And he answered, No. Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself? He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias. And they which were sent were of the Pharisees. John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose. These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing. The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me. And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water. And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God. Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples; And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God! And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou? He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour. One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ. And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone. The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me. Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see. Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile! Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee. Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel. Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these. And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man. And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him. After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there not many days. And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem, And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables; And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise. And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up. Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things? Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? But he spake of the temple of his body. When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said. Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did. But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.» (The Gospel of Jesus Christ - John - Chapter 1...
the pain in Taylor's eyes gives chills. the clip is beautiful, but haunting. love it & love you guys, TPR encouraged me to take singing classes and start making my own music
When I first heard this song when DBRR came out I thought it was a sequel to My Medicine just like Going to Hell was Going Down. Glad I’m not the only one that thought this.
You can really see and feel how those deaths affected her. She also seems like her health has been impacted. Wish her all the blessings to heal and keep evolving. She is a Rock Goddess but also a normal human in pain.

The entire album is brilliant, it's definitly one you should listen to in one go. Every song follow the journey of her trauma, grief and rising up again following Chris and Katos passing. The video is both beautifully shot and at the same time heartbreaking and haunting knowing the story behind what it's about.
Taylor is doing what great artists do, she has channelled her emotions into her art. She has put her feelings down in words to these songs. It likely kept her sane and relating with her band mates, who were mentally with her. The music they made is soulful and we can identify with it. I love that it is not about selling records. It is her love for rock n roll. Thank you, The Pretty Reckless.
@AB-xf5hs Chris Cornell (singer of Soundgarden and Audioslave) one of her biggest inspirations and musical heroes. It happened when they were on tour together. So it was basically, they hugged goodbye after one show "see you tomorrow" and then she got the news the next day that he had taken his life during the night. Kato was her producer and one of her closest friends. He was killed in a motorcycle crash some time after Chris when she was just about to make music again. She said in interviews that she just broke down and fell into a dark hole of despair and substance abuse and didn't even know if she wanted to get back up.
Been listening to TPR for a few years now and they keep surprising me. Taylor's vocals in this are so strangely calming, and yet she keeps you hooked, LUSTING for more!!! Stellar work as always, The Pretty Reckless, keep it up!!!

all these years later the pretty reckless are still my top favorite female lead band. up there with evanescence. taylor has such an amazing voice. such a great band!
Can’t believe I used to listen to TPR when I was only 12 years old, now i’m 19 and i still love every song they make. Loved this Taylor, love your voice!
I first listened to one of her songs called "going to hell" when i was 13. I began listening to her songs when i was 14. Im 17 and i still listen to her songs. They kick ass and so does she 🔥🔥
This new album is just so powerful I already think it's underrated. The Pretty Reckless is knocking on mainstream doors as Taylor Momsen proves herself a rockstar
In my book The Pretty Reckless more than deserves to stand right alongside legendary bands like Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Nirvana, early GN'R, etc. If this was the 90's they'd be blowing the non existent roofs off of arenas
I so love her signature voice. I really hope she gets the recognition she deserves and ofc the band itself! TPR's songs like this have so much soul in it which some of this/new generation lack. No hate. Just facts! ☮️

When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said. personally, while I appreciate the sentiment behind the lyrics and in general like the song, I actually hate the lyrics in this part lol. "not lost my brain, but im insane," im sorry but it sounds like something I would've written in a poem at age 14... I feel like there was a way to express this concept more poetically, more eloquently
I love how The Pretty Reckless always manage to pull out some classic type of tunes as a tribute to their favourite music of the past. This one's definately or maybe got a touch of Oasis to it.
Try to walk in the morning like you are nothing, kinda bow down to everything and everyone around) It's make me cry sometimes, so i got to hide my tears on the streets)
Somebody mixed my medicine has got to be one of the songs I’ve listened to the most in my life. That’s more my speed but I really like this. I think this is one of those songs that gets crazy stuck in your head 🖤❤️🖤
The first time I heard this group was on the radio the song "make me want to die" sent me down this rabbit hole. You mix amazing musical talent and a beautiful woman and it's hard to turn away. Thank you for the new music I enjoyed "Got so high" the siren becons me again, great vocals.
gossip girl introduced me to "make me want to die" that tv series introduced me to this amazing rock band, their music is also the last song played on shows last episode as the singer was a star actress in the show, it sent me down the rabbit hole every song is great
Fun facts: First video that Taylor has been involved in directing the video and all its elements. The song was written after the death of her producer Kato, and her favorite musician Chris Cornell. The whole song was done on acoustic before adding the extra elements. The melody was inspired by the Beatles. It is the song with the most personal approach on the album. Taylor is one of the few artists who doesn't restrict herself in showing fragility and remains kick-ass, even with a soft tone and a light ballad that would easily be a hit in the 90s. An incredible artist, a born songwriter and with a deep and dense voice, this era is definitely the best era musically speaking for The Pretty Reckless.
i'm cryin' now, kinda lost. the way she just hugged me w the song its refreshing, sometimes we just need a music about being lost e screw tryin to fix it
I started rebelling in elementary school (a catholic school at that) and was getting into Wicca books and stuff and was coincidentally just the same time I stumbled into “Make Me Wanna Die” - so everytime I hear their songs I just remember sitting in the library reading ‘blasphemous’ books and feeling like such a rebel lol, still absolutely love them, rock on 🤘🏻
I remember on the way home from vacation with my very catholic relatives, they were playing church music & I put in my headphones and blasted TPR. Definitely felt like a rebel myself 🤣
Every album is better than the last. I can't wait to see what they make next. For me their sound will be up there with Zeppelin and all the other great rockers.
@@lexysvlogs I have no doubt she'll be rocking until her dying day. Her genuine passion for the craft is one of the things I absolutely love about her.
I love everything you do more and more. Y'all got GUTTED, and it has somehow elevated you. Every video from this album has just destroyed me. I am so proud of you and how far you have come. I think your sound is absolutely unparalleled and Taylor, you are my Joan Jett
I can see how people will say this is a sequel to My Medicine, but I also think it’s the deeper layer to My Medicine. I’m gonna go on what the song means to me because this is my #1 song played on my Apple Music Playlist for 2021. The placement of this song on the album is track 6 after My Bones. Track 5 is clearly a song about the wanting to die, and Got So High to me is the failed suicide attempt. An overdose that didn’t work, and. we find Taylor in this state where it’s supposed to be a party, but really just “lost her brain” cause she “got so high”. Dazed the fuck out, blitzed on the couch, with this looming sadness. The couch floating signifies her almost brush of going to heaven. The song itself is a juxtaposition of My Bones - heavy rifts and angry screams to soft acoustic melody with bluesy tone filled with melodrama and sadness. The lyrics themselves are just that - a poignant reflection in a state of being high. It ties in so well with the rest of the album, I see a whole journey that is Death By Rock and Roll. And it’s a beautiful one.
There are no words to describe what kind of person you are. There are no words to describe your creativity. Thank you for your music. I love you with all my heart.
Love this. Taylor Momsen sounds great. I wish their NYC concert hadn't been canceled, I had tickets and really wanted to see TPR live. Hopefully I can one day. Anyway this video is awesome.
I love this song. Honestly, I prefer this, Harley Darling, and Standing at the Wall to anything else on that album. The fast songs are good.. but your slow songs are just perfection to me. I know... it is strange to be a huge fan of a bands "other" songs. but what really sucks is not being able to see them performed live.. but maybe someday you'll do an acoustic tour or something and do these slower songs? If so, I'd sell a Kidney to be front row.
Let us used this song as a reminder that no matter how far we got in life never forgot where we come from and how life can bounced us to somewhere we never want
aparte de "My medicine” este video me recordó mucho a “I'm whit you” de Avril Lavigne, me encantó, es mi favorita del álbum y tenerlo como sencillo es simplemente un sueño ❤️
Incredible! Love this song and music video as well! I'm happy that I've been in fandom of The Pretty Reckless for 11 years! Much love and support and success to y'all. You deserve to be known in the whole world and become the international rock- band! 💕🎉💕✌🏻
Dear Taylor Momsen, you became an example for me after I learned about how you overcame the difficulties of life, losses. I understand you. You have come a long way and for good reason! Please do not give up and do not lose heart! You are not alone and will never be alone or nobody! You always have support from your loved ones and from those who listen to you! Smile! (Hugging tightly) I believe in you and in your growth in everything! Whatever you choose, the main thing is that you are happy or something or someone makes you even happier! Unfortunately, life does not prepare us in advance for something and does not ask if we want it. But, we always have a choice! Love yourself, do what you like and make you happy!
Wow she matured very early. I don’t know how to explain, she doesn’t look like a cutie pretty girl, but an ordinary adult woman with life experience. And , I think that an adult woman looks more harmonious with such music. P/s She reminds me a lot of Lady Gaga. And she also has a good voice
hey Taylor whatever shit happens in life i'm glad i can listen to your songs. It makes my shitty life a little less shitty. Thank you beauty, one of my favorite performers
Wonderful video- worth the wait. I met you back in 2014, and got the privilege of seeing you all on 4/20 in Baltimore MD this year. Definitely showed up high, definitely going to hell, definitely love you all TPR! 🖤🤘
i remember hearing the pretty reckless for the first time watching the videos "my medicine" and "make me wanna die" and now seeing how far the band has come is amazing!
it’s fucking masterpiece. as time goes by Taylor gets better and better, the songs get even more incredible and the clips are unbelievable. Taylor, we love you with all own heart, keep singing, create and blow this world to hell! xoxo
I’m not part of your “we” …couldn’t care less😆 You relate because you were high when you typed this crap out ! You thought this was POWERFUL enough to “blow this world to hell ?” I’m sensing lots of pain here … 🥱
@@annagee3909 THAT, is a great question! Never in a million years should anyone comment on a minimum level dirge singer . I guess I was puzzled by her being able to “blow anything to hell “
Simplesmente IMPECÁVEL!!! Got So High com certeza a MELHOR do álbum! A sequência PERFEITA pra My Medicine, 10 anos depois! The Pretty Reckless EU TE AMO minha bandinha favorita da vida! 🖤🥹
So hauntingly beautiful! This is my favorite song on the album! I didnt know you guys were doing a music video for it ! (What an awesome birthday surprise 😜!) So of course I had to down a few beers, put my ceiling star color changing lights on, my black light paintings, take a toke and watch this! My mind is blown! friggen LOVE it !!! 🤟🎶🍻
Rock isn't my first choice of genre. But I make an exception for the TPR. Every single piece of music they create is in a league of its own. Perfection. Taylor is a true artist.
I dig the languid darkness of this. I wonder if part of it refers to the period after Kato's death. We know her friends were sincerely worried about her.
So gentle yet so dark at the same time the song itself compliments her voice can see this being my new favourite from them
I think witches burn is my favorite from DBRR love to see it a single with video
«In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?
And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.
And they asked him, What then?
Art thou Elias?
And he saith, I am not.
Art thou that prophet?
And he answered, No.
Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?
He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.
And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.
And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?

You do realise that it’s the makeup right?
Definitely a sequel to my medicine, 10 years later…amazing amazing amazing
Speaking of sequels: no one else has noticed that Going To Hell is literally a sequel to Goin Down…just saying
@@vestahahamashups4597 i noticed when going to hell came out
@@bunnysplicer4427 maybe not intentionally, but there is equability and balance across those 2 pieces
When I first heard this song when DBRR came out I thought it was a sequel to My Medicine just like Going to Hell was Going Down. Glad I’m not the only one that thought this.
That exactly i though 🇧🇷

Yeah plus the pain She went through with the industry and her pressure of her parents 💔
The entire album is brilliant, it's definitly one you should listen to in one go. Every song follow the journey of her trauma, grief and rising up again following Chris and Katos passing. The video is both beautifully shot and at the same time heartbreaking and haunting knowing the story behind what it's about.
This is truth
Taylor is doing what great artists do, she has channelled her emotions into her art. She has put her feelings down in words to these songs. It likely kept her sane and relating with her band mates, who were mentally with her. The music they made is soulful and we can identify with it.
I love that it is not about selling records. It is her love for rock n roll. Thank you, The Pretty Reckless.
Who were the ones that passed away? Family?
@AB-xf5hs Chris Cornell (singer of Soundgarden and Audioslave) one of her biggest inspirations and musical heroes. It happened when they were on tour together. So it was basically, they hugged goodbye after one show "see you tomorrow" and then she got the news the next day that he had taken his life during the night.
Kato was her producer and one of
her closest friends. He was killed in a motorcycle crash some time after Chris when she was just about to make music again.
She said in interviews that she just broke down and fell into a dark hole of despair and substance abuse and didn't even know if she wanted to get back up.
Love her voice and music. She sounds amazing unplugged and live. I hope she gets whatever she is looking for in her career. She’s very underrated.
Been listening to TPR for a few years now and they keep surprising me. Taylor's vocals in this are so strangely calming, and yet she keeps you hooked, LUSTING for more!!! Stellar work as always, The Pretty Reckless, keep it up!!!

But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.»

Just saw her in concert in San Diego, she never lost her touch!! Been a fan for 10 years she’ll always be my favorite 🖤
all these years later the pretty reckless are still my top favorite female lead band. up there with evanescence. taylor has such an amazing voice. such a great band!
Same here

The Pretty Reckless are in my top favourites. Have you listened to In This Moment? Another good female lead band :)
@@Lou-fb9ii Actually no, but I'll try. Thank you for the suggestion :)
ITM beautiful tragedy and the dream and blood after that blah they are industrial now like a female fronted NIN now
Can’t believe I used to listen to TPR when I was only 12 years old, now i’m 19 and i still love every song they make. Loved this Taylor, love your voice!
I'm over 30 years old, grew up listening to bands like Nirvana and I love TPR too 😜
you are so lucky
I first listened to one of her songs called "going to hell" when i was 13. I began listening to her songs when i was 14. Im 17 and i still listen to her songs. They kick ass and so does she 🔥🔥
I'm 28, I just discovered TPR and I feel incredibely lucky for that. Especially since I'm going to see them live in six weeks
me too! well, 21 now, but I discovered then when I was like… 9 or 10? opening for evanescence. my second concert ever. hooked ever since.
Everything she touches is gold!!! Taylor n the band can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned!!! Keep doin what u do love u guys!!!!
This became my favorite song from DBRR and the remix was awesome too. You are amazing Taylor.
Best rock band of the last decade or more. So underrated and under recognized.
They're so talented. Love her singing and they play so many different versions of their talent. Never disappointing
I so love her signature voice. I really hope she gets the recognition she deserves and ofc the band itself! TPR's songs like this have so much soul in it which some of this/new generation lack.
No hate. Just facts! ☮️
What a beautiful yet heartbreaking music video this is... thank you The Pretty Reckless for the raw emotions you emote through your music💌
John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

"if I wanted to fly I should've climbed up to the highest mountain top, not lost my brain"
Beautiful, powerful lyrics
🫀
♥️
personally, while I appreciate the sentiment behind the lyrics and in general like the song, I actually hate the lyrics in this part lol.
"I was something but now I'm nothing" literally killed me here

🤘
I love knowing the Melody was inspired by the Beatles! this is my favourite song on DBRAR.
Well said 🤟 thanks for sharing 😊
i get wanting to do the song but don't get releasing it as the first single. maybe as it's own single but not the first song to represent a new album
@@ModeratelyAmused this was the last single of the album..
Minha música favorita do álbum! Taylor está belíssima no clipe, meu Deus do céu!
Awesome chills , The Pretty Reckless are just so good.
My goodness this gave me chills
i'm cryin' now, kinda lost. the way she just hugged me w the song its refreshing, sometimes we just need a music about being lost e screw tryin to fix it
She's giving her voice and it sounds
like gold. Pure & soo Very beautifully
Done.🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼😉.
100000% agree. Can’t wait to see Taylor at 70 still rockin it up on stage 🤘
@@lexysvlogs I have no doubt she'll be rocking until her dying day. Her genuine passion for the craft is one of the things I absolutely love about her.
@@lexysvlogs Yep,Death by Rock and Roll proves she would die for her music.

@@TheIr2way We're allowed to love them as passionately as we wish.
Never a dull track with TPR, the whole band is awesome!
Какой же у Тейлор невероятный голос. Каждый раз мурашки. 🔥
Вернулась за мурашками😊
This song gives me a feeling of inner peace and helps me overcome the sadness
That old Rock is coming back 🔥 Definitely will be the genre of 2023
There are no words to describe what kind of person you are. There are no words to describe your creativity. Thank you for your music. I love you with all my heart.
This song is pure gold! .....so happy we got an MV for it! 🤟🏽❤️🔥🤟🏽❤️🔥🤟🏽
One of the best music videos since my medicine!!! I love this band.
Love this. Taylor Momsen sounds great.
I wish their NYC concert hadn't been canceled, I had tickets and really wanted to see TPR live. Hopefully I can one day. Anyway this video is awesome.
The guitar sound makes this extraordinary. Nice stuff!
I absolutely love this song! I have had it stuck in my head for months!

Вау,это просто афигенно,у меня нет слов
One, two, three... go ahead! Powerfull goddess!
The more TPR does, the more I love them.
I thought that she hasn't done music anymore. It is so nice to hear her again!

I know the feeling. Great song, album and reference to their early days, long live TPR 🖤
I love this song so much and the video emulates the emotion of the song perfectly. Their music feeds my soul.
