Thanks for the retro DVD drive addition Matt, put a smile on my face. I remember the days. The rain added a nice touch to the production also. Looking forward to the next one.
The DVD drive will forever be a throwback to not forget 😁 Thanks so much for the kind words, and of course the coffees which I’ve just been notified about. Really appreciate your support Hollis! 😊☕️☕️☕️
Exactly this. Fractal never disappoint in that regard! Always well thought out cases with multiple users in mind for the most part. Absolutely love this build for what it’s worth 😊🖤

Always good to secure a solid second career option in the event the PC gaming tech industry fails. I’ll be your weatherman, except with cinematics and no green screen animations 😅🌧️☀️
Amazing vid as always thanks Matt. You never fail to impress with not only the design choices you make with the builds, but the actual video quality itself is always stella!
Yep, I built a PC with this exact case last month and had to route my PCIe cables over the top as well. I've thought about punching out the hardrive cage support on the bottom and routing the cables down that way so it would look cleaner or use some 180 deg adapters so it looks smoother over the top. My build is using a AK400 Zero Dark dual fan, 7600X, and 6800XT. Everything is blacked out except the cable extension are black and grey to add a litte something to the case. It looks great otherwise.
@@GiacomBono As long the GPU length is under 15.9" / 405 mm. My card is 340 mm/13.4" and it barely fits. With that, I think the max messured length is with the bottom fan taken out as my card is about 1.25" / 32 mm away from the fan. It was a super tight fit into the case and wouldn't reccomend any larger. I bet the 6950 reference card would fit.
A masterpiece of music and video editing. Not to mention the skill when it comes to pc building. I think nobody can see all the work that went into that video, not even me with a background in edition and music production. Keep it going!
Great Idea Matt :-) Sheesh! The memoirs start rolling in... I remember the days when it was strange to see a rig (without) a dvd/disk drive! Haha. The good ol days, life was much easier back then. Muchly enjoyed! as always my friend. Stay safe and well, Cheers - Jass & Jacqui E.
I really want a matx / itx pc build that has support for dvd-rom drive as I want to play PS2 and PS1 discs, ive been looking for ages. Thank you for your video!
Got a PC build which I'm using the Cooler Master Silencio S400. Love that it has a DVD Drive Bay! Can't live without it being that 90% of my game library is on CDs and DVDs haha. Great video as always!
My daughter has the same case and I never thought about adding in a DVD drive for it for her. It could be useful whenever the internet drops since my wife has a catalog of classic DVDs everywhere.
Spectacular build! Almost no RGB at all and it looks so clean! I'm convinced to get the pop air mini now :D, its abit smaller than M-ATX and bigger than MINI ITX which what i was looking for. Not too big yet not too small!
I love that you showcased the optical drive. personally I would've added blu ray 4K UHD instead dude, have a bit of a modern touch while still also supporting DVDs/CDs
The build is so clean brings a tear to my eye. My last gaming rig that I just upgraded to AM5 from had a Blu ray burner that must have died 7 or 8 years ago. I sure wish I had one in my new PC tucked away for a rainy day. Great video!
As you know, from past comments, I love blackout builds. I also love mATX but they weren't very popular or abundant lately. To have 2 things I love plus a DVD rom, awesome!
Finding a good matx case with decent airflow and GPU clearance is rare. It's a bit more expensive where i live and just a couple of small retailers have it in stock, but i like it!
@@IskanderVFX the h7 flow? Yes it also looks good. The only issue I have with that there is a lot of empty space, in h9 flow there are fans there so it looks a bit full.
I don't understand why micro atx is so hard to find good motherboards and cases nowadays. The options are quite limited. But considering that ITX is too small and hard to build in for most people, and ATX is pretty large for putting on desks, plus having expansions slots that people using the PC for strictly gaming will never use, I would assume matx would be the sweet spot for the average person. I love the form factor. Never built any of my PCs not using it. But I had to go out of my way to find a really nice matx case. I ended up going with the Corsair 280x, which I love so much. But finding motherboards for the current 5900x I am using was also a challenge. There is only a handful over boards. Ryzen 7000 seems to be the same. I really hope people hop back on the matx train again in the future, so we could have some good options again for builds. This Pop mini Air was very close to becoming the case I built in, but I liked the way the Corsair looked over it. But my brother is wanting a build pretty soon and I think I am gonna be using it for his. Awesome video btw. Your cinematography is always top notch dude. And the airflow visualization is one of the best things I have seen any tech youtuber do for PC builds. Such a simple, yet amazing idea since airflow is one of the biggest reasons people get certain cases over others. You definitely got a sub from me!
I was considering the Fractal Pop Air Mini specifically because of the fact that it has the 5.25 inch bays. Ultimately, I decided to go with the Phanteks Enthoo Pro (better build quality and more room for future upgrades), but I'm glad that there are modern cases being made that accommodate those who still prefer physical media.
Suggestion : If possible, you guys can put benchmarks at the end for few games which are mostly played by people like Warzone 2, Fortnite, Apex Legends, etc.
craziness! I'm planning almost exactly the same system at the moment... (without the DVD-Drive.) Cool to see it finished beforehand. How do you do the airflow visualization exactly? That would be interesting...
Love the build, despite the fact many believe discs are dead, there are still a number of movies out there that look better on BLU-RAY than streaming, or people would prefer to RIP the movie themselves to a media server! Bravo! QUESTION: How quiet was this PC? Under load, browsing, etc.
Nice case and great video! Some cons tho.. the wall tickness is a bit on the thin side and the top cover/filter is just mesh with some magnets...could be better for 100ish bucks.
For pleople who likes to buy physical disc (games) this is a Must. Is Sad that must of companies don't offer that option. Good setup and clean as always 👌
What anti sag holder did you use in this build, I’m buying the same case and am worried about sagging but I know since the case is compact that I need to choose one that will actually fit, thank you and have a lovely day
Mr. Lee always does a fantastic job when it comes to color matching. However, the Jonsbo D31 is still my personal favorite when it comes to MATX cases.
Great looking build and great editing! The only disadvantage of this build is that the GPU is too close to the bottom of the case, living very little space for the airflow and the airflow visualization confirms that the GPU is not getting air. That's why when assembling a PC in a MATX case, it's always better to choose the motherboard with the most upper PCIe x16 slot and ideally to choose the 2 slot GPU as well to gain as much space as possible between the GPU and the bottom of the case.
This was my mistake I went for the asus tuf b650m and the pcie slot is in such position that I skip the first slot, just like in this build. Others I've seen on youtube take advantage of the upper slot.
@@xsatn2082 What GPU temps do you have while gaming? Does your case have mesh front panel? If not, it would be better to remove the side panel at least while gaming to avoid overheating the gpu
