@@whitediamond4500 What do you mean by "fixed" cream? I haven't heard of that. The cream in the frosting is heavy whipping cream, if that helps.

Did you use cake strips for it to come out not burnt or golden ?
I only have 9” cake pans instead of 8”. Can I still use those or no?
What brand of heavy whipping cream did you use? I used the Canadian one which is 35% and it wasn’t as sturdy as yours. Please help. Taste is amazing though but I want to pipe flowers on top and side of cake.

I follow the recipe but I was told the cake was day that it needed to be moist. Can I add something to make it moist?

@Forever Changed Thank you very much for the reply. I don't have the tiny arrow next to the title but I can open the link to her recipe with all the instructions. Unfortunately in the instructions its not mentioned either if the mascarpone has to be cold directly from the refrigerator or room temperature. In my experiences no matter what the temperature of the mascarpone cheese was, during the mixing process it always gets too soft. Never that the mascarpone cheese stays as stiff as I see in all the videos on RUclips that are using mascarpone. I was hoping to get a better opinion.
Everything going into a cake should be at room temperature.

how long will the frosting last at room temp? May need to transport cupcakes 20 mins in car while hot ouside...but ac on ....20 mins then out inside restarurant...
Generally whipped cream shouldn't be left out for more than 2 hours. It's a little hard to say about transporting in the car. If it's been refrigerated for a while before you leave, isn't in the direct sun and you have AC blasting on it, it may be fine. I drove a cake with cream cheese frosting on it for about 20 minutes last week to a friends house and it was just too hot out. The frosting starting melting off the back. But I was sitting with it in the sun in the AC part of the time. So it's hard to say for sure, but do keep it out of the sun.

Made this cake, followed recipe, very watery when 1 cup of water is added.. so it did not cook properly.
Oh man, I really wanted to love this recipe considering all the positive reviews. I prepared and planned every step accordingly to the video/recipe but the whole experience was a complete flop. I am an experienced baker but not a professional. This is more of a hobby. Let’s say I know more than someone who doesn’t bake regularly. The cake fell over twice in my fridge after the crumb coat. Eventually, I had to disassemble the entire cake and follow the recipe to Preppy Kitchen (another RUclipsr). Luckily his chantilly cream held up perfectly.
Hmm. I'm not really sure why you had more trouble with mine than his. I looked and they are very similar. He uses additional cream cheese and uses less whipped cream, which would make me think his would actually be less thick than mine. But then he uses more powdered sugar, which would thicken it, so they should be pretty similar consistency-wise. The only thing I can suggest is that maybe you over whipped the whipped cream in mine when you added the mascarpone cheese. If you over-mix/over-whip it, it can thin out. Same for if it gets too warm - it can separate and thin out and won't firm back up properly.
