@@MrTylero28 Luigi has a very in depth and solid BOM on his website. IF you are kind of a n00b at this then I would recommend just ordering the BOM as he presents it. This will ensure a full functioning amp with little trouble shooting if you run into issues on 1st fire up. Also make sure you follow the build doc updates and notes. SOME of the components are required to be changed from the stock BOM depending on your power transformer and the bias tap . just take your time, go slow, and double and triple check every component as you put it on the PCB and wire it up. BOTH of my amps worked perfect with only some mild trouble shooting with Lou for the switching matrix.
I spoke with Lu. I have a late 70s acoustic corp GT60. If I can get the board to fit I’m going to convert it with this kit. He says it can be used on other amps provided the board fits. Can’t wait.
I’ve had my eye on this board for a while. If I come across a dead and scavenged Hot Rod, I’ll probably build one. Although I’m NOT using the stock iron. Your example seems to sound decent although I’m sure it’s better when not listened to through RUclips.
@@RandyRugarMusic I would encourage you to try and finds a good tech in your neck of the woods man! see what they would charge and if they would be into doing it for you! As a tech and builder of my own amps I Like being able to offer more affordable(not cheap) alternatives to people that can't swing for one of my amps.
.I've built an jtm45...and have modified a couple of amps.... Got a bust board in a hrd.....just ordered the kit, and was wonder about the three brown wires...the wire that go to P15, P16,P17 ....which of these is the center tap and is left out?... thanks
Grab the devill schematic online and reference that, my personal HRD that i have converted had the same setup as you. There should be two brown and an brown/yellow (if I remember correctly) the brown/yellow is the CT.
@@Curranproducer Used deville, $500, mod $600 Honestly, $1100 is a really sweet price for an amp like this. That’s less than the cost of a new Bassman if you play your cards right.
@@manifestgtr I have been lucky in finding used devilles and hot rods for between 300-400! ebay is a good source also facebook market place! The personal one I built for my recording studio I got for 300.00, sold the stock speaker and the PCB board(which was in new mint condition) and only ended up about $50.00 into the HDR! made things a super clean deal for me!!
Did you get the parts list from the website? There should be a link that takes you to a Mouser cart. Then you can click on the order cart button and you should be all good!
So if you down load the Rev C spreadsheet BOM you can use Mouser's BOM import tool to upload all the part numbers and correct quantities for the complete built. If anything DOESN'T load up properly you can use "copy/paste" for the part numbers into the Mouser search field and add those parts to your cart!
@@clintbryant9257 Hi Clint, I just tried to do the BOM import to share a cart with you, BUT the import is NOT getting me the right stuff. SO, if you copy/paste the parts in the mouser search windows you will get the parts added to your cart in the quantity you put in for the build. This is slower and a pain BUT you can get it done that way. ALL the pots and tube sockets and guitar amp replated stuff you can get from mojotone, or tubedepot. just take your time and make sure you get the proper value components and quantity. it is VERY confusing and slow when you 1st start using the mouser site!!! good luck!!!
It varies depending on component choices. Orange drop caps, sozo caps(blue or muatard) carbon comp resistors or.metal film. They all contribute and change the cost. You can email me at customaudiomutation@gmail.com. and I cam give some price breakdowns if you want
Its ok man no worries!! Make sure you check all the updates for the buildnon Luigi site. The channel switching matrix has had a few mods from Luigi while I was building the three I did. Dont be afraid to email Luigi OR post questions here as well. And check my Facebook for a build document picture album of these 1st one I built
Really like your recording sound, compared to other Luigi Retro builds here on RUclips.
I’ve got one of these pcbs I’m just starting right now. Luigi is a fantastic guy to deal with
I have done two of these now! they are a phenomenal way to take a Junker and make a monster!!!! and Louigi IS a great guy!!!
Any input on what I should look into? Suggestions for which caps and resistors? Etc?!

I got two boards yesterday but no documentation, no parts list, no schematic. All of the documentation should come with the boards, shouldn't it?
@@IPAMark you need to go to Luigi retro for the bom and schematic etc

Thanks for the review. Any issues or second thoughts with soldering the leads directly to the board vs using the screw terminals as Luigi specifies?

Is the pcb a good quality? Thick traces? I usually prefer turret board construction. But i do find this interesting 😊
Wow awesome!! I gotta get this down to mine
It is awesome!!! Don't be afraid!! Make that HDR awesome!!!
How much did this particular conversion cost? Got a gen 1 HRD. I was going to hot rod the hell out of it, but maybe I will go this route now.
Damn. I want to do this to mine.. I have this exact amp. It's ok with an ep boost but that thing sounds killer!!
If you are ohio local this is something I can help you with for sure! I ha e done two of these conversions so far and they have all come out awesome!

Love that Red-White-Blue wiring! Can I ask what brand and size wire you used??
here is the link www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01016NMES/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Did the pcb drop right into the chassis or did you need to modify mounting points?
drops right in, the mounting holes are designed for the chassis!
🇮🇹 Italian flag wiring! cool
Got the amp built, waiting for mouser to send the op amp...want be here till March. Can this part be substituted? Lt1082cn8
Absolutely not!
Sooooooo.....
How much did the guy pay in total for the mod?
I love the Dumble type tone, and I was impressed with your work.
all said and done $600.00 for parts and labor. the owner did tip me though after all is said and done! :)
