He kept in touch with his audience. I met Lemmy after a motorhead show in Australia in the early 80's, he was just sitting at the end of the bar with the rest of the band, it was a local pub, I just started chatting to him over a drink, I shouted him a drink and he started buying me drinks , "anything as long as it's Vodka and Orange", he said. We chatted for about an hour about shit mainly, I was never the fan boy type, and Lemmy appreciated that, What a great night....I'll never forget it....

No it hasn't, what a wildly stupid statement, and yes he is greatly missed, but it didn't make anyone rock any less, in fact I might be as bold to say it strengthened it's resolve...

@@rodturner6759 pure in then sense of untainted by external influence, not a stupid statement in the slightest. And it does in fact lower the standard when vanguard of anything , especially an art form pass away. Culture closes chapters and trends as icons fade by means of no new product. Example, in the absence of led zeppelin, we are marketed Greta van fleet as the new zeppelin, and I say, Nope. Not even close. Meaning in zeps absence culture chose imitation not innovation.
