LYRICS
Been waitin' at these crossroads
Forever and a day
On a guy to buy my soul
I spend all night and day
How much harder can I play?
You know I gave my life to rock n' roll
Here we go
Mama begged me please
Yes, she got down on her knees
Said """"""""you'll burn in that Mississippi sun""""""""
But I'm the only one that's standing here
So mama don't you have no fear
I'm either last or I've already won
Here I go
Take me down
Take me down
Take me down
Won't you take me down
Standing at the crossroads
A dried up pen in hand
The conversation went like this
""""""""Tell me your desire why you pulled me from the fire and we'll seal the deal with a kiss""""""""
Said """"""""I wanna raise the dead
Find a note that I can shred
On my walls I scrawl my gods
Don't care what happens when I die
As long as I'm alive
All I wanna do is rock, rock, rock""""""""
Take me down
Take me down
Take me down
Won't you take me down
Oh, sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil Oh!
Sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil
Oh!
Sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil
Oh!
Sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil
Oh!
Take me down
Take me down
Take me down
Won't you take me down
Take me down
(Sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil)
Take me down
(Sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil, oh)
Won't you take me down
(Sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil)
(I got a record deal)

Taylor made the right choice leaving Hollywood. Her voice rocks and the band kicks ass.
Critic Gunthy is
Pretty wrecklesss
Critic Gunthy you should see them live. Very very good live.
you do know The record industry is still hollywood right?
U.S. SAM Dude shes on interscope/razor & tie straight up major record label owned by Universal music group. She never left hollywood she just switched departments. And while houre right and not all studios/ labels are in cali pretty much all of the major players are in cali.
If this was released in the 70's /80"s this would be a classic already
@wayamaya I agree. Rock isn’t really at the fore front in popularity nowadays, so of course they are as appreciated by the masses. However, I don’t think they are underrated because they do get lots of praise within rock scope of things...at least I think so. I mean they get pretty heavy rotation of rock stations.
It is in My Mind, Heart and Soul LOLOLOLHAHA
Decade doesn't matter it is a classic
We'd have senate hearings about impropriety.
@@liquid6901 I guess you weren't alive back then
I don't know what it is about Taylor's voice that keeps me coming back to listen to her.
it sounds a lot like the rolling stones-sympathy for the devil
omg it does! i never noticed that before
lol she needs to cover it :)

something tells me that was the plan
She's a great Talent 😊 This is such a beautiful song.

Agreed. Such talent should be used and appreciated where it belongs!
It's definitely her calling.
Generic bs.
No liein LOL
As an “old-timer” I am stunned to hear quality Rock N’ Roll in the age of canned commercialized music.
Amen
I'm right there with ya' Reuven ... 70's sound ... great quality singing/playing/production. What's not to love

And baby you dont live in Albania! Police might come soon but fuck it!
Everything about this song is gold- the lead, the backup, the guitar, all of it. One of those songs I can't stop listening to.
I hear you. Amazing isn't she.
@@roylevesque8803yes and of course cute
Would you believe this is the little girl who played Cindy Lou Who in the Grinch?
Fuck yeah
The production is stellar. Whoever produced it made all the little pieces fit and pop in all the right spots! When you take a great song, a great singer, great musicians, and a great producer with the equipment and freedom to do their thing...well here it is!
I keep waiting for Crowley to pop up and say "Hello boys, the name's Crowley. King of the crossroads'
i think you have watch too much supernatural but now you say that i wish it would :P
she would make a good ruby, i would sell my sell if she offerd :P
When I first heard this song, I really honestly thought that it had to have been inspired by Supernatural like woah. She neeeeeeeeds to be on the show I think it'd be perfect!
Omg Yes! That's exactly what i thought!
+Arnan Jongste is there such a thing as watching too much Supernatural though? :p
Wow I didn't expect her voice to be so raspy and low but I'm digging it. It's makes the song amazing! Also I saw a comment about the Winchesters and I was thinking of how this would be a perfect spn song hahaha!
It not it's... Come on autocorrect!
omg right a song made right for supernatural
She's been smoking a lot of cigarettes and it's changed her voice a little, but she said she's trying to quit
+Debra-Ann Walker that makes sense... It is very raspy. Hope she can for her health!
She's like a female Chris Cornell!
42 years old, and have listened to so much music, and written my own. This is one of the greatest rock songs of all time. The Pretty Reckless is an amazing band. This song is lightning in a bottle.
Yep, so good!
it has awesome vocal pitch and lyrics thanks to Taylor

and reminding me what real R&R makes you feel like. Her love for Rock is infectious!
I know Jeff would have loved playing with them too...
Still can’t wrap my head around that she was the little girl in Jim Carey’s Dr.Seuss. What a great talent and one of a kind voice. Rock on Taylor
Actors and actresses don't usually move into music in a very believable way...but this is gold. .love it.
Liz Wynaco she's been doing this for 7 years, but she's been writing songs since she was a kid
Liz Wynaco she has publicly stated that in acting you get to play someone else, but in music you get to be yourself.
How is this gold? This is what music has come to. It’s all fake. It’s all an act. It’s all about fame and money.
Cindy Lou Hoo rocks!
evan brown Piss off dude
I don't know if Taylor's pipes were born at the bottom of a whiskey barrel, or ashtray....but either way, that smoldering resonance is unmistakable. This chick CAN rock. The whole band has this infectious groove; the Reckless are VERY underrated.
I just found them on amazon while i was at the gym yesterday
She's sounds like what Jack Daniels would sound like
Tommy, Maye, "she ... 'SIGNED WITH THE DEVIL' ... " Lol, I got a record deal. Just because her tone of skin is one thing, but her voice says other wise. " ... burn ... Mississippi Sun ... " Hum, 🤔!
Ive always said she got the sexiest whiskey smoke burned cords. Gotta love this woman voice.
i love the comment. base line rock love!
First video of the pretty reckless I liked it for real. Its more mature and natural. Love the singers with Taylor too.
She looked like she was having a blast filming that part with them.
yeah. Taylor is not much a smiley gal (which I can totally relate) but I guess I can presume she had fun doing this vídeo. Cant wait for the new record.
Are you saying that you thought the previous albums weren't mature and natural?
I am saying the vídeos werent as natural as this one. I feel like she was always trying to make it something very intense and dramatic. I didn't feel the necessity of this on the vídeos but she did and its fine. I think this vídeo its more about the song and the band era. Dont get me wrong. I love going to hell and I understand that Light me up was her first record. I'm talking more about the direction of the vídeo.
+Ramona Soants I get what you mean and I agree
I'm an old grumpy man who thinks today's music generally sucks, but I like this band a lot. Solid musicians, not using the polishing gimmicks many use today and her voice is not the least bit forced or cliche'.
Same as you - the first time I heard Heaven knows it pulled back into music. Pretty Reckless, along with Halestorm are my two favorite bands... been luck enough to see them both in concert as small venues---both put on great shows.
Y'all should check out The Small Town Titans as well. They are awesome!
Good old fashioned straight up Rock and Roll.
I love seeing it make a comeback.
she's giving an ode to the old blues Crossroad...by Robert Johnson who supposedly sold his soul to the devil at the crossroad, in Mississippi
Laurie O'Hare and also the rolling stones was an influence on her and this song shares a lot in common with sympathy for the devil
Scott McDaniel It's such an awesome feeling 😆
Scott McDaniel I want to slap you for comparing this to classic rock... Jesus
Yes I like it.
How she is not the Number one "Taylor" in music is shocking. I'm a little late to The Pretty Reckless party, but I am staying. Quality rock and roll. Keep it up!
Its a good thing , means she hasnt sold out to the big guy

Hahaha this is exactly what the crossroads demons in Supernatural do
^-^
Oh the Robert Johnson legend's been around way longer than that...
oh yes, I know--SPN is derived from established urban legends. It's just the most recent pop culture reference (before this song) of a crossroads demon
Lil Gripes Don't forget the movie Crossroads with Ralph Macchio as well. Taylor mentioned that one when she was asked about the song in an interview.
moreblack Hahah I vaguely know it by name and reputation. The great thing about Supernatural is that it brought all these classic legends back to the Millennial cultural canon.
Somebody else here after ACDC?
Oh absolutely! Im here
Going today, just checking em out
Sure, I saw them last night in London. Amazing
She does know how to put on a good show. Was a fan before ACDC but always appreciate Taylor. She nailed this song though and just a great overall performer.
Nah man. Been listening to the Reckless for years. Was showing my wife what the sisters (The Warning) need to do to "dirty" themselves up to be taken seriously.

I never get tired of this song. The lead in guitars, perfect choice for backup singers, overall just an awesome arrangement. Very tight.

And lyrics referencing selling one's soul at the crossroads. Great song.
These guys are murderous. What pipes. I hope they keep making music cause rock could use bands like this.

To think she was looking at the Grinch with her 2 big front teeth when she was little, glad she went the musical route, love all of her albums
“ guys” ??? That’s Taylor Momson- she is gorgeous and talented!
Her pipes aren't that spectacular or uncommon, just look at Brody Dalle of The Distillers or many others
This is my favourite Christmas song
I got the reference hahaha
This song is about Robert Johnson. A 1930s blues player from the Mississippi delta and easily the single most influential person on American music that ever lived.
The legend is that he went to the crossroads in Mississippi and sold his soul to the devil in exchange for tuning his guitar. After that he went from mediocre guitar player to being able to do things most guitar heros still can't do today. Damn it's always nice seeing modern artist still paying respect to him.
One of my favorite movies is crossRoads with the Ralph Macchio, Jamie Gertz and blues legend Joe Seneca. One of the best movies ever.
Isn’t there a movie on Netflix about him ?
Obviously you have zero clue about American history of music.

No, Supernatural draws from the same source material. Same with the Crossroads movie, and a million other songs. The myth of Robert Johnson.

This band is maturing nicely! I love how their sound is consistently evolving. This song really is catchy as hell. Also, even though Taylor is hot as hell, it's nice to see them stepping away from oversexualizing their videos for a change.
Daniel Babineau It's something most female celebrities do, especially those who are in the showbiz since childhood. I guess they to it in order to shock the audience and say "Hey, I'm not that child from blablabla anymore, I've got my own style and personality, I am grown up".
Then, when people get the message, celebrities like Taylor or Miley Cyrus start to calm down, they stop being half naked and caring about what people think about them.
At this point, their only focus is their career, and that's when they evolve and improve their skills.
WHAT A GROOVE THIS SONG HAS! STRAIGHT UP AMERICAN ASS KICKING ROCK & ROLL!!! IT JUST DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT! SHE IS SUPREMELY GIFTED. JUST LIKE HER BANDMATES!! THEIR MUSIC SPEAKS TO THE HUMAN SOUL.

the chord progressions are similar. however most are.. either 1,4,5. or 2,5,1. or 1,5,4,1. I just named about 75% of all chords. one thing about this one and steel dragons, is the changes are very similar to the chords. so it might seem repetitive. i like it, because the worst thing to happen to some songs, is the change-ups....

It's crazy how Taylor went from the little girl in the grinch movie to being a lead singer in a band for rock honestly never saw it coming but man she's amazing
Just finding this band...Where’ve I been? Her voice is incredible!
Wonder if the cross roads devil she's singing about she sold her soul to was Crowley lol
My guess is it's a metaphor for a recording contract.
Doubt that. But I was just really making a reference from the "Supernatural" TV series
and sealed the deal with a kiss xD
Ziggy Gat same dude
theM4D MILIT4NT it's more like a retelling of crossroads made famous by Eric Clapton
This song is bad ass
Quite simply one of the best tracks ever. Totally iconic performance.
Seeing how it's a cover of Sympathy of the Devil with a few changes and different lyrics,. Did the Stones get a cut?
@@hydguy Irrelevant.
Really like that they've found their sound. This blues rock works perfect for them!
Truth!!!!!
Still waiting for a duet with Avril..
YASS
yuuu HELL NO
nooooo you want a "Hello shitty"? xD Es una mierda la música de Avril no jodas jajaja
That would makeTPR more famous, and I don't like to share hahahahah
You may be waiting a long long time.
Cannot get enough of this song
When we're all long gone, this masterpiece will still be enjoyed in regular rotation on whatever passes for radio at the time.
The Rolling Stones. Sympathy for the Devil.
Nexus Dream true
it sounds similar but it's different enough to be original :)
There's an Audioslave song (can't rembember the name) that sounds just like this song. Doesn't Remind Me IIRC
It is really different it has a similar feel for sure but it is very different from the stones original or the GnR cover (which is one of my favourite songs of all time)
That was my first thought too!
I see the old story of going down to the crossroads, meeting Old Splitfoot & selling your soul for magic in your music is alive & well... Robert Johnson might like it, if he were alive to hear it today. The blues will never die.
I'm 10,000 years old. Seen it all. I'll listen to this. All. Day. Long.
Hmm 🧐 your crazy lol
Her voice is meant for rock n roll! Love it
Just recently started to listen to The Pretty Reckless, yeah I know, I live in a friggin bubble. Good tunes, real musicians.
she's the best out there the whole band is no joke they. can actually play every style of music
Maybe not Rap xD
Christian Martineson except Good music
Johnny Depth
And here comes the elitist music dude without any knowlage about music.
This BAND is AMAZING! I am so glad these humans found each other and decided to make beautiful music! Rock n Roll WILL NEVER DIE! Taylor is an incredible song writer just getting back in the saddle! Sound the cavalry horn! 🐎
I am 62 now. They remind me of groups from the 70's and 80's.
They are one of the best groups I have heard in a long time. ❤
This is one of my favorite songs to listen to when I'm road tripping. Between the guitar riff and the rhythm of the drums, I can't help but feel like I'm a hobo riding in the car of a freight train. The lyrics are super fun, too - easy to sing along with. I fucking love this song! Definitely one of the most under-rated artists.
