I miss the presense the bass commands. Played violin for 8 years until i graduated hs and the bass and cello were always my favorite. Forced the orchestra teacher to let me play bass and cello my senior year because i had been practicing. We did little anonymous playing tests to decide seating my senior year i was concert master, 2nd chair cellist only to my buddy who i convicted to come play w us from another school, and 2nd chair bassist bc we had a really good bass player. Been graduated 3 years now and reminiscing makes me tear up
I really really want to know what bass or whatever instrument is in the back of most of their songs because they all have that similar sound and I can't tell if it's some type or organ or string instrument 😭😭😭 ITS SO GOOD
Dominik Wagner has a nerve issue, I don’t think trying to recreate this hold would do you any favors. He recently has gotten better and has switched to a normal hold again.

Are you referring to the German underhand hold or the fact that his fingers aren’t on the bow. Dominik has a nerve issue and that is why he has to hold the bow like that.

Sounds sad on a cello, but on a double bass it sounds angry and grieving. I like the difference. It gives a lot to the melody.

Well, if anything, it's not a good grip at all for anything. It's only helful when the bow is too heavy

@@irltraded I play the double bass but we hold the bow a different way. Once I tried holding it like that and my hand cramped up 😂
