Those are excellent counter questions. Because people in their homes don't cut their nails and don't put on headscarves when they're cooking in their own kitchens.

I wasn't the one that made those comments however, please permit me to respond to the comments.
I think the basic reasons for such comments may be:
    1. Wearing an apron is just to protect your dress from getting stained during cooking.
    2. Covering your hair with a scarf is to prevent falling hairs from getting into the food you are making
    3. Cutting your finger nails is to prevent you from getting injured when kneading, give you a better grip of kitchen utensils and also to prevent food particles from getting stuck in your finger nails.
I think these are just kitchen ethics and safety measures 😊😊😊

    • @salomesebi8445
      @salomesebi8445 Месяц назад +3

You're right but realistically, if you wear long nails, you can't cut it because you'll be in front of the camera. Lastly, even chefs don't wear caps unless they're in their restaurants else in videos such as these, it's cool. The apron isn't a big deal either. But your points again are valid.

Well Ify, people appreciate you, that's why ...and seeing you as a Kitchen Guru, they think you should bring on the table/ exemplify all the etiquette required in the kitchen from the looks to the prep to ensure food safety and such like. No jokes, but in a meal once prepared by a chef we engaged as a family for an occasion, we found a full finger nail in the food. We've not used that Chef again, no never. So well, I think it's more from a positive perspective when such comments are made. Well done Ify for your lovely recipes.

I really hate how people like to dampen the spirits of other people. One thing I learnt was even if you drink water, people will still complain that you're chewing too loudly.
The issue is in real life, 99% of those criticising you dont have anything going on for them like you do.
I cook without an apron or headcover and definitely wear long nails because I'm comfortable cooking with it.
Madam please ignore them, they will still talk even if you start using an apron or headcover saying that it's not colourful enough

Ify we love you and appreciate what you do. The truth is one, ever job/ work has ethics , cooking or being a chef has it ethics, wearing white uniform, a head cover and apron is for a reason not fashion. white to maintain hygiene, head cover to prevent hair getting into you food and apron to protect your clothes. At home we ignore all this rules becouse no one will qurred such actions but in a food factory or standard restaurant where you are paying huge amount of money for a meal ...you will definitely expect professionalism and high lever hygiene which includes clean and short nails.

Hi Ify, I have watched very many of your videos, and I must say you are an amazing cook. Well, personally not putting on a scarf or apron or not covering the hair as you make food for your family is totally fine. However, I have noticed that, if the hair is not covered, it tends to carry the aroma of the food you are cooking, imagine if it's a native soup, omo!...lol, you won't like the smell of the hair later after it has mixed with sweat .Also, depending on the hair, you might want to cover because of hair particles entering the food. So, yes, I think it's idle to cover the hair. But for nails , depends on if you can handle long nails, and you cook neatly, because of germs that can be harbored under the nails. Then for the apron, I don't think it's necessary...lol, the cloth will still be dirty regardless, except of cause you need the apron pockets!...lol

  • @joannejable

Wearing a hairnet is important as hair
has a way to get into food. Long nails are pretty but really not sanitary. It traps a lot of bad microorganisms. I hesitate to eat from people who prepare food with long nails. Short nails are a requirement in many places based on good food safety practices. That's my input.

Hi all, I may agree it is okay because we are all culprits in these practices, but as models and professionals, we must be honest with ourselves. I see cooking with long polished nails without gloves as unhygienic because of its polymer compounds and chemicals such as acrylic polymer, methacrylate are toxic when ingested. ( homogenized with alcohol/ spirit like ethyl acetate to give it a life span and lush)
When in contact with other chemicals or substance like water, hot food , steam, vapour dissolves gradually into our food and system unnoticed. .
Nail polish has nitrocellulose (film forming polymer), this is dissolve in ethyl acetate or butyl acetate (spirit) too.
Gel nail polish has plasticizer, methacrylate compounds and photoinitiator etc.
So I'm just creating awareness as a polymer Engineer for our assimilation and caution. I would have highlighted more but you look up these chemicals and their effects.
    Peace and Blessings.

It's your food. Your kitchen. So what does it matter? You aren't feeding the people that comment, so it's none of their business. You could get flour all over you, but they aren't washing your clothes. You could get a hair in your food, but they aren't eating it. You do you. Ignore the haters. They would find something else to complain about anyway. You can't worry about what haters say. Your food looks delicious, and I would have no problem eating anything you make.

My comment is there are a lot of people who cant mind their own bussiness- i only look for content that is upbeat, useful or entertaining and if i dont like what im watching then i only give my opinion if they ask for it or i just switch off. I was hoping you would have the ingredients in the description- its hard to not be bothered by people- but just choose to anyway.

A professional chef who doesn't understand why aprons are worn in the kitchen. Sis, you suppose just keep quiet . The day you accidentally spill red oil on a white blouse, you'll understand.

All those are kitchen Ethics,But if you're comfortable without using hair coverage,Apron and long fixed Nails you can as well continue without Bothering to Undergo all of that😊

I thought aprons were so that YOU don’t get YOUR clothes stained.
So if you like palm oil and tomato all over your cloth, who’s business!?? Lool.
The comments are wild though, because you’re literally cooking privately. Or am I missing something? Are people eating your meals from their phones now?? 😮😅😅
People always talk! It’s sad. But has come to be the reality.

It's about being around food. I have seen hair fall out of my head. It's about being sanitary around food. The apron is for protection. The long nails is a no no

    I think it's nonesense!
If you were a chef cooking for commercial purposes, then those public health rules would apply. But since it's your home, please DO YOU. The world will adjust.
Some people are just jealous coz they can't maintain such long nails while cooking. Infact some men don't believe a lady with such long nails can cook or clean 🤣🤣🤣
