- We tested the new Lenovo Ideapad V15 G2 ALC with 15.6 inch screen and latest Ryzen 5 5500U processor. It has impressive multi-core performance with 12 threads and a nice full hd display and keyboard.
It comes in Ryzen 5300u, 5500u, and 5700u processor variations.
This is superb - even though you're a smaller RUclipsr than the big guns - just the start alone where you hear the clicking of the keys is more relevant, than having to wait for those 2 seconds a top-reviewer gives you somewhere in their videos. Plus you can hear the computer fans, and see you typing later. Brilliant. Bravo!
I just got it from my college and it’s been alright so far. It won’t compare to the best gaming laptops but it can handle some titles

@@charliemallinson9199 at low 1080p yeah but this is mainly a business laptop so your eyes would be screaming using this tn 58.4% sRGB panel, i got it for college and so far everything is perfect except the screen, i guess its where they save cost its okay for daily use but for gaming its realy bad

@@lorencing It's a bad screen. It's usable after some calibration on the Windows side. It's pretty easy to do
The viewing angles are bad, the brightness is ok but when you raise it the blue glow goes up as well, so the visibility and contrast stay nearly the same.
Colors are off too. It's just a bad screen overall but I expected it.
I do coding and I watch videos here and there. For that purpose it's totally fine

Good evening, thank you for review. I'm looking laptop for my wife for working with Illustrator and Photoshop, also some Adobe software. So at the moment I'm consider this option: Lenovo V15 G2 ALC Black, 15.6" FHD, Ryzen 5 5500U, 256 GB SSD. I this this should be ok.

5500u has more than enough power for photoshop and il, it will run it smoothly and it can be easily upgraded

its okay for everyday use, it has comparable color accuracy with more expensive ips version, the only noticeable downside is limited viewing angle.. so if you want wider viewing angle go with ips screen...
Its important to know what the USB ports are, one of them is just 2.0

You have one slot for nvme and one slot for sata 2.5inch ssd drive

On this PC, it’s a NVME SSD. You can also add a SATA SSD in addition to the NVME.
The RAM is 1x 8gb.
Great video! I just got this laptop and now I'm wondering should I return it because the lack of backlid... The other one which I'm considering about is Acer aspire 5 a515-44. It has ryzen 5 4500u and 1tb ssd. But I just like the design and feeling of Lenovo so it's hard to choose between these. Both are 800 euros. Could you help me to make the decision? :D
Aspire 5 is higher tier in terms of design and more comparable with Lenovo ideapad 3 or 5 series, but in general specs even this ideapad v15 with ryzen 5500 easily wins here, it is simply faster in multitasking with 12 threads vs 4500u has only 6 threads.... and i like privacy shutter for webcam.
Woah thats alot I got mine (Lenovo V15 G2 5500u) for aprox. 575 euros with no OS and is doing well for the price. Try to look harder for a more fair price.

its okay i didn't feel any excessive heat while playing games. off course it can get warmer around esc to f5 area, but its not distractible . you can still tune up fan speed if u need lower temp

in terms of chassis design, hp looks more stylish, lenovo v15 is more robust and easier to upgrade.

yes it will work fine and if you want faster multitasking, you can upgrade ram memory to 12gb in the future.

I think you have one slot and you need to replace instesd of add a stick to get more.
What MHz has the buld in ram to mach the other slot.

DDR4 3200 mhz, there are also versions with 8gb soldered ram and one free ram slot

this ideapad v15 has USB-C 3.2 Gen1 for data transfer only... next step is ideapad 5 which has support for usb c charging

intel vs ryzen version, you can upgrade to max 16gb of ram

yes it has required processor and u can upgrade ram memory if necessary with bigger projects in the future

Yes, 5300u will ve good, but 5500u will be more future proof and u can upgrade ram later to 12 gb or up to 20gb

This one has only "dot" backlit power, caps lock and num buttons , check out ideapad 5

you can increase cpu power from 15w to 25w and that will improve performance. Adding 8gb ram if its 1x8 will improve performance too.

how is the fan noise?
its average, i didnt notice any unusually loud noises, offcourse when u play games it will eventually become noticeable, if you mute or lower sound volume

I bought this not knowing anything about gpus or cpus or any technical stuff. Really regret it. Should've gotten something better in terms of gaming ability
For this price, there is nothing better to game on, even amd Ryzen cpu notebooks have the same gpu perfomance, better to get a notebook with the new Intel iris xe because its similar or almost the same as the old king “MX 150” :)

@@TechWatcher in some other reviews the interior of this laptop was not the same, ie the battery down closed the whole space and there was no place for a disk

@@fasistakos η g2 έκδοση έχει χώρο και "οδηγό" για δεύτερο hard drive αλλά δεν έχει καλώδιο για sata και τροφοδοσία. Γιατί, δεν ξέρω. Το αγόρασα πριν δυο ημέρες και το άνοιξα να βάλω δεύτερη ram (ok εκεί) και δεύτερο δίσκο ( εκεί την πατήσαμε).

@@victorchet its very easy, if it is ips screen, colors will look same from all angles, tn screen will have dimmer dark grey areas and slightly brighter colors when moving the lid.

Yes, 8gb ram versions have 4gb soldered and you can replace 4gb ram stick with 16gb and have 20gb of ram

It basically has excellent processor for that, its not the award winner for look and style, but its robust and its built to get the job done for the reasonable price... Good alternative is also 4500u version. Price speed ratio

it depends there are v15 versions with 8gb soldered + one free slot and 4gb soldered + one free slot. so you either can upgrade to 16gb of ram or 12gb of ram.

Its a decent laptop but it can not really perform on the gaming side, games are kinda playable but not enjoyable i would rather use xbox series x over this laptop as its a better experience with fps and graphics now that says a lot imo

Yes u can upgrade it, up to 12gb or 24gb, depending how much soldiered ram it has (4/8gb)
