    Between the 6 months of winter and the 4 months being stuck inside because of wildfires each year I'm strongly debating picking up a whole load of bait making materials lol gotta do something fishing related one of these days 😅

    I also use an electric griddle to keep my molds warm. Helps the plastisol flow better. Keeps it from rapid cooling and not fully filling the cavity.

    Another great vid, Nerds. I look forward to coming along on your bait making journey. Plastics is the gateway lure making drug. Jigs and airbrushing and flies, oh my. 😂
    If you live in a more humid climate or plan on pouring when it is raining out, a vacuum chamber is a must. Moisture bubbles are much worse than air bubbles from over stirring/shaking (which more often than not end up cooking off during the heat up).
    Anchor does just fine when using for injection. I've found I prefer the spout on Pyrex brand for hand pouring applications.

    This is awesome, I’m 24 from Alaska been fishing since I was 2 and never knew people could make soft baits at home, it would be awesome if this became as popular as tying your own flies. Gonna get my own equipment when I can.

    In addition to its already impressive versatility, the Speed Worm can also be cut into two separate pieces. The cut-tail end makes a Perfect Grub, and the front end can be an anchor point for a Tail-Spinner...

    I’ve seen 3 different hardnesses for their basic plastic mix. Which did you guys try out first? Also can you add salt with this for increased fall rate. Or

      We did the soft baits and no salt. It can damage your injector

    Do the zman type plastics melt down well with other stuff like zoom? Also, do you retain any of the elasticity of something like zman being remelted?

      You can’t melt them together. They sell elaztech style plastic.

    If I have the molds, the injector , microwave and cup, I’m using old baits what else do I neeed to reuse the baits and make them?. Do I need some of like worm oil or. I need help

      They say stabilizer is ideal for reusing plastics, but we are noobs so…. Check out worlds worst fishing

    This is a random idea but has anyone ever done glow in the dark baits? Or maybe some sort of color that changes and reacts to different water temperatures. Like cold it would be one color and when hot it turns the next!

      Btw the mixing tools, measuring spoons, measuring cups ect. Can just about always be found at a thrift store and even dollar stores to save money.

    Man, I’ll stick to five dollar bags from the store haha this vids cool but turned me right off I ain’t spending hundreds and hundreds to make worms worth a buck or less each. It’d take fifteen summers to break even lol. I wanted to do this til I realized you need a loan from the bank to start it up. They’re essentially just adult creepy crawlers.

      This is worth it if you have a lure idea that does not have a similar alternative. All the soft plastics I use are very specific and do it molds does not have them available.

      @@Ninj_SRG sure if you have that to spend to get a mold so you can have a different color or shape .i wouldnt fish arent like that. thats to catch fishermen. looks fun. pumpkin or similar, black, white is all you need if youre talking soft stuff and bass and itd be near impossible to find a shape different enough to matter. i spend my money my way though i wouldnt judge if someone spent ten thousand. i guess if you could find a way to get your own mold doneyou could have fun with it for just a few hundred id do that

      @@NigiriKnight oh I don’t really bass fish. I fish for inshore saltwater and salmon/steelhead. In regards to soft plastics there are some ideas I have that are not available in the market and would probably do very well. A custom cnc mold is only 2-300 anyways
