If you coat a small cheap paintbrush with soap. Like wet the brush and rub the bristles on a bar of soap then you are able to use the frisket and it doesn’t damage your brush. *I’M LATE BUT I’M HERE* Oh my god I love how you actually take the time to clean out the pans, so many artists just leave it contaminated and it bugs the hell out of me.
Some artists leave their colors muddied because they are landscape painters or like using more natural looking colors rather than the bright color that comes straight from the pan. It's really just about color preference. It used to bother me too until I saw a video (can't remember the artist D:) where the guy explained why he leaves his pans muddy like this.
@@emobitch1027 Well that makes a lot of sense. It'll still bother me a bit because I prefer bright colors and muddy pans just remind me of highschool. For some reason, art teachers and students never cleaned their pans at my highschool and just tossed them into a corner hoping no one would find them. We always had to work with these muddy pans and that's why muddy pans make me somehow uncomfortable xD
@@boringhumanbeing3826 oh yeah I remember that at my highschool and middle school too. Shit made me so mad lol that's just laziness. I do understand the intentional muddiness to get more natural earthy looking colors though lol some artists just leave the palette "dirty" and mix with the colors already there to get the same natural/earthy effect.
That's already me. I take my own pens into my workplace and my colleagues find it very odd. I've been told "hay, you know we have pens here, you can use, right?" And I say "you don't understand, I'm drowning in pens! I need some way of using them up!" I still have too many. My plan is to get myself a nice set (that I probably won't take into work) once I've finally ran out of all of my lot :) It doesn't help that there is a brand I like, and since I'm an adult and I don't ask for much for my birthday, my parents will sometimes get me that brand of pen. It is generous, and I will use them. But, I guess it's because I'm OCD and I need to use the cheaper ones first so I can reward myself with the nice ones :)
I have a ton of cheap nail art tools (dotting tools with silicone nibs in various styles) that are bomb for liquid frisket. It peels right off of both sides and you can use the various sizes and styles for different lines/looks. The dotting tool side can be used for indenting paper for white areas to use with color pencil work too which is neat. Dip pens work real good too for thin lines. The dotting tools are super cheap and will save your brushes for other adventures.
I recently found your channel and very much appreciate the overview of your art supplies. I’ve been an oil painter for many years (water soluble oils - I hate turpentine) but have been experimenting with more watercolor/gouache lately, so it’s nice to get some opinions on supplies. I personally don’t understand the artists that say things like “using watercolor pencils is a crutch” or “you’re supposed to mask or leave white areas not add it back in” implying it’s a cheat or hack-y method. I even get it for using water soluble oils - like it’s not “real” oils (for the record, they are the same paint just thoroughly emulsified with water. You can even mix a portion of traditional oils into them without compromising the water solubility.) I think all methods of making art are valid and combining mediums is just one of many art making techniques. It’s bullshit to say there are “rules”. It’s just yet another form of gate keeping and I’m not a fan. I am a fan of your work though, Emily. You make beautiful work while being very entertaining at the same time. Love it.
love the new intro! I just got new winsor and newton watercolors! i really like them, they seem to act like my aquafine ones, you should look into the aquafine ones. they are a bit cheaper then the winsor netons but still on the more pricey side! you should try them out! another one you should look into is Koi, really good, super expensive though
Ha Ha koi’s are expensive now? Back when I bought I got them cause they where on the cheaper side 🙃🙃 I don’t use them anymore that much though but they’re cute to travel
LittleMissObsessive every where I check they are over forty dollars for a twelve pan and like ten dollars for a tube, that might have been where I checked but idk
Ha Ha WOW I got mine with 24 colors like 4/5 years ago at like $15-18 don’t remember if they where on sale at the time but I got them on amazon, maybe they raised the prices now 🧐

I have the 150 prosmacolor pencils, i know you don't work with colored pencils anymore, but if you can make a tips and tricks video on them, i'd love to see it. Most ones on youtube don't go into detail as much so.
• Bunniesty • the best way to work in pencil is from lightest colour to darkest colour. If you are doing portraits use purple for your shadow colours and always keep your pencils sharp if you are working with wax. A textured surface drawing paper will help you can spray the paper with workable fixative Any type of acid free paper will do I use scrapbooking paper personally I also work with water colour pencil crayons which I like very much I layer several colours one on top of the other then apply washes carefully. You can use any mixed media papers I have a piece of plastic that I keep behind the page and several layers of paper towel that will keep the water from soakings the sheets underneath caution do not mix wax and silicon (w c) pencil crayons when you spray them to add layers the spray will cause the colour of the W colour ones to spread
I ADORE my finetec, & really want to complete my collection. I have the big one & the gold/silver, but not the third one. I totally agree that the reason for the mixed reviews is just cuz people misunderstand the application/use. They're amazing!!
I've been waiting, I really want a white knights palette but I'm broke so pray for me ;--; also, I was wondering if you could do a video on skin tones and colours I know it takes time to upload and I appreciate that but great vid.
@@waysome_ I know what you mean! I'm trying to grow my Copic & my watercolor collection & it's very difficult & time consuming to add each little bit over time. I don't think I can request a big purchase again anytime soon, so I gotta save up for do it bit by bit. But it's fun to slowly but steadily see your collection grow, too. 🙂❤️
I love your art btw and you've inspired me to draw more honestly, on days when i don't feel any motivation to draw you make my day so much better and give me my motivation to draw.
Thank you so much for making this video! I mainly sketch and do digital painting, but I'm finally dipping my toes into watercolor. I love seeing what products other artists use, and what they highly recommend. Your works are very distinct and beautiful so I enjoyed seeing the rotation of products that you use to attain the gorgeousness
Watching you use a mechanical pencil reminds me of when I used to get in trouble in art class because my art teacher believed you couldn't make good art with a mechanical pencil... Never stopped me from using one though 😂
I have a few watercolors and I can not speak highly enough of DaVinci watercolor company! I have gotten back into watercolors after years working as a digital Artist doing graphic design on a MAC! I have better results with the Fintec paints by pre-wetting and allowing the paints to soak up water (I believe you know this) so they can be applied much thicker than regular watercolors. Oh and any watercolor paint can be tinted with a white gouache, DaVinci also has a Gouache line of paints! Can you tell I am a fan? Yeah a new convert is always this way! I have splurged on the Albrecht Durer pencils they are the best I have ever used I am a long time user of Koh-i-noor too! I have always use Arches paper but I have been using Stonehenge and Union Square Blocks lately. Have a lovely day and keep going as you are!
Just a small tip if your brushes are synthetic, you can "repair" them. Use really really hot water and reshape with conditioner. I do it with my face paint (ie water color on faces lol) brushes
Emily, A challenge for you. Try using soft makeup brushes to paint a watercolor. I'm very curious to know if they would work...but I don't do watercolor painting.
I didn’t have a blending brush when I was painting acrylics the other day so I tried using an old ELF powder brush and it worked amazing with very minimal fallout. Now I’m looking at all my old make up brushes I don’t use. 😂
The Artists Loft brush IS meant for acrylic. I was a dummy and bought 4 sizes for my watercolor thinking they'd be better than my value brushes... I mean... I make due with them. 🙃
I splurged and got the Finetec iridescent palette last year... It was was everything I had dreamed it would be for me. I use it over similar colors I put down first, and when the light hits the finished painting a certain way, it's magic. I love it!
Poor quality watercolors will almost always pull off the page once they've dried. The binder is not strong enough so the pigment can be rubbed off like chalk. Try gently rubbing your finger over a dried swatch and if you have a noticeable amount of pigment on your finger, it's probably poor quality. Other signs to look for are colors that dry chalky, colors that separate or become muddy when mixing. But going forward, just do some research and you should be safe. Generally, reviews are pretty reliable. Make sure the product in questions has at least 60-100 reviews, too! Hope that helps!
I've used budget sets & professional, if you're on a budget, you can always buy a number of 5mL tubes, & make them into your own pan set, or use with a pallette straight from the tubes. I've had a hard time finding a lot of brands sets, or singles even, a lot seem to not have a big variety available through the internet. I am realizing now, I should probably check out my local Blick or other art store, I just realized they probably have a much better selection than Amazon, Plus, I'd prefer to support Blick or a smaller business anyway. Amazon carn be convenient for some things, but I don't love their monopoly on everything in the world & causing small businesses to suffer. I think it depends on what traits you want your paints to have, like, granulation or not, single pigment or not, convenience colors or mix your own, your preferred pigment family, dispersement. I think most higher end brands 5mL tubes like Daniel Smith, Schminke, Holbein , etc, can range from $7-$14 depending on pigment type & color availabilities? I have a VERY hard time finding affordable Daniel Smith, like the Sleeping Beauty Turquoise, I've still not found anywhere affordable :( & others for example, so my D.Smith collection is quite small, I have the 6-tube Primatek set & 4 other tubes (Payne's Gray, Opera Pink, Lunar Blue, & Rose of Quinacridone I believe, the last two I only just ordered.) Sorry if that wasn't very helpful, it's definitely difficult to decide what paint to get when you decide to upgrade. I got a White Nights 36 color palette, it cost less than a lot of my other paint, but is still one of my favorites, ESPECIALLY when you factor in the price. I don't know why it's not MORE expensive. If you are very familiar with color theory & pigment types you can always mix your own stuff? Or just slowly gather a hoard, like I do to grow my Copics & my paint, grab one or two when able, & let your collection slowly build up. It's actually pretty satisfying to see it LOL I hope you have fun experimenting & find out which kinds work best for you! Best wishes in your art!
I really appreciate this. I am newly disabled and am using my now abundant free time to try my hand at something I always wanted to do but was shy to try, art. But being on disability I have limited funds and can't really afford to make many mistakes in my purchases. So thank you.
Helen Holt If you want to try watercolors I highly recommend the prang watercolors! They are very inexpensive (I believe $6) and are a great way to learn!!
One reason I love art is because there is no "right" or "wrong" way to do it. So I love vids like this because its so neat to see different artists' preferences and methods and processes. Very fun video
Hi! I'm chloe and I'm twelve. I have been doing art for a while now and have started to use watercolors but I have realised that crayolas watercolour isn't the best qaulity so thank you!
Hey ya, I just want to say thank you for helping me on my journey back into water colour and giving me the knowledge to not have it look like a 3year old painted it look, and for being yourself you have no idea how much you have helped me on my path to healing my soul and mind, I am truely great full to you!!!thank you so much!!!
For the liquid frisket, my teacher told us to deep the paint brush in dish soap first and clean the excess with our fingers, it's works AMAZINGLY and your paintbrush remains save and usable
I actually started using watercolors about half a year ago and I really wanted some good glitter watercolors, so I watched this video, did a little research on Fine Tec and how to get them, and I bought them. They were like VERY expensive (about 80 dollars), but oh my god, they are SO nice and pigmented, totally recommend them
I'm not entirely vast with my art supplies so this video originally wouldn't interest me if it weren't Emily's. Just her personality alone gets me watching!♡ (That and the impressive little details and edits. And her art, too~)
The Hot Press Ready Cut Strathmore paper is a great performer. Great price too!! It UN-buckles after a heavy wash better than Bee however, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, the Bee sketchbooks too for all the same reasons you mentioned. The only reason to love a binding is if you want to sketch across two pages for that dramatic effect.
Hi Emily! Thank you so much for this super helpful video! I’m always interested to know what supplies artists use in their work. It was really interesting watching you go through and talk about each piece. I’ve been interested in trying watercolor for a while, but I find it so intimidating. This video has really helped with my anxiety about trying it. Thank you again! ❤️
I friggin LOVE Bee Paper's watercolor books. I used one on a whim for all of my Inktober videos like two years ago and fell abbbbbbbbbsolutely in love with them. Their loose sheets are good, too, but I'm so into those books, mmm honey yasssssss.
Very COOL!!! Thank You for sharing as I am a beginner at watercolor painting. I am not the best or the worst but definitely, know more about Acrylic painting. I have always loved watercolor artistry but honestly, have been to Chicken to try it. Not anymore. I had to start somewhere with acrylics and I am willing to try watercolors now too.
I’m with you on the Prismacolor pencils. But wax based lay more opaquely than oil based. I think the Fabre Castells are a combo. It’s nice we have so many choices now.
I searched your channel for Inktense pencils because I wanted to know if you knew about them or used them and what you thought. I absolutely LOVE them. they are like watercolor pencils but are MUCH more intense in color saturation and they are permanent when they dry!
I use Arches watercolour paper. It is quite textured, and can handle a lot of water. It’s also 100% cotton. I recommend it. I got 12 sheets for about 20 dollars. It can be pricey, but it is worth it.
I looked this up because dickblick had a massive sale, but I would really love if you did an update. After 3 years, I'm sure you have new things in your wheelhouse
The Fine Tec watercolors are incredible on black paper, I have the same sets, and even the irredescent colors come out completely different on black paper, try it out!
Someone on RUclips recommended using a rubber sculpting tool for the masking fluid and it changed everything for me 😂 cause there’s one that’s like brush shaped and the latex just peels off when dry, no more ruining brushes 😬
For the record, the Pilot color eno lead refill I buy is like a dollar per 6 pieces of lead. Since I don't use it all the time it lasts me sometime before have to buy more.
I have several of the FW Acrylic inks, they're pretty good. Though you should always shake the inks before use because the pigment can settle at the bottom. It's especially noticeable with the metallic inks.
The bee zooming across the screen faster and faster had me chortling. Love that little detail, and love your videos too! They have me wanting to take up drawing/painting again, so I might just do that!
I've said this before I've realised collecting art supplies and using them is two different hobbies. With me anyway. I've got most of these and loads more I prefer carandache luminance coloured pencils but use i prismacolor and Faber castell. I use Faber castell water colour pencils as well I don't like inktense watercolour pencils. I'm going to try the brushes that was useful to me thanks. Just started watching and I like your channel.
I love love love Albrecht Durer watercolor pencils from Faber Castel - the lead is sooo soft and buttery. I also get single pans and sets of the finetec mica watercolors from jetPens.
In Germany hexagonal pencils are the norm in grade and high school. So everyone is used to them. I had no trouble using the Albrecht Dürer watercolor pencils.
It's so funny how you find ridged watercolour pencils strange but I'm the opposite, but then I've used Derwent all my life so, yeah, perhaps it's just what we know? This is a great overview of the tools of a watercolourist!
Thank you Emily Artful!! As i was just beginning to paint with watercolor, ( i already painted and colored with acryl) And i had not much but good materials to work with! (Caran d'ache, faber castell, Koh I Noor, talens (i am Dutch) and i had a windsor & Newton cotman watercolorset, with Canson paper or just cheap paper. But i had a very very bizarre sick ex which had burnt my house down) that 8 yrs ago and i have to start buy everything all over again which is almost impossible bc i also became very sick the last years which will not going away anymore so i have no job)! I also crochet, i am buying every month something (when i have some money left) and i have used and still using some stuff which is really cheap but absolutely not having a poor quality. Stuff from the Action, Xenos, (not even special art stores but they sell some very good quality materials like the micron pens (they're from talens) Ecoline pens Inkt also royal Talens sold by xenos. Action does have everything from clothing to hobby items, i bought all my crochet hooks and i also bought the acryll paint and the color pencils are amazingly good just 3 euro. But the watercolor and watercolor paper or sketchbooks are really from a poor conditions. they don't even have a relief like lets say strathmore or canson has but they look like if they are made for creating a Card. it has little squares in it! bizarre. so i bought canson watercolour paper again and i have a windsor and newton set again, but no good brushes. That is really making me sad that i had already a lot and then something or someone is taking that away from you. i did had a insurance ofcourse but if you have to buy everything new from towel to furniture and so on there is no space left for the hobby's you had before the fire! And the Netherlands are very high with the tax on everything 21 % on non food items and even 9 % on food + the price of normal daily healthy food is so pricey that it is almost impossible to have a hobby. there are a lot of garage sale like stores or fb sites but if you got caught and you have less money bc you are getting a tiny little bit money from the goverment you have to explain if you got money where is it coming from, I have a little medical help income from the goverment, the rest i payed for when i had my fulltime job a nurse specialized with alzheimer and related sickness) A very big part i taken from your income is kept in for if you reach your 68 th birthday when you are aloud to stop working you get a income everyone a base income very low, lesser than 600 euro and 2 liter milk is 2 euro and fresh fruit or vegetables are more expensive than chips or candy and cakes for if you not have worked or if u had a simple job with not much money a hour. that is why you see so many old people looking into garbage and are really poor! I have worked from my 18th till 7 yrs ago i am 51 now, i do have a bit more bc i am not in social wellfare or in germany they call it harz 4 , i can't work anymore just creating art or crochet things! The Netherlands are so unfair for people who are ill or are born with a disabilety and old people (a specially older women) because when you were getting married or got pregnant in de late 60 ties until end 70-ties you were not aloud to keep your job anymore ! My mum had to stop when i was born and married my dad. Why i am writing all this is that it is that everybody thinks that europe is rich. and can buy everything! And i wanted to thank you how you explainwere you work with and giving also cheap or student quality not right away no chance! I see so many very good artists her on YT but when they have to paint with cheap materials they are acting like (that is how i feel about it) may'be it's not even doing that to hurt people . but i feel sometimes like a moron that i have bought something cheap and they say bleee that stuff is shit and it doesn't do what it has to do. Yes those articles are in there too but If you have had a lot of quality paint, brushes pencils or whatever what and your house burns down or blows away, believe me if you are ready building up everything again and finding yourself into a new house but without enough money but with the same passion and idea's a before the disaster happend, you are glad that you can buy at least a cheap article what works than have to wait and wait until you have money enough to buy 1 brush for example! I had all those art stuf build up also for years, i started painting/drawing an crocheting and combine it sometimes at 12! I got it from family, birthday presents, christmas . and when you find a cheap article which is good for you i swear you are really happy that u can do something again! And a specially what you said in this video about the brushes that is so absolutely true. paper and brushes paint and erazers are the most i'm (sorry for my grammatical mistakes i also have that in my own language Dutch) important ! Better a bad pencil than a set of brushes which s**ks! or watercolor paper what is not doing what it has to do. that is frustating ! And there are some new things became populair in the years i wasn't doing not much art anymore, even watching it made me cry! i only had a cheap sketchbook and colorpencils and a hb and a 2b and a sharpener, hobbyknife and an erazer. Thank you for showing me the new watercolors (those shiny pearl like ones) ( love them!! I hope you will go on with making video's like this, and i would say to everybody who is talking bad about brands only because they are from cheap or unknown brands if you don't like the quality please give it to someone who loves art and can't pay it anymore or they do it no more because of a disaster or fire, tornado or whatever. Just at such moments you can draw the things you've seen or what is bothering you.

Could you do a new watercolor art supplies? I’d really love to see your new collection!
Yes, I'd like that, too.
I ADORE my finetec, & really want to complete my collection. I have the big one & the gold/silver, but not the third one.
I totally agree that the reason for the mixed reviews is just cuz people misunderstand the application/use. They're amazing!!
I've been waiting,
I really want a white knights palette but I'm broke so pray for me ;--;
also, I was wondering if you could do a video on skin tones and colours I know it takes time to upload and I appreciate that but great vid.
Fellow Ugly Sewer Rat 🙏🏽 I know watercolors can be so expensive! I am trying to grow my Copic collection at the moment and they are so expensive too!
Skin tones would be a good one
@@waysome_
I know what you mean!
shannon bryant I agree! I got two new copics today and it is so fun to see the collection grow one marker at a time
Yess!!!! I suck at making skin colors for watercolors and shading with them lol
I love your art btw and you've inspired me to draw more honestly, on days when i don't feel any motivation to draw you make my day so much better and give me my motivation to draw.
Y’all I just finished my first watercolor portrait and I’m in such a painting mood now from this video; time to go paint my whole roommm
love the new intro! "dont touch me b*tch I got a bread bowl" had that song stuck in my head for like a week. also very helpful video.
I love the 87 bees animated across the screen when mentioning the paper. Just a cute editing touch that I found hilarious. XD Love you, Emily!
Have a lovely day and keep going as you are!
id love to see an updated version of this
Just a small tip if your brushes are synthetic, you can "repair" them. Use really really hot water and reshape with conditioner. I do it with my face paint (ie water color on faces lol) brushes
Emily,
A challenge for you. Try using soft makeup brushes to paint a watercolor. I'm very curious to know if they would work...but I don't do watercolor painting.
Not a bad idea, get the makeup brushes at the Dollartree, everything's a $1!
I love it!
loving how you talk about your brushes like Oli vander about his wands ✨
I'm 61 and have used Prismacolor since high school. I have Caran D'ache, polychromos and others but I love my Prismacolor.
Maybe try a pencil grip thing for the Derwent watercolor pencils? I have problems with the ridges too and sometimes that helps.
How can you tell if the watercolor you're using isn't well made, I've only owned two budget sets before and don't know what more expensive set to get?
Poor quality watercolors will almost always pull off the page once they've dried. The binder is not strong enough so the pigment can be rubbed off like chalk. Try gently rubbing your finger over a dried swatch and if you have a noticeable amount of pigment on your finger, it's probably poor quality. Other signs to look for are colors that dry chalky, colors that separate or become muddy when mixing. But going forward, just do some research and you should be safe. Generally, reviews are pretty reliable. Make sure the product in questions has at least 60-100 reviews, too! Hope that helps!
@@emilyartful Ditto!!
I have a VERY hard time finding affordable Daniel Smith, like the Sleeping Beauty Turquoise, I've still not found anywhere affordable :( & others for example, so my D.Smith collection is quite small, I have the 6-tube Primatek set & 4 other tubes (Payne's Gray, Opera Pink, Lunar Blue, & Rose of Quinacridone I believe, the last two I only just ordered.)
Sorry if that wasn't very helpful, it's definitely difficult to decide what paint to get when you decide to upgrade.
It's actually pretty satisfying to see it LOL
I hope you have fun experimenting & find out which kinds work best for you! Best wishes in your art!
@@emilyartful i actually use like a paper towel to see it better.
Thank you so much u have literally taught me everything I know about art
I really appreciate this. I am newly disabled and am using my now abundant free time to try my hand at something I always wanted to do but was shy to try, art. But being on disability I have limited funds and can't really afford to make many mistakes in my purchases. So thank you.
Helen Holt If you want to try watercolors I highly recommend the prang watercolors! They are very inexpensive (I believe $6) and are a great way to learn!!
@@emilyartful Thanks! I will definitely try them.
@@emilyartful is there any chance you meant Prang and it auto corrected to orange?
Helen Holt Fuck my life, yes, that is exactly what I meant 😂
One reason I love art is because there is no "right" or "wrong" way to do it. So I love vids like this because its so neat to see different artists' preferences and methods and processes. Very fun video
Hi! I'm chloe and I'm twelve. I have been doing art for a while now and have started to use watercolors but I have realised that crayolas watercolour isn't the best qaulity so thank you!
I am in awe at the genius of the velcro color chart
Hey ya, I just want to say thank you for helping me on my journey back into water colour and giving me the knowledge to not have it look like a 3year old painted it look, and for being yourself you have no idea how much you have helped me on my path to healing my soul and mind, I am truely great full to you!!!thank you so much!!!
That is truly such a beautiful compliment!!
@@larakeller2478 it's meant from the bottom of my heart also, thank you again! I hope u have many wonderful and joy filled moments the rest of time
For the liquid frisket, my teacher told us to deep the paint brush in dish soap first and clean the excess with our fingers, it's works AMAZINGLY and your paintbrush remains save and usable
I actually started using watercolors about half a year ago and I really wanted some good glitter watercolors, so I watched this video, did a little research on Fine Tec and how to get them, and I bought them. They were like VERY expensive (about 80 dollars), but oh my god, they are SO nice and pigmented, totally recommend them
I adore Regina's watercolors, ordered them after watching you paint with them. No regrets! Super lovely and transparent colors!
FullSwing9 Aren’t they everything? So glad you ordered! She’s amazing!
Thanks! I came for your brush selection and it was very helpful. You talk very well with your hands.
Awesome video! I just got a cheap paint set and I'm trying to learn.
I love your art. You have helped me through so much and I love you.
The little bee flying across the screen is so cute
I friggin LOVE Bee Paper's watercolor books. I used one on a whim for all of my Inktober videos like two years ago and fell abbbbbbbbbsolutely in love with them. Their loose sheets are good, too, but I'm so into those books, mmm honey yasssssss.
Just ordered the Regina's half pan paints!! If you buy the pans without the case they are very affordable paints!! So excited.
Watercolor is the best:)
Thank you so much for the Magic Eraser idea for cleaning stained palettes! Awesome!
I love the little bee that flies across the screen, it’s a nice edit in the video!❤️🐝
The new intro is so cute oml 💖💖
The Fine Tec watercolors are incredible on black paper, I have the same sets, and even the irredescent colors come out completely different on black paper, try it out!
These kind of videos are always nice to get more suggestions overall on art supplies. Ty
Someone on RUclips recommended using a rubber sculpting tool for the masking fluid and it changed everything for me 😂 cause there’s one that’s like brush shaped and the latex just peels off when dry, no more ruining brushes 😬
I have those but they're surprisingly expensive! I use them for clay/charm making.
Emily Artful I got some cheap ones on AliExpress and that’s what I use, they don’t seem to be damaged.. yet, I also use them for sculpting
Just started the video can’t wait to watch it 😊
Lysm Emily
Holy crap! Swatch chart laminated and velcro'd onto the underside of the tin. So smart. Mind blown.
For the record, the Pilot color eno lead refill I buy is like a dollar per 6 pieces of lead. Since I don't use it all the time it lasts me sometime before have to buy more.
me i use CANSON papers for watercolor because its cheap what do you say about them?
It's rlly sad that artist have to say their not bragging when doing this type of videos :(
Ditto on the Bee Paper. I wish they'd come back. They're my go to, absolutely, for watercolour paper sketchbooks. I'm down to like... 2 left?
I have several of the FW Acrylic inks, they're pretty good. Though you should always shake the inks before use because the pigment can settle at the bottom. It's especially noticeable with the metallic inks.
Your hands are ALWAYS so moisturized in your videos
I really appreciate the color cordation of ur color pencils ive always been really obsessed about that for some reason
Some of the metallic colors look great on black watercolor paper
In Germany hexagonal pencils are the norm in grade and high school. So everyone is used to them. I had no trouble using the Albrecht Dürer watercolor pencils.
240+ likes, 0 dislikes. As all things should be.
Reagan Bull the 92 dislikes are all the crayola company saying “buy our crappy water color”
The into is everything 🤯🤯
It's so funny how you find ridged watercolour pencils strange but I'm the opposite, but then I've used Derwent all my life so, yeah, perhaps it's just what we know?
This is a great overview of the tools of a watercolourist!
I love the little doodly animation details. It's really cute! ❤️
Thank you so much for making your videos. Finding your channel changed my life.
I love watching your videos, thank you for sharing your art supplies collection.
Happy you made an update to your old art supplies I use video :3
I am currently using a Bee creative mixed media sketchbook and I am in love like 100%. Can’t wait for the review.
I’ve probably watched this video 2-6 times this year - this is a great video
I’m watercolor rn and last week I got the watercolors they are the Windsor and Newton travel small pack thing. Right now they are half off on amazon :)

Took a break from organizing the new craft room to watch. 🤗
Bee paper also does really good marker paper! If you use copics or anything like that, I can't recommend it enough
You pay 15 dollars for the colord led? Where I live it's only 2.50 I was so surprised. In my opinion it's good but not 15 dollars good!
SAUCE $15 for a set of all of them. I should’ve clarified, my bad! I did find a whole package of the lead and the pencils for $25

a lot of pencils and inks some obtained locally while the more interesting ones came from Goulet Pens...* *right now i'm having more fun gathering the more unique customized bits an pieces to make my own kit truly reflect my personality....lots of neat handmade tools found on esty and i'm buying a lot of animal themed rings on wish to add to the larger paint brushes to make them more fun to use and film whilst in use...this is also where i found a handheld wireless airbrush assembly that is so cool and makes my geeky/artsy heart very happy*
