Great discussion... i did my best to teach Cuba Libre and more recently People Power on my channel using methods similar to Rodney Smith's style. The Playbooks are *pretty* good but they might not cover everything a new player needs.
I agree. I rarely use the playbooks unless looking for a specific example. Did you find People Power easier to teach than Cuba Libra. I do think the British Way is now a very good intro to COIN. Thanks for watching!
@@RollDiceTakeNames yeah, People Power is definitely easier to teach, the only catch being the difference between the 3 factions. But the Non-Violent faction is a great primer for Gandhi, which has MANY more complexities, but I think it's truly worth it (my favourite COIN so far)
Wish I had Cuba Libre so you could teach me! :) However, I'll be taking the plunge when Red Dust Rebellion arrives, since put my P500 order in a while back. The other COIN I'm interested in is Liberty or Death.
This group in the video has decided to tackle Liberty or Death as the next version of the game is currently at the printers. But if you pick up Cuba Libre, I'll be glad to do another teaching session!

The question is? Cubes on a board or counter insurgence in the jungle?
Great!!! Now I can never play again without thinking about that 😃 -Marty

It is very difficult to hear what Ben H is saying. His audio is really bad.
