Don't know how many times I've seen this week series playthrough, but I appreciate it's candidness. Zach learning Arkham and Steven jacked for it and deck building for days.

Dunwich is getting pretty tough to find. I snatched the last copy of some Dunwich mythos packs that I was missing. Had to order from different stores in the EU. (Beware that the game is printed in some foreign languages when hunting them down XD I almost had an Italian version.) I missed out on the revised Core Set for Netrunner and I wasn't about to make that mistake again.
Thank you very much for playing this. I'm really enjoying the playthrough. I lent my core set to friend a while ago but have now asked for it back. Can't wait to play it again. Just going to order the Dulwich expansion as well. Thanks, guys in these trying times.
Arkham is fantastic. I just got into it two months ago. It's about a $500 buy in to get everything. That includes all the novels, two core sets, and all of the expansions including the return to... boxes. Totally worth the investment. Edited to add that Miskatonic is available now on Amazon and Ebay at retail pricing.
I'm so jealous you can play some LCGs in person. The location I usually at is obviously closed. Gonna live vicariously through you. Edit: Gotta say though, this situation really shows the value of Tabletop Simulator. It's great that (almost?) every publisher seems to have decided not to do anything about that program.
Started following you guys for your Marvel Champions stuff, glad to see you playing Arkham - I think I like it better than Champions just because of the storyline / roleplaying aspects of it.
2:27:30 After getting a treachery in an exploration, the exploration is failed. You dont get to keep drawing more treacheries even if you suceeded in resolving a treachery before. Also after resolving a treachery it is discarded into the encounter discard pile and not shuffled into the exploration deck. Just an heads up! Love the vids keep them coming!
Wait... if FFG is making Barkham Horror based on an April Fools gag last year, here's hoping they release an "Scooby visits Arkham" set April 1 2020... There's 5 investigators already in Scooby Doo, no?
I got into arkham because of your streams, but I am only watching once im done with a scenario. Just got into Forgotten age now and thereby checking out the original stream now! Crazy time. Wish you would do some arkham and marvel streams again ( I know it is not your source of income :( ). It's a blast to listen to you..
This is EXACTLY what I needed guys...I have been eyeing this for a while. If I pull the trigger I will go through you guys, thank you! My only issue with this game is it seems there's so fail state and therefore no tension?
@@jericosha2842 You most definitely CAN lose in the game. You get physical and mental trauma whenever your health or horror gets to 0. You can die when you fail to do the scenario correctly, for example if you don't escape in time - you can literally get killed and have to start all over again.
A Playthrough of Arkham sounds incredible! have not been able to play arkham in a while. it was really hard to get more cards in my country, it kept getting sold out. I only got hold of 2 core sets , sadly - but still enjoyed it a lot. I had to settle for playing online via simulators. interested to see what new things are in the game and how they play out in an actual game. About this lockdown, I just realized this probably hit game providers like you guys the hard. It's been a Blast for me and my discord group, since we have more time to work on our custom cards, modules and variants. Glad to hear from you guys. I still play the game with friends over steam using TTS. If you want to check out some mods/custom cards - my steam workshop name is SneakyPanda. I recently completed Medusa Villain encounter set, Doctor Doom and Civil War Variant :) enjoy!
Thinking about getting into this as a solo game. This is a good intro. It's annoying they deliberately put half the cards you need in the core box just to make you buy 2. Better than netrunner with 3 though.
Debating getting into it myself. I agree that their business model is a bit wonky. If I don't, it would be because of that. If I do, I'll probably use a copier to get the extra copies and then sleeve them with a regular (poker type) playing card. So my biggest issue is the price of the core with the Deluxe, the mini expansions, and the "Return to" sets. Combined, that gets up there. Edit: that goes up even more because I'm a completionist who would want ALL of the sets... and it would bother me that proxies existed in my collection. Ehh... maybe so, maybe no.
Great video, Im excited to watch the rest of this series. If wanted to start with just the core set how many cores would I need to have a playset of every card for 2 people?
The best way to go is to get two Core Sets. That gets you a playset of all the class cards, and a double playset of all the neutrals. From there, you're good to deck build to your heart's content with two players.
Thus my hesitation to start. It's interesting but... I usually play with 3 other people. That's a recommended 3 or 4 core sets unless we sleeve with proxies but, eh... idk.
it hurts to see you crease the book like that. Could've just creased on the binding and been fine. but had to crease like a quarter inch from it including over some words. the pain!!!!
It's only 2 cores that are essential and then 2 copy of everything else as you go (you can buy gradually and just play in sequence but there are some packs that are hard to get). Going from 1 collection building "optimum" decks for 4 people is tricky but not impossible, very occasionally I proxy some cards when playing with 4.
It's great but only if all players are equally invested in game and have good knowledge of the game. You must pay attention not only on your turn but on another's players turns as well. Otherwise game can drag on with lot of down time. There are cards and mechanics that can influence another peopels turns. So you have to know your cards and rules well to fully contribute. I've had great 3-4 palyers games when cooperation was awsome and some games where players didnt pay attention or didnt read card they just drawn and sat on game changing effect that could turn around colapsing game. This is less of the problem with two players becouse it is eaesier to communicate with just one perosn instead of two or three and there is less to track.
I know you have to explain for the audience too, but I feel like you could have just said "You have actions like in Netrunner, you only have 3 clicks, the arrow is click and the lightning bolt is an instant trgger" to save a bit of time

What were the decklists?
That Ziploc bag is the most profane thing you've ever done on a stream.
My entire thought was wash out that mug and use it!
I agree. Surely there is a scrabble bag on the shelf somewhere? lmao
Can you start playing with just the Core set? If so, is that fun and eventually add more as you want to expand?
Yes! You absolutely can. It has three scenarios.
I got so confused when you whipped out the tokens. Didn’t you say you were gonna buy them later with your $40 budget between each game?
Couldn't resist having one set from the start.

you would need two core sets to start but any of the cycle stuff you only need one copy for 4 players

$100 per person in this particular stream. That's the price of some board games! If playing with four people, you'd be at $50-$60 per person.
