    This is a really nice Telecaster! I can honestly say that it appeals to me more than the Stratocaster from the other day. I have always been a big Stratocaster user but the last five or six year's I have taken a huge liking to Telecasters. This one would be a welcome addition to almost any collection.

  • @danmc_2783
    @danmc_2783 Год назад +3

    For a carved top Tele, you should try and get a Telecaster Custom FMT HH. Try to get a late '04-'05 model when they were still made in Korea but have the Seymour Duncan Pickups in them. It's more of a carved top SG than an LP as they have the slim body but I'll guarantee you, they are the most troublesome of troublemakers lol. There are some USA made and Custom Shop Teles made to the same specs out there as well so if you want to go high end then maybe find one of those instead. Absolutely awesome guitars, real rock beasts

    • @johnconstantinides
      @johnconstantinides 5 месяцев назад

      There's also a Special Edition Tele Custom HH with factory-installed EMG humbuckers. This stealthy Flat Black active beast is generally made for heavy bone-crunching distortion but does nice twangy cleans when you roll down the volume.

    Kinda reminds me of the minimalist no-pickguard Tele's from the 1980's. Really love the 6120 orange finish, but not sure if the filter tron pick ups give the true Telecaster sound. A gorgeous guitar, to be sure, in this Fender Bender's opinion! 😄😀👍🏻🎶

    They call that a CUP JACK, not a barrel style. A barrel style jack is the long threaded cylinder jack with the nut that threads onto the end. Now that we got that cleared up lol I like the strat better, the neck's way to fat on this thing for me. I'm surprised they're not the same.

    Austin -You seem to be reviewing a lot of these Fender strats and teles with the TV Jones pick-ups lately. I wonder how they stack up against the seemingly identical Chinese made Xaviere XV-PRO 842 Thinline Tele style or XV-PRO 872 ST Alder Body with vintage trem available from Guitar Fetish? Both these Xavier guitars use GFS's GF'Tron pickups and the XV-PRO 872 have vintage strat-style trems. Both cost $249.00 without a case, shipping or handling but they might be a more affordable alternatives to these Fenders. At least, until Fender can start cranking out Squire versions...
    A lot of us dream of Fenders and Gibsons but only have the means to settle for Xaviere, Squire, Epiphone and Glarrey. Give us a break!

Maybe a honey or butterscotch color Stain on the fretboard would have looked even better. 🤷‍♀

I love guitars that embody the paradigm of these models. Consequently the large divergences from the paradigm in these two you reviewed are a turn off for me. I do agree the wood grain and figuring on the neck/headstock of this tele is great. I have a cheapo Mexican strat with great grain on the fretboard-- no figuring though.
