Numbers do not always tell the full story half the guys on a NFL team would not be in the big leagues in other sports because rosters in other sports are much smaller if you just look at the top 25 guys on a team basically the starters back up QB and kickers you see much longer careers and pay averages. Baseball is very top heavy with the top 25% making most of the money and 40% of the league making the minimum it is actually fourth of the four major sports in medium salary. Basketball may pay the most because of small rosters but is the hardest to make half of second round picks will not even make the league and most the other half will be out of the league in three years or less.
