OMG I just realized the shot where Megatron is holding Hot Rod at 2:21 is the scene where Hot Rod interferes with Optimus Prime's fight with Megatron and Optimus ends up getting killed...

That name was one more "inside joke." "Alan Smithee" has directed several films from 1968 to 2000, but he does not and never existed. It was a 'placeholder' name for a director who did not want his name on the film. There was a mocumentary about the practice done in 1997, "An Alan Smithee Film: Burn, Holywood, Burn," but the director hated the final cut so much the film got Alan Smithee'd itself, which was such high levels of irony that the name was officially retired three years later.

My favorite Alan Smithee movie is the TV version of DUNE ... although I can understand why Lynch didnt want to be associated with it, but then they didnt have the options from today and had to re-use several clips within the movie because there were no others.
OMG! This is amazing. So many references, Amish Paradise, First Wolrd Problems, Foil, Jurassic Park, Word Crimes, Living with a Hernia, Like a Surgeon, I Lost on Jeopardy, etc... I was all the clip thinking: "Someone has to send this to Yankovic". And then... That final. Blowed my mind! Hahaha, I love you guys, thanks to make me smile!

Im sitting here listening to this gem while scrolling through the comments getting choked up for some reason and I see im not the only one emotional about this song. Its always been one of my favorite weird al songs from one of my favorite movies of my childhood

I'm just going to say what we're all thinking. Whoever the girl that plays Arcee is just incredible. She's obviously fit under that costume, she plays the keyboard, she's an excellent singer, and even if for some reason she doesn't actually love Transformers, she's cool enough to dress up like one and perform in a band and play a bunch of "geek" music. Honestly I don't care what she looks like under that mask, in my opinion she's pretty much the perfect woman.
As someone who grew up in the 80s and 90s, this is the perfect mix of Transformers soundtrack and weird Al, my 9 year old self is freaking out. You guys are the best!!!

I was born in 1969, and my first exposure to Weird Al was my dad's single of Another One Rides The Bus. Loved him since then. Love The Cybertronic Spree more recently!

This is my favourite Weird Allan song of all time. So much so that when it came on in Transformers : The Movie, I LOST MY FUDGE COMPLETELY. Marked so hard I left scorch Mark's on the ceiling of the theatre. To this day, 40 years later, the sound of that opening riff fills me with insane glee. OK I can hear you now!!!
