10:30 Great work on the close up of that excavator with the claw attachment dispensing fresh new ties along the right of way. I've always wanted to see how those kind of machines work 👍👍.

I wonder if they fit within gauge when the arm is folded down for moving, or if they have to have a careful route plan.

It probably was PRR originally. Those cars do not have air brakes. They have an airline that is straight through. The brakes are hand-operated only. That type of scale car is supposed to be the last car of a train, it was run behind the caboose when cabooses were used. The modern scale cars are modified flats with an engine to operate a hydraulic pump to lower and lift the test weight that is carried in the car and is lowered onto the scale rails so the test weight is separate from the car.

I thought it was part of a GP-38 pusher experiment that was torn apart heading back to Altoona shops where the NS horse doctors could conceive some new environmental friendly remotely controlled unit.

I've been watching a private storm-chasing livestream by Daniel Shaw in this area and there have been some amazing storms with huge hail, spectacular lightning, and truly indescribable cloud structure. While we ride along as "passengers" looking for storms to watch, I'm looking for trains. Last night, we were in Clovis and I saw plenty of huge freights waiting their turn at the signals.
There's nothing like train-chasing in that area right through to Strafford, TX. On an actual tour I was on many years ago, the BNSF freight traffic was an amazing sight all of its own with freight after freight chasing each other on the tracks that paralleled the highway we were on. At night, the signals can be seen all lit up and progressively go from green, to flashing yellow, to red.

I can't even work out what it is? It kinda looks like a SD9 or SD18 with a fuel tank removed, but then the bodywork looks off, as does the cab. Something newer made up to look like an early SD? then why leave daylight under the frame and ruin it, or have the cab windows spaced too far apart. It looks a BIT like a DRS-6-6 but then it doesn't. Also it seems to be a Norfolk & Western Livery that says Norfolk and Southern.
