      Elizabeth,
Taylor did the Grinch somewhere around 6 y/o. What I think she meant at 11 y/o was...
Being one of the top3 girls considered for the role Hannah Montana.
Wondering what trajectory life would take if she had been offered that role...🤔
She has now called it a blessing in disguise...
Which I agree because I Love her work in The Pretty Reckless

Suggest checking out *"Wild City"* and *"Back to the River"* from *The Pretty Reckless* for more awesomeness. This band is awesome, especially Taylor. But... the character of unplugged versions of these songs is different-not better or worse-from the studio/video version and ends up with different character than the original performance from which it was based. _It'd be completely awesome to see you provide compare and contrast studio versions against these intimate live performances._ (Ex.: How do vocalists and bands alter their approach to different performance settings?)
...while I'm at, recommend *"Superhuman"* from *Charlotte Wessels* (again!😛) 🤙🏼

Surprise review. Not many delve into Pretty Reckless. Marks for using the German word Dur for a major key, with diphthong being a small added bonus. Would be interested in your take on Beth Hart's performance of Am I The One live at the Paradiso, Netherlands..I believe it's from 2002. It's a crazy ride.

So there's a lot of great Pretty Reckless songs: "Going to Hell," "House on a Hill," "Miss Nothing," "Make Me Wanna Die," and of course, "Heaven Knows." But if you really want to hear how deep the damage goes, the song you want is "Kill Me," where she goes into pretty explicit detail about what happened to her as a child star, among other things. If you check that one out, remember to buckle up and be ready for a real rollercoaster of negative emotion.
And if you want to hear her and Lzzy Hale together, check out the cover that she, Lzzy, and Maria Brink from In This Moment released of Queen's "We Will Rock You," last year. There's a lot of menace in that cover.

There is not a single bad song she's recorded. She's has an absolutely stellar voice backed with life experience, desire, passion and wisdom. I've seen and heard many very famous singers s and she is absolutely the finest female vocalist today in rock, and maybe in and genre. Her band compliments her voice with the music they make together and is equally powerful. The song you reviewed is a sifter touch in mostly hard rocking songs, but listen to Harley...it could easily be a country hit. Just choose anything she sings, as absolutely nothing disappoints and she's a complete breath of fresh air in a worn out industry. Wonderful review !

I'm so glad Taylor Momsen and The Pretty Reckless are finally getting the appreciation they deserve. When their first album came out there were a lot of people thinking it was just a phase or a vanity project from a teenage actress looking to get some street cred, but I'm glad she's proven that she's a real deal rocker. Plus the music of the Pretty Reckless has been getting better with each new album, they have a number of pretty great songs.
And since Lzzy Hale got mentioned, as much as I adore her voice, Halestorm's music leaves me quite indifferent by comparison to the Pretty Reckless. I find myself listening to their covers far more than their original songs. Lzzy absolutely rips on Dissident Aggressor.

I find it interesting how her eyes add to the emotional impact of the song. She never looks up, at the viewer, always keeping her eyes closed or looking down ever so slightly, and deprived of that personal connection from having her look at you, it increases the context of listening to someone's private pain pouring out than it would otherwise.

The best, most heart wrenching version was recorded live about 2 days after Chris' death. It's fan vid. So audio isn't perfect, but very good for what it is. However it's something very rare, a pure raw outpouring of grief and loss by a very talented artist. She had to pause several times to weep, but did an excellent job as she said "for Chris". Not only did she open for him that night, she waited for him after the show to thank him. She was one of the last people to see him alive. The next morning she found out he was dead.

The last suspense build to the high yet soft In My Hand.... It's in the spirit. It's like we humans and our emotions and how easily it can get carried away, where we're screaming almost out of control, but then just as our beautiful life of glass turns to the fragility of sculpted sands, we realize our ridiculousness, and with our hands cupped, we catch what grains we can in realizing what we've done or become. A cradle to ourselves and she lived it herself, so no doubt she'd have it perfected without attempt. Risen from the sands, again we can reach potential to understand, who we are and, just what are we to do if not be sand....

I don't know if she was taken seriously at first - but she has impressed me for over a decade as a 16 year old - just rocking out and doing what she wants to do - been a fan and watched her prove herself time and time again that she is a bonafide rock singer and not a spoiled hollywood actress trying to get attention!. One of the few new bands and performers that is seriously worth getting into.
