oh yes, I know--SPN is derived from established urban legends. It's just the most recent pop culture reference (before this song) of a crossroads demon
moreblack Hahah I vaguely know it by name and reputation. The great thing about Supernatural is that it brought all these classic legends back to the Millennial cultural canon.
This is one of my favorite songs to listen to when I'm road tripping. Between the guitar riff and the rhythm of the drums, I can't help but feel like I'm a hobo riding in the car of a freight train. The lyrics are super fun, too - easy to sing along with. I fucking love this song! Definitely one of the most under-rated artists.
I just discovered this band. Holy crap! They are so good. The singer is amazing. I'm getting country hard rock vibes from her. But it could just be her accent. But I'm in love. It reminds me of when I was younger. I loved hard rock and still do. And this singer is one bad ass lady! Sing girl sing!
yeah when I realized this was little cindy lou who, I downshifted and sent horns out my window doing 80. There is hope, this band, and others like them are proof
This song is about Robert Johnson. A 1930s blues player from the Mississippi delta and easily the single most influential person on American music that ever lived. The legend is that he went to the crossroads in Mississippi and sold his soul to the devil in exchange for tuning his guitar. After that he went from mediocre guitar player to being able to do things most guitar heros still can't do today. Damn it's always nice seeing modern artist still paying respect to him.
Her voice is absolutely amazing, and she was only TWENTY THREE years old when this song came out. Looking forward to another 30 years of great music from them!
Yeah its a lot of fun to watch them sing together. And how she looks both of them in the eyes show's how much respect Taylor has for both of them. I hope I can see them sing this song live with Taylor one day 😍
WHAT A GROOVE THIS SONG HAS! STRAIGHT UP AMERICAN ASS KICKING ROCK & ROLL!!! IT JUST DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT! SHE IS SUPREMELY GIFTED. JUST LIKE HER BANDMATES!! THEIR MUSIC SPEAKS TO THE HUMAN SOUL.
Ah right my bad, and too right! Just saw all of these negative comments preaching religion saying that the turning against God is horrible etc... Figured you were like one of them XD.
This band is maturing nicely! I love how their sound is consistently evolving. This song really is catchy as hell. Also, even though Taylor is hot as hell, it's nice to see them stepping away from oversexualizing their videos for a change.
Daniel Babineau It's something most female celebrities do, especially those who are in the showbiz since childhood. I guess they to it in order to shock the audience and say "Hey, I'm not that child from blablabla anymore, I've got my own style and personality, I am grown up". Then, when people get the message, celebrities like Taylor or Miley Cyrus start to calm down, they stop being half naked and caring about what people think about them. At this point, their only focus is their career, and that's when they evolve and improve their skills.
The first time I heard this, I was driving through the middle of nowhere in central Illinois a few years ago (trying to find any FM station I could tolerate). I knew immediately I'd have to listen again. And again. And again. Awesome song
She was 23 when she recorded this, and her voice just says I've got your soul in my hands. Her voice has matured and so has her range. Rock on Taylor 🤘 🎶🎸🤘😎🤘🎸🎶
@ThePrettyReckless, @TaylorMomsen, Taylor & Co. I found you guys by scrolling YT a while back and this vid popped up. This vid was/is a game changer for me. I had to comment to let you know that you have Much Love coming from me, here in NC .. I love every song that you’ve produced and have them all downloaded to my personal playlist. This genre of Rock that you created yourself and went against the grain, is absolutely incredible. Every song relates to my life in one way or the other. I’m a 61 yr old “Rocker” who grew up in the 70’s which is the decade that set records in the “Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll” categories, which will never be broken.. Ever !! The point I’m trying to make here is, that your music will forever prevail the test of time, and will be just like fine wine.. Better as it ages. I love you Tay the and the entire gang that make up “The Pretty Reckless.” A True Fan For Life. I can’t wait to hear your next masterpiece!! 🔥❤️
This BAND is AMAZING! I am so glad these humans found each other and decided to make beautiful music! Rock n Roll WILL NEVER DIE! Taylor is an incredible song writer just getting back in the saddle! Sound the cavalry horn! 🐎
[Verse 1] Been waitin' at these crossroads Forever and a day On a guy to buy my soul I spend all night and day How much harder can I play? You know I gave my life to rock n' roll Here we go [Verse 2] Mama begged me please Yes, she got down on her knees Said "you'll burn in that Mississippi sun" But I'm the only one that's standing here So mama don't you have no fear I'm either last or I've already won Here I go [Chorus] Take me down Take me down Take me down Won't you take me down [Verse 3] Standing at the crossroads A dried up pen in hand The conversation went like this "Tell me your desire why you pulled me from the fire and we'll seal the deal with a kiss" Said "I wanna raise the dead Find a note that I can shred On my walls I scrawl my gods Don't care what happens when I die As long as I'm alive All I wanna do is rock, rock, rock" [Chorus] Take me down Take me down Take me down Won't you take me down [Bridge] Oh, sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil Oh! Sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil Oh! Sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil Oh! Sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil Oh! [Chorus] Take me down Take me down Take me down Won't you take me down [Outro] Take me down (Sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil) Take me down (Sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil, oh) Won't you take me down (Sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil) (I got a record deal)
@Nathan Green It's a song...lol... not a binding contract, that remains at this point unreviewed. Your contract however is valid and paid in full have no worries....
Nathan Green Dude the song is not about her , it's about a Mississippi blues singer named Robert Johnson who supposedly sold his soul to the devil for fame ! And he met the devil at the crossroads..... Now you know !
I’m new to TPR music…….it makes a refreshing change to hear quality, bloody good music…to the point where Pretty reckless are simply the best band I have across for a long time..luv it👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🇬🇧
Just saw them in Maplewood, Mn, Effing awesome! Taylor was number one awesome! The Pretty Reckless were just as awesome as Taylor was!! Taylor has one of the most awesome bands that ever was!! During "messed up world", the drummer proceeded with an awesome 10 minute solo! As he was done as the crowd is cheering, he got his phone out and recorded the crowd!
Just don't wear a West Coast Choppers T shirt to the event! The scull on the back of it seemed to attract young women enough so that some were actually pushing their boobs into my back and arms! Oh! and it seemed to attract young dickhead males too! Dumbass blabbermouths!! Shee-it! I am getting too old!
I see the old story of going down to the crossroads, meeting Old Splitfoot & selling your soul for magic in your music is alive & well... Robert Johnson might like it, if he were alive to hear it today. The blues will never die.
Have you seen any pictures of her when she was a child XD. There was a top ten something about artists changing from when they were little and she was one of them.

All I hear is "heyyyy, get uuup, get louuuud, we're pumping up the party now" xD
same omg
same!

HOLYSHIT I HEAR IT TOO NOW ROTFL
EXACTLY OMG I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE
These guys are murderous. What pipes. I hope they keep making music cause rock could use bands like this.
Listen to The Warning “..
To think she was looking at the Grinch with her 2 big front teeth when she was little, glad she went the musical route, love all of her albums
“ guys” ??? That’s Taylor Momson- she is gorgeous and talented!
Her pipes aren't that spectacular or uncommon, just look at Brody Dalle of The Distillers or many others
This is my favourite Christmas song
I got the reference hahaha
Hahaha this is exactly what the crossroads demons in Supernatural do
^-^
Oh the Robert Johnson legend's been around way longer than that...
oh yes, I know--SPN is derived from established urban legends. It's just the most recent pop culture reference (before this song) of a crossroads demon
Lil Gripes Don't forget the movie Crossroads with Ralph Macchio as well. Taylor mentioned that one when she was asked about the song in an interview.
moreblack Hahah I vaguely know it by name and reputation. The great thing about Supernatural is that it brought all these classic legends back to the Millennial cultural canon.
Her voice sounds like it been aged for centuries by good whiskey and cigarettes... Awesome
Its grimy sexy hardcore talent

@@slippedknot2001 no way
She’s what like 26 and she sounds 46. Not a bad thing at all, her voice sounds much more mature than you’d expect for her age
nope smokin H voice
Result of very hard working band. Nothing is left unchecked. Filled up with subtilties and ultra professional playing. Awesome. You're awesome.
Это уж точно. ) Никогда не надоедают песни со старых альбомов Тейлор. Альбомы выходят редко, но качество музыки остаётся на высшем уровне.)
My man complains I play her music too much! Love her!
good god yeah go!!!
Clarissa Marlene well i suggest you get a new man and by the way im available
He's not much of a man if he believes there can be too much of this.
dump him. you don't need that negativity in your life
lol you need to find a new 'man'
That drummer is really good, damn!
The band doesn't get enough credit. 👍
Satan yeah, in fact, the drummer is awesome. The band is great. You don't know wtf you're talking about. Let me guess... you play... nothing!
Satan while he's not doing anything super complex or technical he is employing dynamics very well which is rare for radio rock groups.
This song is easy to play..nothing special drummer is deploying

Been waiting at these crossroads forever and a day for this video
Def my favorite song from this band
This is one of my favorite songs to listen to when I'm road tripping. Between the guitar riff and the rhythm of the drums, I can't help but feel like I'm a hobo riding in the car of a freight train. The lyrics are super fun, too - easy to sing along with. I fucking love this song! Definitely one of the most under-rated artists.
Just discovered this great band. I am over 50 and this is one of the best tracks I have ever heard.
Damn what have you been listening to for the past 40 years 😂
Same here just found this band too I’m 57 there great and going places ..
Same here.
Really like that they've found their sound. This blues rock works perfect for them!
Truth!!!!!
Hard to believe she was once Cindy Lou Who.
yeah when I realized this was little cindy lou who, I downshifted and sent horns out my window doing 80. There is hope, this band, and others like them are proof
Brilliant voice decent backing. She brings me to tears with her rock.
Just finding this band...Where’ve I been? Her voice is incredible!
One of my favorite movies is crossRoads with the Ralph Macchio, Jamie Gertz and blues legend Joe Seneca. One of the best movies ever.
Isn’t there a movie on Netflix about him ?
Obviously you have zero clue about American history of music.
@@daviscovers5231 years ago was a movie called ""cross roads.""

This song cannot be played too loud no matter how loud you play it. Another classic.
Quite simply one of the best tracks ever. Totally iconic performance.
Seeing how it's a cover of Sympathy of the Devil with a few changes and different lyrics,. Did the Stones get a cut?
@@hydguy Irrelevant.
Her voice is absolutely amazing, and she was only TWENTY THREE years old when this song came out. Looking forward to another 30 years of great music from them!
Just recently started to listen to The Pretty Reckless, yeah I know, I live in a friggin bubble. Good tunes, real musicians.
Cindy Lou Who grew up to be a kick ass rocker. Love her voice. Keep kickin' it!
Truth!!!!!
When she's singing with the other two women she looks like she's having so much fun I love it
Yeah its a lot of fun to watch them sing together.
I CAN'T DEAL WITH TAYLOR'S LOOK
LOOK AT THOSE EYES MAN
Are you not aware of the fact that this has been her style outside of TV for years?
Ah right my bad, and too right! Just saw all of these negative comments preaching religion saying that the turning against God is horrible etc... Figured you were like one of them XD.
hahah nah
She really does have insanely great eyes.
Whistler lol, chill man
This band is maturing nicely!
When we're all long gone, this masterpiece will still be enjoyed in regular rotation on whatever passes for radio at the time.
Mad props to whoever's wearing that triangle out.
I got a fever, and the prescription is more triangle.
Awesome! Greetings from Mexico!
yaaaaaaass! please
Gus Young Que paso from Chicago!!
no one cares if your from mexico.
no one cares what you think either
Lucia Salazar I'm not the fool yelling I'm from some pathetic third world country, and yes its obvious your Mexican, by your shitty name.
And that, boys and girls, is how TPR saved rock n' roll.
The first time I heard this, I was driving through the middle of nowhere in central Illinois a few years ago (trying to find any FM station I could tolerate). I knew immediately I'd have to listen again. And again. And again. Awesome song
Not making any comparisons, but I haven’t heard any singer (male or female) who’s performance is soul searching Since Janis Joplin. Stay with us girl…

Lzzy hale of the band Halestorm. Awesome vocals as well as Taylor.
She was 23 when she recorded this, and her voice just says I've got your soul in my hands.
Her voice has matured and so has her range.

Maryam Salim oh yeayy I love her voice but she's so iconic in gossip girl. So happy that little Jinny find her own road 😏
An extremely well produced and mixed recording, great addition of the soul / blues backing singers unusual for a rock band. great track
I love her voice, her voice reminds me of old school rock n roll blues.
This BAND is AMAZING! I am so glad these humans found each other and decided to make beautiful music! Rock n Roll WILL NEVER DIE! Taylor is an incredible song writer just getting back in the saddle! Sound the cavalry horn! 🐎
I am 62 now. They remind me of groups from the 70's and 80's.
They are one of the best groups I have heard in a long time. ❤
[Verse 1]
Been waitin' at these crossroads
Forever and a day
On a guy to buy my soul
I spend all night and day
How much harder can I play?
You know I gave my life to rock n' roll
Here we go
[Verse 2]
Mama begged me please
Yes, she got down on her knees
Said "you'll burn in that Mississippi sun"
But I'm the only one that's standing here
So mama don't you have no fear
I'm either last or I've already won
Here I go
[Chorus]
Take me down
Take me down
Take me down
Won't you take me down
[Verse 3]
Standing at the crossroads
A dried up pen in hand
The conversation went like this
"Tell me your desire why you pulled me from the fire and we'll seal the deal with a kiss"
Said "I wanna raise the dead
Find a note that I can shred
On my walls I scrawl my gods
Don't care what happens when I die
As long as I'm alive
All I wanna do is rock, rock, rock"
[Chorus]
Take me down
Take me down
Take me down
Won't you take me down
[Bridge]
Oh, sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil Oh!
Sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil
Oh!
Sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil
Oh!
Sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil
Oh!
[Chorus]
Take me down
Take me down
Take me down
Won't you take me down
[Outro]
Take me down
(Sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil)
Take me down
(Sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil, oh)
Won't you take me down
(Sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil)
(I got a record deal)
Dmitry Lightwood it’s in the description
@Nathan Green It's a song...lol... not a binding contract, that remains at this point unreviewed. Your contract however is valid and paid in full have no worries....
Dimitry Lightwood I loved this song so much I listened to it like three or four times and I had the lyrics down !
Nathan Green Dude the song is not about her , it's about a Mississippi blues singer named Robert Johnson who supposedly sold his soul to the devil for fame ! And he met the devil at the crossroads..... Now you know !
Truth!!!!!
I’m new to TPR music…….it makes a refreshing change to hear quality, bloody good music…to the point where Pretty reckless are simply the best band I have across for a long time..luv it👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🇬🇧
Tpr ?
I got in the first cords a "sympathie for the devil"-vibes, I was right. Fucking great music
I didn't say "awesome" enough!!!
The very first song by The Pretty Reckless I ever heard and still one of my favourites.
I don't like how she got into rock but I'm glad she's here.
I see the old story of going down to the crossroads, meeting Old Splitfoot & selling your soul for magic in your music is alive & well... Robert Johnson might like it, if he were alive to hear it today. The blues will never die.
This is the type of good music!
Dam right, has and old school sound !!
Lovin' this song; can't wait for the album.
Pre-order will be a nice taste for now
Perfect. That's the adjective for her voice and the band's performance. Perfect.

I hope you will!
Such a great Rock&Roll voice, she has just the right amount of everything in there.
all of her songs are catchy and i love it,
her songs?????? hmmmm i guess the band had nothing to do with them......her songs!!!!!HA>>>>>
Great song. Love love love the guitar riff and how it's played and building on the energy.
Gosh, Taylor is so freaking hot.
Lame-o
Have you seen any pictures of her when she was a child XD. There was a top ten something about artists changing from when they were little and she was one of them.

Yes. She was little Mary Lou on the Grinch with Jim Carey. Tones of pics.

I don't think it's possible for me to overstate just how great the videography for this is.
I am so impressed with the female rockers out there. This band is very impressive. Between Thunder mother Band Maid Samantha Fish these players I think rock is growing in the right direction.
