Definitely blade it down. Shaving the head completely actually makes a gent look younger. One of the best benefits I have enjoyed having gone bald is saving about $500 a year on barbers 😁
Roger B I think so too. Looks clean. Check out this video. You might agree with some of the points I make about cost ruclips.net/video/0snTA0qfJeQ/видео.html
+DRE day , "...it is not costing you anything" Well apart from Razor's (which ain't cheap), shaving gell/cream/foam, the cost of a warm water running Tap, pre shave shit you may put on/post shave shit you may put on, an if you like me it's an every day task (I hate my head sticking to the pillow due to my stubble). I'd much rather (if I had enough hair) visit the Barbers after work on a Friday (once every 4-6 weeks), spend 10 mins in a Barbers chair, Pay £10 for my haircut (that's about 12/13 Dollars), go home, take a quick shower, then I'm done for another 4-6 weeks.
Thanks for these videos man. 38 years old and have always loved having hair. Starting to face the cold reality that in the coming months I should just pull the bandaid off and shave it right down. I RUclipsd videos about baldness to psyche myself up for the big buzz. Seeing people out there positive about it really helps. I want to age with dignity and just embrace the situation, like you are. I know how to not let today's head get to me, so even if I don't like a bald head I will know how to not let that get to me too. :)

@@LEV1ATHYN This is also something that will help. I can take jokes and comments from people I know because I know they are my friends. It's walking in the "mass" I was a little bit worried about. I’m not a male but I shave my head every two days so I have time for my scalp to heal between shaves. I can’t stand any more or less. My hairline is quite far back so I prefer to shave bald rather than do buzz cut.
Easiest way to avoid irritation, apply a good moisturizing conditioner while shaving instead of a shaving cream and go slow. 2 passes with the grain and then a final pass against the grain. I shave 3 times a week and never once had visible irritation. Make sure to reapply the conditioner as often as needed. It keeps the skin smooth so the blade glides over the skin but still gets a very close shave. Never once nic'd myself this way. Once you're done shaving, apply a thin layer of conditioner as well to keep the skin moisturized. I never get any head acne or cuts. Always a smooth shaving. Also another pro to conditioner, if your razor needs changed and do you start to notice a bit or irritation ( red spots or marks on your head) the conditioner will help clear up that irritation in a few hours. Also, dont go cheap on the conditioner. You want a good quality one. I personally use OGX Nourshing + coconut milk. Smells great and really does the job well. This can be found at walmart
Same here man! Still not perfect because my skin is really sensitive but since I went from shaving cream to conditioner and it is a game changer. Did we watch the same video from our bald brother?
I have a full head of hair but have chosen to go totally bald. It's a bucket list thing and I like it. I find an old Remington electric 3 head razor works best for me and i shave every day or 2 ... yo, I'm 22, going bald as fuck and have been growing my hair for almost a year now trying to hide that bald spot you know, tying that shit up backwards but now it's just not working as well as I had hoped. I used to do once a week then went to every two days, now I just shave everyday everyday because my hair grows fast.. thanks for the video. Great insight
I just shave my head every few months . I only grow hair in the back and on the sides . I use the clippers and I just was told I can use the manual razor. I been receiting since I was 17 . I’m 42 now . So it’s 25 years . I love my bald head. It makes me feel confident .
Right now, I'm doing a buzz cut once a week. So far that is working for me. I use the 1 guard, but it seems to grow back really fast, so I might to with the 0 guard. I love simplicity and by doing this I don't have to worry about it for the entire week. However, my baldness is going back from the front and not at the crown, so it's a good look for me, but if I was going bald at the crown, I might go with the complete shave.
IT IS A REALLY HELPFUL VIDEO. YOU COVERED PARTS WHICH I WAS WORRIED ABOUT. ESPECIALLY I HAD DOUBT ABOUT GOING 0 ON SIDES ANS KEEPING HAIRS ON TOP. THANK YOU SO MUCH MAN.
I think if your hair is very dark then you need to shave it in. Mine is quite light so when I buzz it in very tight it looks consistent. That way I can generally avoid a wet shave.
Patrick Doherty I think you are right. In the podcast I did with Dan he hadn’t buzzed his hair for a week and you could hardly notice. With mine it’s noticeable within a few days.
This is such an awesome channel. And I agree, it depends on the type of balding pattern the individual has and what they are comfortable with. I myself, have started to go with the full razor shave recently. Took a while to get used to, but I feel so much tidier and cleaner.
Just tried it, and wow it looks much better ! If your skull shape is straight up on the sides instead of rounder, it looks much better 'shaved'. I just did it with buzzer at #1 setting, as I've got blonde hair so it achieves the same exact look, but doesn't take as long as with a shaver. Probably wouldn't have tried if I didn't watch this first. thanks
I have to do it every morning... my hair on the sides grows sooo fast and it’s extremely annoying... by the end of the day I can already feel the hair coming back.

I'm still quite happy with the shortest buzz cut and I generally go at it once a week. I become very aware that the sides are looking untidy over my ears if I leave it any longer. I still have some hair on top. For me, with guys who are bald on top, the Mr Burns look *never* looks good! 😉
I started getting thin hair that became noticeable around 25, i had long hair that i could braid as well so when i started just using electric tools to keep my head bald with a thing layer of hair and everyone says i look waaaay better and i agree whole heartedly, its a huge leap but when you start going bald you just gotta accept it and rock the bald look, facial haor will always be your friend to go along being bald too or you look creepy with no facial hair or head hair.
I'm just the same, thinning on top and thicker on the sides. I found that shaving every 2-days with a razor is the best. Usually it takes no more than 5 mins to be done. In regards to irritation, i have none. I use a razor pit to sharpen the razor blades first with 10 strokes and use a shaving gel. However i might try some coconut oil soon and see how it goes in terms of smoothness
Once every 3 days.. Aveeno shaving cream... BIC disposable razor... Selsun Blue shampoo daily... Exfoliate twice weekly... Use Tend Skin as an aftershave with a post-shave balm. I've been shaving for 20 years with no irritation
I’m balding exactly like you and I also use the razor to take it all off. I feel like it looks better for longer and I too feel more confident that way. At first I did the buzz cut and bought a nice set of clippers but after a bit I just went to the razor.
Old but gold. Im 27 been losing my hair on my crown for about 4 years and only became truly aware within the last year. Just thought friends and family were joking when they told me. I laughed they laughed that was it no one ever said" no but seriously" so that being said I've had alot of anxiety. I have good head of hair except my crown is almost completely bald. So lately I've been considering biting the bullet.
Personally I razor mine every 4 to 5 days and that doesn't really give the hair I do have enough time to get to any kind of annoying length. Top channel btw 👍🙂
Every other day for me too! I tried everyday but the razor bumps were brutal and if i let my hair grow out more then 3 days then i totally look like im 50 years old with my receding hairline
I have bladed it down but that was time consuming. I bought a bald buddy and it makes it so much quicker. I appreciate your videos. I too waited and one day just got tired of fighting it and buzzed it off. Eventually I wanted it shorter and shaved it with a razor.
Twice a week for me. I was using hair fibres for years as my thinning is at the front, but decided recently due to all the barber shops being shut to just shave it off. I have had a skinhead a few times over the years, i think this time i will just stay with it from here on out. I'm not out to impress anybody so why kid myself hiding the thinning!? It's crazy when you think about it 😆
Can confirm. With a bald patch on top it just looks better if u shave it all off. For the guys who want to try and trimm it in different lengths. It works pretty well butt just with less difference between bald patch and rest of the hair. Let's say on the sides go with 1mm and on the sides with 3mm. No one will notice. U can still see that u have a part where u have less hair but it looks even. But u need to trimm that at least every 4-5 days max. The longer you wait the more the bald patch stands out. FYI I have pretty light skin and dark brown hair.
I just bought wahl balding clippers and it’s great I recommend you to clipper it every 2 days so no one can’t tell that you are getting bold. Don’t shave it guys it’s so uncomfortable specially when you sweat
As a barber i tell my clieents that if they are going to shave their heads it should be every other day. For a buzz cut every other week. As for myself i shave my head daily, i use a foil shaver (whal 5 star. Available for professionals only). I use a after shave balm. Iike it clean and i feel better that way. By the way that is the #1 question i get. I also tell my clients once a month come to the shop for a face and head shave. With the service i provide a head and face massage.
Russell Bogrett I'm a barber too and I can tell you that the andis T-1 is much better and smoother than the Wahl foil shaver... Wahl shaver is painful and catches... and is is stronger and more powerful cut and it gets pure smooth and the metal parts are moveable with the movement you make whereas the Wahl ones dont
@@drugsbunny1884 never tried it but i will now. I never used one toll i hired a barber who used one so i bought one. My generation never used foil shavers in the barber shop we only had the straight edge.
Hey lads .... as I’m in United Kingdom and British I recommend you find a decent Pakistani barber shop 👍 the barbers are generally highly skilled at doing cut throat razor head shaves . Mine does it that way and after he gives my scalp a rub over with an electric shaver . After that you get a natural small crystal block which is rubbed all over the scalp as an antiseptic . You can’t go wrong and generally you won’t pay much more than 6quid . Try a few different barbers see who yah feel right with and generally avoid Friday mornings till about after 3.30 as they’re always packed out for guys grooming themselves for Friday mosque prayers. Anyways shop around see who you click with 👌
Great video. I am thinning up top. I wouldn’t quite say I’m balding yet though. I’ve been just getting a #1 cut all around and I seem to feel best this way.
i give my hair a quick electric shaver of 1.5 clipper length before i have a shower (every day) just to maintain the length, ive only just started cutting very short like this very recently, buzz cut is allot quicker and easier than shaving, i imagine people who shave dont do it every day
althogh i am not loosing hair and have full head of hair i am bald by choice something about being bald is so satisfying that i canr describe ur videos have helped to achive me the smooth head shave thanks man
indeed, there is something therapeutical and relaxing about having a shaved head. Having a full head of hair myself but I had to go bald one time after messing up a trim. After that I always got tempted to shave my head whenever my hair got too long and I do that every few months if feeling in need for a different hairstyle. Now with January 1st, I decided to stay bald by choice for a whole year and I'm shaving every morning to keep that smooth head. It really is satisfying feeling the razor shaving away the stubble and feeling your smooth head afterwards.
Wow I have the same exact hairless you are describing in this vid. I even went with the 3 on top and fade on the sides for the last 3 years. It just got to the point where my hairline was a little to high for my liking and before the week was up you could really see the thinning close to my hairline. I just buzzed it on sat with a 3/4 no guard and never really liked the look because I was able to still see the darker hair on the sides with different lighting. Im going to go down to a 0 no guard and just cut it every 2 days. This vid helped because I been undecided if other people can tell and I think they can. Regardless Its bothering me so I'm just do a 0. I will stay away from razors because Im scared of razor bumps. Question, how long does it take for you head to match your face? Im hispanic but im pretty lights skinned.
I've got the same type of balding as u do and a good head-shape like yours. I usually head shave entirely every 2-3 days with a Braun S3 as it gives me a close enough shave just like a manual razor would do but without any razor burns or ingrown hairs. I've also got the Philips OneBlade but i prefer the Braun S3 for head shaves and use the former for facial and body shaves.
Bryan Jonathan Williams Hey Bryan thanks for the advice. Going to try to review more products in the future so I’ll definitely try out the braun. Also glad to hear you have dealt with your own baldness well. Nice one!
Baldcafe It has been 8 years now since i've learnt to accept it. U're quite right, it makes u more confident and strong even though at first it is hard. Took me about 6 months to get over it. Regarding the Braun S3 i personally do a wet shave as the skin-pulling factor is less than a dry shave. I know some guys prefer dry shaves but i tend to find wet shaves much better for my skin and that's with both the Philips and the Braun. Btw love your vids :) !
Bryan Jonathan Williams Thank you! Really glad you like them and I’m really pleased to have guys like you here on the channel spreading positivity. Thank you
Baldcafe U're welcome. I find your vids very inspiring especially for guys who are balding and don't know how to deal with it. Subscribed this morning and been watching a couple of yours vids so far. I guess that i've got my afternoon sorted out :p !! keep up the good work !
I shave my head every day, but I actually do it in the evenings when I’m relaxed after work. Just massage my head with the Remington rx5 while I watch tv, then shower before bed. It’s enjoyable rather than a chore.
Yeah I was going with a really short buzz cut and doing it once a week for a few years. Now that I’m going completely bald, I’m doing it every second night. I enjoy the process of shaving my head completely bald (with an electric razor, only takes 2-3 minutes with zero mess)…..and keeping it that short 👍 It makes guys look sharper and more confident IMO 👌
About how many days since wet shave in the video ? Looks proper good like this man ! I’ve the typical horseshoe reverse U going on..I buzz every 3 days but don’t like the clean line from ear to ear but I do like a contrast in color. I’m not sure I’m ready for a Dwayne Johnson yet.
I currently go for a 0.5 buzz. I have to do it at least once a week to keep it looking how I want. I have a similar pattern baldness to you, but lighter hair. Because of this, it's only if it grows out past a 1 or 1.5 guard length that the pattern is pronounced.
Hey man, Check out my latest upload. I think if you are using a good enough razor shaving it every day might even be a way to avoid irritation. I'm trying it at the moment and so far so good!
My alopecia spots give me encouragement to keep it smooth every other day. I use defender blades and good shave soap/brush, so its more of a ritual than maintenance
@@Baldcafe pretty much the best cartridge razor across the board. My head shaves have been more efficient and faster (and cleaner) than most of the omnishaver videos I've seen
My baldness is similar to yours but I buzz cut once a week. By day 3 it already shows so I have to start using hats when going out. Will try the razor but still, to me, shaving every other day seems like a lot of work. But gotta do it if you want to look clean
I also think the smooth shave looks best! It looks more like a style instead of just going bald and having to buzz it down. It also helps if you shave at the end of a warm shower for me personally. I do it almost every evening if I'm bald, it feels like the skin gets more used to it that way. I also don't like the look of a really short buzz cut on myself even though I'm not (yet) going bald, smooth is just more clean and tidy in my opinion.
Definitely! But the only inconvenience for me is when wearing a cowboy hat or adjustable caps, they get stuck with my smooth scalp, if I grow the hair on the sides and back for 4 days, then they easily slide and fit perfectly, only the caps with the FLEX FIT elastic band fit perfectly when shaved (I wear caps only in cool weather, 60 degrees and below, because I sweat like crazy in hot weather and cant withstand a damp cap on my head)
I really want to grow a big beard like in you’re other videos. I just have a problem with fly aways and my mask always messing it up. It always ends up looking so unkempt. If you have any tips I would appreciate. Your amazing bro, keep looking cool

This is your best beard length dude! Looking cool!
Great video. My male pattern baldness is very similar to yours and I shave every 3 days.
Thanks man. Yea I like to keep mine shaved pretty regular. 3 days is the longest I will go without shaving.
You are a hero bro! You got me on the right track .. thank u
Buzz it off and I would say everyone's hair grows at different rates! I need to do it every other day!
Yeah me too, I currently shave it every other day.
I'm still quite happy with the shortest buzz cut and I generally go at it once a week.
I become very aware that the sides are looking untidy over my ears if I leave it any longer.
I still have some hair on top.
For me, with guys who are bald on top, the Mr Burns look *never* looks good! 😉
I started getting thin hair that became noticeable around 25, i had long hair that i could braid as well so when i started just using electric tools to keep my head bald with a thing layer of hair and everyone says i look waaaay better and i agree whole heartedly, its a huge leap but when you start going bald you just gotta accept it and rock the bald look, facial haor will always be your friend to go along being bald too or you look creepy with no facial hair or head hair.
just bladed down tonight. feels so good. Def takes a little while but eventually you will all be at peace with your shaven head.
I shave every 3 days. (Razor) it is easier and smoother to cut 3 day long hair rather than week long growth.
Thank you bro. Your videos are helping a lot.
Once every 3 days.. Aveeno shaving cream... BIC disposable razor... Selsun Blue shampoo daily... Exfoliate twice weekly... Use Tend Skin as an aftershave with a post-shave balm. I've been shaving for 20 years with no irritation
You look much better with this short beard than the long one you sport in most of your vids. Just my humble opinion :)
Your shaved head really suits you bro👌🏽
I’m balding exactly like you and I also use the razor to take it all off. I feel like it looks better for longer and I too feel more confident that way. At first I did the buzz cut and bought a nice set of clippers but after a bit I just went to the razor.
Yeah I was exactly there same. I think wet shaving with a razor keeps it looking cleaner and better. I feel much more confident that way.
You look awesome bro
Thank you!
Its satisfying when i shave my hair
Every other day for me too! I tried everyday but the razor bumps were brutal and if i let my hair grow out more then 3 days then i totally look like im 50 years old with my receding hairline
JKnowledge 😂😂 same problem man it’s not fun. It’s the worst if you leave it too long.
me too
Lol
Thanks bro, you have been very helpful 👍🏻.
Damn. He looks really good with the trimmed beard.
totally agree
Your hair looks great man, honestly.
I have bladed it down but that was time consuming. I bought a bald buddy and it makes it so much quicker. I appreciate your videos. I too waited and one day just got tired of fighting it and buzzed it off. Eventually I wanted it shorter and shaved it with a razor.
U look great. Great Tips n Advice 💪🏾
My pleasure
How does sweat make it uncomfortable?
As a barber i tell my clieents that if they are going to shave their heads it should be every other day. For a buzz cut every other week. As for myself i shave my head daily, i use a foil shaver (whal 5 star. Available for professionals only). I use a after shave balm. Iike it clean and i feel better that way. By the way that is the #1 question i get. I also tell my clients once a month come to the shop for a face and head shave. With the service i provide a head and face massage.
You can order that shaver on amazon
Anyways shop around see who you click with 👌
I shave every 2-3 days. Now, if only I can grow a beard 😩
Great video. I am thinning up top. I wouldn’t quite say I’m balding yet though. I’ve been just getting a #1 cut all around and I seem to feel best this way.
I used to shave with a rotary every single morning. Now, I shave every other night with the rotary and clean it up with a foil.
Damn I closed my eyes and couldn't tell the difference between your voice and Russell brand
You obviously dont listen to russel brand very often 🤣
I HEAR IT VERY SIMILAR
Everyday. My hair that i have left grows very fast. I also dont have irritation so everyday.
Pretty good then 👍
I shave every day before work against the grain I love the completely bald look
I believe that w/ summer"all the sun"coming every 3 days would be better than daily because the skin will be more sensitive
i give my hair a quick electric shaver of 1.5 clipper length before i have a shower (every day) just to maintain the length, ive only just started cutting very short like this very recently, buzz cut is allot quicker and easier than shaving, i imagine people who shave dont do it every day
Just buzz cut my hair I feel weird but looks better clean confident
Im so thankfull for your videos, it helps me a lot
althogh i am not loosing hair and have full head of hair
i am bald by choice something about being bald is so satisfying
that i canr describe
ur videos have helped to achive me the smooth head shave thanks man
indeed, there is something therapeutical and relaxing about having a shaved head.
@@LakituKoopa way to go mate
@@ibrahimnaveed9962 thanks! And your videos are awesome!
I do the wet shave every 2 to 3 days and it doesn’t take long at all honestly
JB3LL89 yeah I also shave every 2 days now in the shower works great.
I just like watching you😁
I’m not losing my hair but often buzz it anyway.
Bryan Jonathan Williams That’s so great to hear. Thank you once again.
I am currently rocking the marine look but with a grade 1 on top and bald back and sides it looks good blends in nicely
Robert Graham nice one man 👍 keep rocking it.
I shave my head every day, but I actually do it in the evenings when I’m relaxed after work. Just massage my head with the Remington rx5 while I watch tv, then shower before bed. It’s enjoyable rather than a chore.
me too, doesnt take me long, and i love moisturising my head too i feel fresh all over
Question. How do I grow an English accent?
The fastest way would be to move to England 💯 next would be listen to a ton of English people talking.
I have the front receding when I let it grow in like your old marine cut it looked like I had a toupee. I shave every 4-5 days now
I feel much better with a cleaner regular shave too. just makes me feel a lot tidier.
Do you think using something like the OneBlade is enough compared to a razor?
About how many days since wet shave in the video ? Looks proper good like this man !
I’ve the typical horseshoe reverse U going on..I buzz every 3 days but don’t like the clean line from ear to ear but I do like a contrast in color. I’m not sure I’m ready for a Dwayne Johnson yet.
I currently go for a 0.5 buzz. I have to do it at least once a week to keep it looking how I want. I have a similar pattern baldness to you, but lighter hair. Because of this, it's only if it grows out past a 1 or 1.5 guard length that the pattern is pronounced.
Daily to keep the seven o clock shadow from coming back it's a bad look
I like to shave as early as I can in the morning so that the irritation calms down before I go to bed and the pillow is more comfortable.
I pray for the day when this man learns how to pronounce the word bald correctly
I've got a whole heap of moles to remove before I'd be comfortable shaving my head. Hair is still covering them in the meantime
I just started shaving my head and would like to shave it everyday but as you said; I worry about irritation.
I have heard those razors are fantastic for head shaving. Good for you! finding good products that you like make it a much nicer experience.
@@Baldcafe pretty much the best cartridge razor across the board. My head shaves have been more efficient and faster (and cleaner) than most of the omnishaver videos I've seen
every 3 days with a double edge safety razor. Feels fantastic with Arko Turkish shaving soap
Your beard looked so much better like this
My baldness is similar to yours but I buzz cut once a week.
Ryan White totally agree man.
100%
Once a week - but a lazy shaver most of the time
Bald is beautiful. From a fellow bald guy
You look better with short beard
Thanks for the tips
Weekly. Saturday to Sunday's
What do you use for irritation? How about a shine also!
