"Animals" is my favourite of Pink Floyd's albums. Most humans really can be divided into pigs, dogs and sheep...though that is an insult to real pigs, dogs and sheep.
They say that Richard Wright had no writing credits on this album. I say BS. You can’t tell me that Waters wrote all the keyboard parts himself. We all know that Wright was truly a talented musical genius.
If I could go back in time and attend any Pink Floyd concert in the entire history of the band, this is the show I'd choose. Amazing setlist, incredible performance, and the last time they ever played CWTAE. Pure bliss.
Well where is it?? If Pink Floyd are in possession of quality recordings of the '77 tour it is a crime not to release them! These are the best quality bootlegs I've been able to find.
This is my favorite song from my favorite PF album. So edgy and raw. A powerful rendition of a fantastic song. Many fans point to DSOTM or WYWH as their favorite but, for me Animals will always be top of the heap. Thanks for posting this!

Thank you so f'ing much for uploading this. Thought I heard the best versions possible of this tour, I was wrong. I was always a huge fan of this album, but when I heard the live bootlegs it instantly became my all time favorite. The live version of Pigs just utterly destroys the studio version. Really a shame they didn't record video/audio of these shows because I really think it's the best shows and setlist they ever put out.
Totally agree man live versions of this epic classic are better than the great album version..man they need to release pro sb recordings of this..its like unbeatable.
Wow this live version has the only thing that lacked from the original version: more input from Wright. His duets with Gilmour are always of great quality.
John Blond their shine on you crazy diamond performances from this time still had rick at his best and you could even hear him singing some courses. Unfortunately at this time wright penned songs such as time and stay were not very popular so don't expect any of that from 77. The recording from July 6 1977 has some nice rick recordings on crazy diamond if you want that.
Adam Berry Yes Adam but interestingly Gilmour played bass AND guitar on the album version. Roger likes to take authorial credit but Gilmour and Wright made contributions warranting this credit. This band was best when it collaborated - Gilmour going out to discos in London, which he hated, to play what he did on “Another Brick in the Wall” while Roger acknowledged without Gilmour’s collaboration it never would have happened, he takes all the writing credit. SMH.

Nice live recording for sure but I think Montreal was the best one, the atmosphere, sound it felt right even without the fan incident which worked seamlessly into the song, great vocals and yells from Roger and David and Rick in top form and Nick keeping it all together, pure musical bliss.

5/9/77 was a great show, but this is definitely not soundboard- plenty of audience sounds. Read somewhere that supposedly the band does have soundboards of the '77 tour, but I've never seen one surface.

Snowy soloed on Pigs On the Wing 2, harmony lead on Dogs, lead on Have a Cigar, solo into Shine On Part 7, traded leads with David on Part 8 to SOYCD and harmony lead with David on SOYCD Part 9.

I think it might just be added reverb in the post production.
