This was the greatest year, as that's the year I was born! Yeah 1965!
I knew that LOL :)
In 1965 I was finishing the 1st grade & starting the 2nd, loved my Saturday morning cartoons, Captain Kangaroo before school, playing outside after school, on weekends & vacations, missed a lot of Prime Time TV because we weren't allowed to stay up past 8 p.m., but in the summer we could stay up a little later, I remember watching Red Skelton, the Jackie Gleason show (from Miami), Betwitched, Gomer Pyle, on Sunday nights it was Walt Disney and Ed Sullivan. Girls were skirts or dresses to school, no questions asked. I loved my Kiddle dolls, Barbie dolls and my Easy Bake Oven.
Awsome I’m young but I love hearing stories about old people no offense
I will never forget 1965. 15 years old .Mirtha Aponte was my 1st girlfriend. I loved Miriam Colon very much. I loved and never forgot the tv shows. Never forgot the tv commercials. 1965 is the only year that I will always cherish the memories when I was just 15 years old.
.... and I always think about Melissa Ann Pelupe.... where are you ? :)
i can honestly say these time capsules are as good as anything i have ever seen on the internet
It was also the year that my all-time favorite show, Green Acres, debuted on CBS.
I was born in 1965 what a great year! Elizabeth Vasquez 😇
Thanks Elizabeth !!!

My job is completed... thank you :)
I was 7 years old in 1965 and madly in love with The Beatles and just about every song that played over the radio! Never went to see Sound of Music, and didn't understand The Cincinnati Kid or Von Ryan's Express but absolutely LOVED Elvis Presley in Girl Happy. Hogan's Heroes meant Friday night Chinese food dinner. And my sister and I still bathed with Mr. Bubbles. And I've never missed a telecast of A Charlie Brown Christmas since the night it first aired. Thanks for another great trip down memory lane. Makes me miss my mother, yet makes me happy to remember when I still had her.
h Rebecca, you have all the memories :):):) Girl Happy is also one of my Elvis Favs. My next video which I'm working on now has their arrival. Thanks ever so much..... Geez I'm hungry for Chinese now :)
I was 5 with my whole life ahead of me.
In grade school in suburban Philadelphia. I was 8 years old that year. (I am now 63.) And it was on my 8th birthday that my grandmother took me to see The Sound of Music at the old Midtown Theater in downtown Philadelphia.
Pat's or Geno's ? :)
Another wonderful video...and on Christmas! Thank you! I turned three that year. 😎
We're getting close to your birthday video Mel !!! :) Have a wonderful holiday !!! - JB
I was only 1 in 1965 but have seen all the shows because they were either still on the air in the early 70's or were in syndication.
I was 10.
REMEMBER it all!! I was 8.... 65 was one of my fondest years growing up.Great music, great TV, awesome movies... life was good....so much innocence.
So true Bear... thanks for watching :)
And mom and dad paid for everything!
Thank You For That Amazing Montage Of Memories! Well Done!👌😀

I was 9. That was a time to be a kid.
:)
We came home from being stationed overseas that year, and, like every American kid, couldn't wait to get home to see all the TV shows we were missing out on.
I was just getting ready to start 7th grade in the fall.
we had tornados in Colorado, which was almost unheard of, along with bad flooding.
We did go to see Sound of Music.
Ahh middle school.... the boys heads are turning :)
Wow, 1965 was a great year, I was born in '63 which would make me 2 on that year!
I'll get to your birthday video eventually Bob :) Thanks for watching :)

Amazing pictures from space but the television images are rough... Lol
I was in kindergarten, but I remember that the jingles and pop songs were very popular and changing the words to make them inappropriate or irreverent was a huge pastime among almost all grade schoolers that I knew.
We'll never forget them :)
I like to read old newspapers from Google Newspaper Archives. It's youtube videos like yours that makes the past come alive.

That year when had the awesome JFK quarter.
Thanks Johnnyboy for this download. A lot of happy memories, no flashbacks yet!
I was newlywed! ❤
1965 was the year that I was born. A totally different time and age! It was like 64, the year of the British invasion. Beatles, Stones, Mini shirts and James Bond. Mary Poppins ( made in 64] was the most succesfull movie of the year, followed by the Sound of music (that runned in cinema for over 3 years!). Dr. Zhivago hardly Seven in 1965, because the release date was december 31, 1965! Like Mary Poppins hardly runned in 1964, It was released in december 25 1964 (after a limited première in Disney cinema in August 1964) and was in cinema for 16 months.

I like your videos very much but how can you represent music from 1965 and not include "Like A Rolling Stone" the song that influenced and changed rock music forever. Thanks for the video.
Just curious. Are you a history teacher? If not, you would have made a great one.
Well thank you Thomas. No but I wouldn't mind it. I love history because it teaches human tendencies. Politician Huey Long wanted to tax the wealthy an obscene amount in 1934 and distribute amongst the poor. And here we are 85 years years later with politicians preaching it again. I love doing the research and condensing it so it becomes a time machine. Kids write me because they think how cool it was to grow up during their parents era when they see it.. It's a fun hobby and I'm happy people enjoy it. Thanks so much for writing.

Where is "Like A Rolling Stone", or "Positively Fourth Street?" Your videos are great but they have one glaring omission- absolutely nothing about Bob Dylan

I thought it was great until some clips at the end that were definitely not from 1965, Churchill being the most obvious example. Stick with what you labelled and don't throw in other nostalgia.
