    Faustus gave me the staying power to get my first lvl 100 and overall made things a lot less daunting to liquidate. If it isnt THE best it's definitely one of the best for simply having him put into the game.

    I think it was tbh, I've been playing about 1-2 months per league for 8 years or so and I had such a good time and the balance of the game feels pretty good. The only big thing I would change is maybe some non meta spell buffs and power and time rune drop rates increased

    The high gold needed to run the city was a pretty bad thing to manage, running t17's only for gold felt like a chore, but i still liked a lot, faustus was incredible, pretty fun league

    Sentinels were like a 1/10 I saw maybe a dozen in the thousands of maps ran during the league they were basically non existent. Affliction on the other hand was extremely rewarding when it popped up. If they made sentinels appear as much as wildwood I would agree with the rating you had.

And for majority of league I was running beyond maps whit full blue altars picking nearly all Quant options in maps by default minimum 80% quant atlas all in on map effect

    The base game keeps getting better and better. The Settler's town was OK, it was something different but I can't say it was fun. So, no this league mechanic is not A tier like Affliction, Sentinel etc. But that being said I think it did prove that having a reason to come back for "passive loot" is a good idea for the game.

    Yes and no. I mean on paper it was fun and it looked amazing. But in fact, i felt like a slave, forced to make gold, forced to set up everything for maprunners, for bunch of shit i didnt need, especially later in league...I felt being forced to play more than i wanted to actually, which i hated in the end. I agree with the hamster wheel feelings that you’re describing. When a game feels like a chore it no longer becomes as enjoyable as it once was. If they made gold drop 5x more I would have no issue with it. For the first 2 weeks I didn’t even use the currency exchange because I never had enough gold I was focused on bringing the town up. It took away from the experience and when I finally had things up I still had to go out of my way to get more gold specifically for disenchanting it felt like they added layers over layers over the same stuff.

    Currency exchange was the single best feature ever added in a single patch.. but settlers itself isn't even a top 5 league for me.. league mechanic was super engaging initially but after that setup.. the only "interesting" thing about it is sending 1 massive shipment a week to see what you might get.. and on a personal level.. I'm kinda burnt out on "juicing content." I've invested 1-2 mirrors in Frost Blades characters for the past several leagues.. so the fact that the builds of the league were the same builds I've been running for over a year really didn't help.. BUT.. I could definitely understand if you never played FB/LS before, why this "league" may have felt amazing to you lol.

    If we're talking league mechanic, then I'd disagree. If we're talking the best state of the core game (with the currency exchange) then sure. The league mechanic got boring really fast and while the base game was great, and I still played 2-3 weeks in the league without engaging with the league mechanic anymore, I hope the town doesn't go core. Also don't want to pay for early access of a free game, so not planning on playing PoE 2 in early access. Probably just take a long break from PoE til the next actual league and then try PoE 2 whenever it actually releases.

      I really dont understand why ppl disliked it so much, allflames were a cool idea even if the lantern was pretty annoying you could just forget it existed (at least in softcore), finally, the graveyard made crafting so much more quick and approachable, At this point i have passable crafting knowledge and I can self craft my own endgame gear, but man, the process is such a chore, add in the time required to farm the currency and its such a massive time sink in comparison

    • @jacoblancaster5044
      @jacoblancaster5044 Месяц назад

      Bro I'm the same but the exact opposite. I started in necropolis and hated it. The harder mods to deal with throughout the campaign the tedium of the corpses and actually being able to craft something better than what I already have. The rewards from lantern was nice and I guess I can say the trade off makes sense in the late game but I loved settlers. Maybe I'm just not as hard-core but as someone who works 60 hours a week being able to make a few divines here and there while offline before my nightly blast sessions was nice. Nobody said you gotta fully invest into the town and min max every little thing. But it's crazy to say at least shipping wasn't the easiest thing to keep up with. Get good farmers. Blast when you can at the end of the day out gold in town and the next day ship the biggest load you can then repeat and get good gear and currency passively. Idk the most tedius crafting experience I could have possibly had a nightmare about vs being able to progress a little easier as someone who doesn't have 80 hours a week to put into the game with some fun and interesting other mechanics like enchantments recombinators sentinels (never got a single decent thing from a mirror of kalandra and truthfully build wasn't strong enough for the wildwoof)

    • @jacoblancaster5044
      @jacoblancaster5044 Месяц назад

      Also in necrolpolis even as a noob I could farm harvest or blight (hated the blight changes this league ngl) and make enough currency to upgrade gear significantly faster than trying to farm organize and corpse by corpse place them exactly where they go in the graveyard.

      Where are you getting your data? Everything I saw showed Settlers having a very good retention rate. If you're talking about now, the league has been ongoing for nearly 4 months among the expectation of PoE2 release so what do you expect?
      I'm also still playing settlers and played the entirety of TOTA, affliction, and necropolis league and the league feels way more active than the end of previous leagues. Chats are still active and the main thing that is noticeably different now is that people are still whispering me for trades and more critically, for flasks, gems, and sub 1 divine trades. Usually in the last month or so of a league I get barely any people looking to buy anything.
      Also, retention rate isn't an objective measure of the quality of the league for many reasons. If you had far more new players starting a league then it would naturally suffer a worse retention rate and with the release of PoE2 there are A LOT of new players. Even now, more than 3 months in the league, global chat is filled with new player questions. It's really different than previous leagues. A lot of new players are trying out PoE because of PoE2 being released soon.

    • @Arccanos
      @Arccanos Месяц назад

      @zfeazcesd1047 poe db has the data. Settlers fell off extremely hard. Even from a raw numbers standpoint, Settlers was bad.
      Also, POE2 isn't why most new players are trying POE. My guess is that the influx is people who liked D4 but wanted more. Just like D3 starting POE's popularity.
      You can reject data all you want. I choose to believe in data, science, facts, etc. Please, continue enjoying the league. Just don't assume everyone else is.

    • @zfeazcesd1047
      @zfeazcesd1047 Месяц назад

      @@Arccanos You just admitted that there is a influx of new players and the raw numbers show on day 1 there were more players than ever playing the league, many of them new so it's only natural that many of them didn't play the whole league.
      Even despite the influx of new players, by day 30 settlers still had a higher retention rate than necropolis, crucible, kalandra, and sentinel. By day 60 this still held true. Raw numbers wise by day 60 the only league that solidly had more numbers was affliction, ancestor and sanctum technically had more, but it was only by a few hundred so it was relatively the same player count, but significantly more than ecropolis kalandra and sentinel.
      It fell off a little more approaching the 3 month mark, but still higher than necro, kalandra, and sentinel...but we're talking the 3 month mark now and it would be kind of silly not to acknowledge the anticipation of PoE2 as a factor. People liked the league and the data does support that.

      @@PathofEvening it's actually pretty common that people don't like poe 1 because of all the bloat, you can read it a lot from people who are excited about poe 2 but don't like poe 1. Maybe not everyone thinks that poe 1 peaked at 3.5 exactly or maybe these people didn't even play poe back then but imo it was the best league when poe still was in a great state. From legion onwards they started with way too big loot explosions and in harvest they started the ridiculous power creep so that's why betrayal is the peak to me. Settlers was a pretty good league for modern poe so I played a bit of it, that's why I stuck around. But if a league isn't good or doesn't change how we play the game enough I'll give it a skip nowadays.

    No this was not even close to the best league ever. Even though it RANDOMLY shit out currency it was no easier to properly gear a character. The best league would have to be one that allowed the most players to achieve endgame gear to access endgame content. The ONLY league that comes to mind that meets both of those is Ultimatum where Harvest was in it's best state and the trials allowed fresh characters to reasonably quickly farm enough raw currency to begin a more robust currency strategy. Look at your spreadsheet. You are investing thousand of chaos just to set those strategies up. Pray tell where the hell is that currency coming from?
