Luv pickups were still seen on the road... when every man could change a flat tire, and nobody carried their camera phone around. Back when kids rode their bicycles all over until dinner, then out again in the street to play catch. Not many fat kids back then, and each one knew which bathroom to use.
Ahh the good old days :):):)
Truth!
I was with you up until the last sentence. "Not many fat kids back then, and each one knew which bathroom to use." I was a tweeny in '76, I never thought I would make it past 35 years old. Because 35 was really old. And now I'm a great grand mother with a gay child. And I can't imagine what that's like, let alone back then. That your attitude is still prevalent sickens me.
@@kathcasey2090 your offspring do not know which bathroom to use?
I agree except for illegal aliens and bathroom issues.
Love every one! I hate to see that test pattern at the end : ( Thanks as always Johnny!! We, who grew up then definitely had the best decade : )
What a fantastic year! Movies that are eternal and music that was right behind them. And finally, Barry Manilow!! Yes, yes, I was the ONLY person in my eighth grade class who enjoyed Barry Manilow or, perhaps, the only one who admit it! Many of the movies in this vid I have in my collection. Life was just so much...SO much nicer, back then.
Oh my, if only I could turn back time!!
I tried my best Kelly :)
R.I.P. Penny Marshall and Darryl Dragon. ☹
Not to mention Mr. Berry! (& sadly... a whole bunch of others!)
Also RIP Phillip McKeon (Alice)
Mmmm...was it good for you, too? THANK YOU for doing this! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️🙋🏻
Hey Sarah Girl ! That it was LOL. Thank you for tuning in :) - JB
Johnnyboy792 These are so great! Thank YOU!
More coming.... all the best to you. :)
Thanks for the update! '76 was a particularly difficult year for me & mine... but you remind me that there are still pleasant memories from that time! Oh... & did EVERYONE at that time have their own Comedy-Musical-Variety Show???
It sure seemed that way didn't it ? LOL
Rocky was a big topic of discussion at school. Most of the kids thought he should have gotten the decision and won the fight.
Thanks for another slam dunk JB!
Thanks Eric. I left out a lot on the first video and tried to right some wrongs. :):):)
I remember everyone of those liked them too
Thank you Luke :):):) - JB
Fuckin! Incredible. That was my year. I was 6 years old and I knew that 1976 was the end of the greatest! Period in our lifetime. Movie trailers, commercial spots, TV shows. You hit it everything! perfect. This should run forever....! Awesome job. Thanks, I. Really mean that.....
My only movie memory from '76 was THE PINK PANTHER STRIKES AGAIN
Kato... is that you ? :)
I was Class of 76. Our Class Song was "Imagine."
I was a Freshman myself.... but it was a great year ! Thank you for taking the time to watch :)
Always loved the Revenge that Carrie pulled. That will teach the bullies. Spent half of the year in Central California and the later half back home in Los Angeles. I still have the Top 100 from 76. I finally transferred it from tapes CD. Thanks again for the memories. How come things look better after the fact, down the road?
Thanks Randy !!!!
Many thanks for the time travel, totally amusing and breathtaking.
Thank you Victor. I hope the time machine brought you a smile on this freezing day :):):) - JB
Great work as always!!!!!!
I would like to check out that movie " The little girl down the lane" looks good!
Anyways, thanks for sharing! I get joyful and kinda sad watching your videos but I appreciate every one of them!
There were more movies that made more money then, but strictly from my point of view... so many people were talking about it then. Here's hoping the joy outweighs that sad :):):)

yes.. I had a crush on Dorothy Hamill :)
Didn't we all... I was jazzed when I found out that in 76 she lived one town over from me :):):)

Well, March 23, 1976 I was born 😂🎈
That's why I made it for you Twinkles :)
I was in the Bicentennial class of 1976.just think,in 57 years there will be a Tricentennial class.
A red white & blue year for sure :)
21 years to the class is born
Wow didn't know the meow mix song commercial dates back to the 70s i thought it evolved from the early 2000s
Hmm, I think that Yankee game was one of the first times the fans invaded the field. Those guys must have been afraid they would be mauled.
I was actually at that game... Dad convinced me that the Yanks had it on ice with a 6-3 lead and we left early. Brett then tied it wit a 3-run homer and I begged him to go back.... from the looks of it, it looked dangerous :)
@@Johnnyboy792 Was that the very moment you realized dad wasn't infallible?

That was crazy!
Hey JB; You still have to update 1968 and put the Tigers winning the World Series on the video. You owe us here in Detroit!
Sorry for the omit Paulette... however as you saw I did add Mark Fydrich and I didn't forget the riots :):):) Thanks again !!!

Any chance you will be able to put 1977 video back on. Your videos are very good and bring back many memories!! Thanks
I plan to... but Damn YT keeps raining on my parade :(
I saw the Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane on a channel that played it as the Saturday afternoon movie. It freaked me out!!!! Great movie, though.
Underrated. As I remembered, although it wasn't a huge blockbuster at the time, everyone seemed to be talking about it. And it won some awards too. A memory flash at the last minute and I installed it in the revamp. :):):)
6 years old 💖
you should have included the movie Car Wash
I watch that movie not too long ago and it is so totally 1970s
@@tolfan4438 i know thats why i said it should have been included
Thanks for trying on the 1964 video just now! What exactly is the problem? This is all publicly available information to view, just edited & spliced together!? We went on a binge watch of all of these when I discovered them not long ago and we really enjoyed them, as what you deemed as important or interesting or funny to the specific year, we agreed on as well! I hope you can make whichever changes might be necessary and reupload the videos and continue to make more of them! Don’t get discouraged. Thanks!
Hi Dan. YT is breaking my cookies with their copyright policies. Trying to fix it now.
Johnnyboy792 AWESOME! THANKS BROTHER! ✌🏻 GOOD LUCK! We look forward to the next instalments!
Hey, Bruce Jenner. I know his sister.
I love how movie trailers used to be. They made you want to see the film, not think you already had.
Didn't know he had a sister LOL... anyway thank you for your kind comments Lacey ... more coming down the road :)
@@Johnnyboy792 Thank you. I look forward to that.

Logans Run was a huge hit in 76, much bigger than some of the movies shown here. Why the snub? I'm sure you will at least cover the TV version in your 77 coverage.
Sorry Owen ! I could only fit so many movies in. It made a respectable 25 million. My apologies :)
I was 5 but still remember.
I do have a 71' birthday video for you too Susan. Thank you - :)

he was born with facial paralysis on one side of his mouth. That's why he has that snarl.
I loved "Family". My sister said she was like Nancy and I was Buddy.
TRUE !!!
I graduated high school in 1976. It was the bicentennial and we all had minutemen on our tassles. (Mine currently hangs on the doorknob of my hallway door.) Other than that it was a pretty uneventful year for me.
But Rocky came out !!!! LOL
Honestly, the 1970's were not a good era for me. I was absolutely thrilled when they ended. I remember bringing in 1980 while in the arms of my handsome boyfriend -- I'd never been so happy to start a new decade.
@@rebeccarivera238 It was Disco... ruined a lot of people :)

The only two pro football teams that existed were Dallas and Pittsburg in the mid to late seventies.
How could the same year that gave us such memorable classics as The Bad News Bears and Rocky, give us such a turd as that awful remake of King Kong?
the scary part was that there were 3 great actors in it...Jeff Bridges, Jessica Lange and Charles Grodin...but it still sucked!
@@JOECANDELA22 So bad acting clearly isn't the culprit.
