    I got an uplift desk 83x31 and love it. It took about 20 mins to put together. It has been adjusted almost daily for years. It has never failed me. It has enclosed dual motors, tri extension legs, preset memory x 4, is silent, and a thick 1-inch single-piece white top with white legs. If I spill anything on it (food, drink, ink, etc) it wipes right off. Nothing has ever stained it or soaked into it, it has never chipped despite 3 moves, and can hold a lot of weight and a lot of things while staying stable. It cost more, about 2x what the cheap ones on Amazon cost, but I believe it is better quality & more solid than most other desks on the market. So many adjustable height desks now have a single exposed motor, and either split tops (2 pieces instead of one) and hollow core cardboard filled tops.

    You don’t have the Uplift V2 Commercial. You have the Uplift V2 Standard. The commercial has a cross member connecting the legs for more lateral stability.

    • @BeastMortThe
      @BeastMortThe 2 месяца назад

      Exactly! I had to mention this just a few minutes ago to another reviewer who was talking about the same stability issues. Of course the 4 legs are still going to outperform the 2 legs with stabilizer... but it's not going to be quite so bad. The thing I like about the 2 legs with stabilizer is that when you're sitting at the desk... I have less worry about slamming my knee into a desk leg when rotating left/right in my chair, versus probably consistent knee bruises with the 4 legs and hitting either of the 2 front ones.

      @SK_30241 Месяц назад

      @@BeastMortThe I don’t understand how you’re hitting your legs on the stands of the desk unless it’s a small desk and you’re tall…? I’m short and planning on getting a 72” or 80” wide.

    I bought the Uplift desk about 2 years ago. 31x72 size. This is the best desk I have ever used. Every single screw hold was line up with absolute precision. Packaging was great. there is ZERO wobble for me, even at top height and I have a PC hanging in a PC holder that makes the Tower "float" under the desk, and 2 32" monitors with Ergo mounts. A mac mini. a Set pf speakers. Mic. etc. the desk is Loaded. Never had a single issue with it. The little coaster wheels lock and make wire management a breeze....
    I have no experience with ODIN. But I will say Uplift is Super High Quality. I will recommend them to anyone and everyone that can afford them... amazing desk.

    Great, detailed video. You‘re talking about a lot of stuff most other (sponsored) reviewers miss. I‘m actually in shock about the very small difference in price between the two. The odin should be at least double the price due to its massive base and quality.

  • @BigLapua

    The reason you go down that low is for people that are wheelchair bound. When reviewing these, that is a key disablity item that should be reviewed. These desks are great for those people. You can lift the desk up and the wheelchair can be stowed under the desk when not in use for elderly or disabled.

    The fact that the Odin's plate doesn't come with pre-drilled holes is baffling to me. For a product in this price range, that's shameful. Flexispot could really stand to improve on that front.

    There is good information to consider, but some issues in this video. As somebody mentioned previously that is the Uplift V2 and not the V2 Commercial. The V2 Commercial doesn't use an inverted leg design, goes a little lower, and has a stabilizing brace between the back legs. Also the direct comparison to an Uplift V2 or V2 Commercial would be a Flexispot E7 , it would be more appropriate to compare the Odin E7Q to the 4-leg version of the Uplift V2. Can't say much to price as I've been looking at frame only prices (using a square edge steel workbench top to stick magnets to my desktop), but for like to like features it would probably have made the Uplift the more expensive option.

      2 legged height adjustable desks are never very solid at their standing setting. Its just physics. They COULD make it solid it would probably weigh 300 lbs! What would be interesting is designing the base so you could weight it with pebbles or sand yourself saving on shipping costs. That might work fairly well.

    quick comment which may or may not help anyone... I bought an Uplift, I think it;s great. ALSO.. Uplift has sales occasionally where the real wood slab tops are on scratch and dent sale... BIG BIG savings and the real wood tops look and feel fantastic. Much better than the MDF, I highly recommend you wait for the sale...

    The "free" extras from Uplift are just silly. The cost to Uplift to give those away could have been put in to making the control panel with presets free. Huge fail

  • @MStoica
    @MStoica 12 дней назад

    Hmm… in the specs of the E7Q it says “Load capacity: 300kg”. If I convert that, it’s 660lbs. Way north of the 400lbs mentioned in the video, so not just 80-90lbs more than the Uplift one, but a lot more 🤔
    As for the holes not being pre-drilled, that’s the only way to satisfy everyone. I mean, there are 2 scenarios: 1. Holes being pre-drilled - that’s ok for the people who will use it as is, but not ok for the people who don’t want to place the frame at that exact position (I’d prefer to have it a bit more inset). Or 2. Not having the holes pre-drilled, and this accommodates everyone - because everyone will have the freedom to drill the holes to position the frame/top as they wish, and not be stuck with extra holes in their desk top. Yeah, you need a drill. But I’s rather borrow a drill, than having some holes in my desk top that I wouldn’t use.

    I'd love to get the one you chose. I've found having an office job now for the last year that I feel like my back hurts more often and I feel it's because I'm sitting all the time now whether I'm working or at home on my home computer. My only issue is that I use a corner desk at home so I don't think a standing desk would really be an option right now. At work we have those things on the desk that make so you can stand at the desk, but they can be a pain since there's not a lot of room on them so when I'm having to print and go through reports I can't really use them.

    • @FreshAirRules
      @FreshAirRules Год назад

      There are 3 legged sit stand desks for corners that wrap around you. You can also go cheap and rig up a standing desk yourself with 3 legs and a wood slab then use a tall stool when you want to sit for a while to take a break from standing. Many people do that and it really works well at a fraction of the cost.

    Bipolar speakers placed against the real wall? Shame on you! Martin Logan would groan. Electrostatics/bipolar speakers need to be so far from walls.
    But the video was exceptional and its so good to highlight this superior 4 post design that has been ignored til now. Hopefully you will help people realize how important this is when we're standing as we often lean on the desk to take pressure off our knees/ankles/feet when standing for longer periods and you feel the lack of rigidity in a 2 post design very easily this way, even in well made designs. Personally I feel the answer is simply pulleys and a slotted steel angle 4 post frame that wraps around the user. It could also have an adjustable angle to please designers/architects who draw a lot. So easy with pulleys.

    Is there a reason that you didn't install the commercial bar on the commercial frame in order to increase stability? It feels like you bought the more sturdy desk frame and didn't install the piece that helps minimize wobbling, which creates an unfair comparison. (Unless you got the regular frame, not the commercial frame.)

I heard them in another review video side by side and the Flexispot was very clearly louder so I wanted to know if 4 legs really made a difference. I have skittish cats that follow me wherever I go and the Flexispot sounded like a handheld vacuum.

    As of right now (11/10/23), these two products arnt even comparable. Even after picking your wood options, leg/stand color and style, accesories like standing mat, organizers, etc. the uplift hasn't even broke the 1k mark. Of course it could easily pass the odin in price if you add stuff like an office chair, lamp, and a bunch of other stuff. But realistically if you just spec it to be as identical to the odin as possible, its not close. Theres also no option for a 60x30 desk with the odin, just a massive 72x30 desk as the smallest option. So base $768 ($848 if you go for the 72x30) website price for the uplift with the option to add a bunch of stuff not including the free stuff vs $1,140 ($1,260 without current discount) website price for a barebones frame and desk. For non-professional use, its simply not enough of a jump in value to justify the $500 increase, especially when the average person is just going to leave it in one of the two positions for the majority of the few hours in the day they are actually using their desk. I speced out an uplift to have cable management, a nice wood finish, a desk organization, a slightly upgraded stand, and extended warranty for less than the discounted price of the odin.

    I'm late to the party, but you didn't buy the commercial version of the Uplift Desk. You should edit the video and clarify that. Downvote for not doing so over a full year.
    By the way, you're comparing a 4-leg desk to a 2-leg desk, when Uplift also has a four-leg version. A fair comparison would have been each company's 4-leg offerings, but considering you didn't even realize you didn't buy the commercial version, I assume you're not too bright...
