80s. Neue Deutsche Welle (New German Wave). Very much of it was very, hm, "experimental". But for a lot of us... these are the classics. As weird or cheesy as they might be. Try "Fred vom Jupiter" by "Die Doraus & Die Marinas" for a treat... weird AND cheesy! This song "Die Sennerin vom Königssee" is kind of a musical parody. This setting - the rural mountains, the young herdswomanl, traditional costumes and culture - was a staple of a genre of German movies from the after-war-period called "Heimatfilme" (see the English wiki for "Heimatfilm", it's not directly translatable) These movies portrait an ideal, idyllic world, where life was still decent and wholesome and untainted by "modernity". They tend to be very sentimental and heavy on the romance. And so this song turns this around: using a (for the 80s very) modern music style, and portraying the protagonist as a modern, self-assured, confident and outgoing woman of the world. While she may be a pious traditional girl outwardly, "in der Nacht" (at night), she lets lose, dances and flirts with the boys.
I love that woman dance with the guy singing on, wholesome
Love your reaction and your dialect. Hugs from Germany 😊

What the???? Just who recommended this one??😅 1983 I was 19 y.o. and I had a massive crush on the girl dancing.
It takes me back to a time that seemed easier. But of course it wasn't 🙂
Es kann selbst auf Deutsche befremdlich wirken dieses Lied 🧐
Mit 40 Jahren Abstand … ich kannte das allerdings nur als Tonkonserve. Das Video ist mir neu.
In the context of the Neue Deutsche Welle, this is not that crazy 🙂
