For me personally, your way of explaining is awesome. I like the way you priorize rules and how you ontroduce them as you play. I d say this is my favourite boardgame channel. Thanks, Jon!
OK... this got my attention. I didn't think much of this game at first, but it looks like exactly the sort of game I like. Thanks for the video!
Excellent Tutorial... and what a mess for the yellow player, almost near to a table flip 😂
That was by some margin the best tutorial I have watched on board games. Further it has really got me excited about the game which I ordered today and is arriving tomorrow. Jon, you are such a star, thank you so much for this and for the rest of your channel.
Thanks for the kind words! I hope you ended up enjoying the game.
Jon you have an incredible skillset in being able to learn new games at the rate you do & explain them in such simple terms for us to understand. Thank you for what you do, in a way Im glad I don't like most of the games you do playthrus for, otherwise I might be broke again :P All the best and thank you for the amazing content!
Thanks for the kind words :)
@@JonGetsGames happy holidays
Yet another amazing job on this tutorial, your explanation is stelar so I bought myself a copy of Nucleum😊
Love you man, you are one of the absolute GOATS in the industry when it comes to teaching and playthroughs
:) Thanks so much.
Once again Jon your teaching of games is excellent. I now look to your playthrought teaches to try and learn a new game. I have already pre-ordered this one.
it's scary to learn because of the duration of the video, but the way you explain is so well thought it becomes very simple. Congratulations on this awesome video.
Jon you are unmatched!
Thanks for the video Jon... an excellent job once again!
Seeing this pop up on my subs made me very happy. Excited for this game. Kudos Jon!
Jon, you make complex games very easy to understand. I really like your flow where you gradually introduce the rules as you play. Looking forward to playing Nucleum :)
I was waiting for this video!
Thank you Jonathan. This looks like it is going to be a smash hit in my house. I am excited to get it. Your rules teaches always help me to cement my decision.
Thank you Jon. Your explanations are always clear and concise. You are appreciated.
Thanks so much for this, you explain it so well and are just so pleasant to listen to. ❤ I cannot wait to get this to the table this week ☢️
Already pre-ordered this for Essen (Luciani-games for me are simply no-brainers) and this video just gets me even more excited to get my hands on it :D
100% no doubts jon is the best in the biz at laying things out so clearly that regular joes can figure it out
:D Thank you so much.
This is one of your best videos. It’s a great teach and I like the range of options that are presented in the game. Planning, choosing what to focus on or avoid, resource management and development seem to be the key options. I suspect it will be a few games before I get the hang of all of this. Fortunately the iconography looks pretty good, which will help.
Jon! Another excellent offering! I laughed out loud at the “greedy yellow player” comment 😂.
Your stream of consciousness and talking through the thought process of each action is such a boon when one is trying not only to learn rules but get a grasp of game flow. The podcast was great too. Nick strikes me as a somewhat cutthroat player; he might fit in well with our group that plays “defense” aggressively against perceived leaders.
Sorry I missed you at BGG. Still hoping to play something with you eventually. Happy New Year!
I'm glad you like my video style :) Thanks for the kind words!
This was really good. Thank you Jon.
Wow! Thanks, Jon! You made me understand this game effortlessly! You’re a very good teacher. Awesome game too. I feel Nucleum is going for the number 1 spot at BGG within the next two years. What a deep and rewarding game.
great tutorial, super clear!
Finally a tutorial! Thks now i can finally play with my friends on tts!!!!
I absoultely love your detailed and deliberate method of explanation. Nothing is left out and I get such a great idea of gameplay. This was a tough one when I first opened the box, and you have clarified this so very well, I am just about ready to get this to the table and teach it.
Thanks for the kind words, I hope you enjoy it!
Excellent video, it helped immensely 👍
Hey Jon! I hope you're great! I blindly pre-ordered this game without any details about it, not knowing the gameplay and stuff. So I have to say that you made my day by realeasing this video. Thanks a lot:)
I hope you enjoy the game :)
This is impressive. Thanks Jon, I’ll be looking for this at Essen
I just want to thank you for going into so much detail in your tutorials! I live in Taiwan, but I don't speak Chinese. I sometimes go to a local board game cafe to play a new game against strangers who often can't explain the rules in English (not that I expect them to). When I go to such an event, I know I'll need to know the rules in advance like the back of my hand. Videos from other channels like Watch it Played or Gaming Rules, while awesome for quick overviews, aren't suitable for my needs. Your videos allow me to walk into an event, sit down at my first ever playthrough of a serious game, and mop with the floor with my opponents. Tomorrow, I'm playing Nucleum for the first time. They won't know what hit them!
I won by four points!!! The game's owner was 2nd. Amazing game.
Nice!
great explanation that helped me with some rule errors we did. And it's fun to see, that you pronounce the German and Czech city names quite well. Always fun to watch. Still looking for an opponent for Stronghold Undead (with your video on the side)
This is a must get for Essen!
Hi, great video as always! Maybe it was worth noting, that Praha is a bit special. It doesn't count as a city of any color for Contracts and that energized buildings there score double the points
This feels a bit like Boonlake. The action selection tiles, the way the board is populated with buildings... Interesting...Thanks for the playthrough.🙂
Brass+Boonlake))) my fav games)
Jon - great tutorial cannot wait to get my pre-order in. How would you rate this one versus other Luciani and Turczi in terms of difficulty and how much u liked it?
It's one of my favorite Luciani and Turczi, not sure exactly what my rankings would be though. There are a lot of rules here though, it takes me at least 45 minutes to teach it.
@@JonGetsGames
Yes, I have taught it about five times now, the teaching is rough but it is certainly a great game. I wish there were about 10 to 15% less rules.
Consider trying Barrage again with at least 3P. I did not like it at first but now it is the top three game for me, play it all the time on BGA.
Neat to see gameplay on such a hyped game.
I wonder what kind of "workers" do you get by spending Uranium. Hulk build infrastructure.
Hi Jon! Any chance of covering Lisboa or Messina 1347? Thanks!! ❤🧡
Nice
For example. If building of yellow player is build in Karlsbad can he use green player road and build construction in Plauen or not ?
Hello Jon ! Nice Tutorial here :) i have a question, can i complete contracts which demand to have buildings in green, orange, white or purple cities with buildings in Praha which has the 4
colours ?
No, Praha can't be used for completing color based contracts.
So wish you continued the play..
54:20 - do you get the Taler from the Taler-Income immediately? You go back to 4 Talers, but the reward is only a income increase I believe.
And thanks for the video! Really hoped you‘ll put one out for this one :)
He didn't get the Thaler from the Thaler income immediately. He went back to 4 Thalers because he had a tech that gave him a Thaler whenever he energized a building.
Hi and thank's for your video of this game. Is it language independent?
Yeah, I think it is.
17:31 Tell me, Jon, how satisfying is it to slide those technologies into their slots? To me it looks like this game's easiest sell.
When I played it with a final copy it did feel nice for sure, but they do slide differently from this prototype.
Thank you for the great video ! I can't wait for this, it's an intant buy for me ! The only (small) thing that I don't like are those awful "power plants". 3D card board structures ? Really ? Make it wooden or plastic please ! I wouldn't mind at all if it was a 2D token, but I really dislike 3D cardboard.
at 54:39 - where do you get the additional Taler?
Huh, I honestly don't know! I wonder if something got lost in the edit. strange.
Is both putting out flip-able tiles and turbines called "urbanizing"? ETA: Turbines are "industrialization"
Turbines and Mines are industrialization, it's possible I mispoke at some point and said urbanization though.
I was so confused. Did he say 'Tollars'? Is that my hearing wrong or does he have a sort of speech impediment? I ended up looking it up and found that's what this game calls their money! LOL! I was relived I wasn't just hearing things! Now I want to call every game's money tollars!
Taler was a real German currency. It's the word Dollar comes from apparently. I'd never heard of it before Oranienburger Kanal either.
There are a few other Euro games that use it.
You think is fun cos you think taler is named by dollars
53:42 shouldn't you have refilled from the golden stack? Before you said you always refill from the OTHER pile.
It only refills from the other pile once the correct pile is depleted.
@@JonGetsGames oh, must have misunderstood it. Thanks for clarifying!
9:30 you said there is no network in the beginning (like with Brass Birmingham), so you can put the building anywhere it fits. But then you say you put it into Karlsbad because Karlsbad is in your network? I guess technically it isn't, right? You are just starting a network?
Seems its missing the best part of brass, the interaction in using each others stuff.
Soo it’s Brass Birmingham combined with Mosaic
At 4:33 you introduced the Industrialize actions as Urbanize
Gah, yeah I got mixed up there.
This looks like Nuclear Barrage. But without the water mechanic.
I am not sure if this happens to only me or other videos as well. I read thru the rulebook on final scoring (Pg 20) ; this is what it says:
If a player has one or more Achievement tokens left at this stage, they may place a Milestone marker on the Milestone track as described under “Recharge” but without triggering any effects (King’s Day Scoring, Nucleum placement, gaining Technologies, etc.) nor gaining any income . The limit of 1 Milestone marker per player per tier still applies.
When I started playing, I was not aware of such rule. Also, when I watched videos, it was not explained. I think this is an easy edit if you can add just as a side note that it is there.
Good point, I have added this into the subtitles.
So many Brass B&L mechanics.
4:34 i think this action should be called industrialize
Yeah, I got mixed up there.
Brass set a school for the authors😉
my feedback as with most overly complicated games is...if u took 1 or 2 aspects of this game out... do u still have a coherent game...i think the answer is yes...so why add extra stuff in if not needed? i have some ideas about that.....
Please man. I have been a follower and a fan of you since your beggining. I like you and your style so much that im gonna be honest. Lose the hair!!!
I find it fun, and I'll keep it as long as that's the case. I don't think it looks particularly good, but fortunately my face doesn't show up much in my videos :)
Mixture of Barrage and Brass? Do we really need this? I will skip it for sure.
tollers is by far the most obnoxious name for a game currency.
its thalers)
This game is a complete dumpster fire. I love your videos but this game... holy hell.
