    Konishiki has now lost 300 lbs.
    He can now fit inside an MRI,
    where a lot of ligament damage was discovered.
    His second career in music and children's entertainment is almost as big as his sumo career.

    The 95 in Konishiki's 733-498-95 record are not draws but in fact absences, that still count as losses for ranking purposes but statisticians still separate them. Additionally typically the when a rikishi withdraws mid tournament their first absence is counted in the loss column as the schedule is made for the next day's match before a rikishi would have the chance to withdraw leading to a loss via fusensho the future matches are then scheduled to take into account the absent rikishi but the rikishi will still have the absences counted as losses for determination of rank in the next tournament. In other words sumo records are weird.

    Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise? I thought not. It’s not a story the Jedi would tell you. It’s a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself.

    Except size really IS everything in every contact sport. Well... "everything" as in the single most important and exclusive determining factor for whether or not you're even ELIGIBLE to play in the big leagues. No amount of skill or genius at a game can make up for a certain height and/or size differential in contact sports.

    • @bobsmith-ov3kn
      @bobsmith-ov3kn 5 лет назад

      Most athletes in the big leagues are MILDLY COMPETENT at best at the game they play. The primary reason any of them are where they are is because they are BIG. One need only possess EVER SO SLIGHTLY ABOVE-AVERAGE COMPETENCE at a game when you're a big enough size, and professional teams will automatically consider you a "professional prospect". Watch any professional game and if you can tell trivial mistakes are getting made left and right every few seconds. There are actually very few really GOOD players in the big leagues, so the ones that ARE actually good are considered amazing godly superstars, when they are really probably only in like the 80th percentile of all the players of the game in a theoretical measure-of-actual-skill-game-intelligence adjusted for relative size
